The hotel staff is superhelpful and the rooms are very well equipped and quite big.The hotel is located in a zone close enough to the center, but it is in a really quite zone which make really easy to rest. The breakfast and possibility of enjoy coffee and tea during the whole day is a plus.

We had a fantastic room and truly loved our stay. The staff is phenomenal and the accommodations are absolutely top notch. The breakfast is more than enough and the location - while a few minutes walk away from the action - could not have been better. Very romantic and truly unforgettable.

It was really easy to find this place from the train station with the directions the hotel gives you. We didn't have a waterfront view, but we were able to see the water from our balcony and that was more than enough for us. The hotel was in an easy location and wasn't too close to the touristy areas but...

We stayed at the Ca' San Giorgio for two nights during our recent 10-day trip to Italy. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. I have to say, it was probably my favorite place we stayed during our trip (and Venice was probably my favorite city!). We arrived in Venice in the pouring rain. After getting lost in...

Everything at this hotel is done to a pretty high standard. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and gave excellent directions to find it easily from the vaporetto stop and back to Piazzale Roma on our final day. We had a superior, larger room. It was very quiet and comfortable. We liked the fact you could make your own...

A perfect option for our weekend in Venice. Handy for the station and bus station yet in a quiet street and area. Its right next to the Museum of Natural History on the Grand canal. It's a lovely building, beautifully designed with very clean rooms and public areas. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant and the breakfast is good....

We picked this place for a 2 day stay at the end of a cruise. SO beautifully kept and friendly, I wish we didn't have to go home! Great room, with nice breakfast. Centrally located (just a short boat ride away from everything you'd want to see). Kind , accomodating staff...reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Ca' San Giorgio was a lovely small hotel away from the bustle of central Venice. It was a short walk to the vaporetto stop at Riva Biasio and only about 15 minutes to the Rialto. Our room was attractive and comfortable. We could even see the Grand Canal from our window. The staff was very accommodating and even arranged an...

The room was great, cute and cosy. A lovely space to relax in. A delicious breakfast was provided every morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All the major sites and train station were easy to get to from this location.

Venice is a maelstrom of tourists, so it's nice to stay somewhere a little quieter. Ca' San Giorgio is close to the Grand Canal, across from the casino and close to the Riva de Biasio vaporetto stop - the trip to the Rialto takes only 15 minutes or so. It's a homely place and a nice continental breakfast is provided....

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
