Just a breath away from Snt Marc square, on a quiet little road, next to the boat stops , lots of shops and restaurant you find this hotel (some rooms are on opposite buildings). The rooms are spacious, new, clean and in perfect order. The staff are very helpful and especially Suzanne that deals with any issues ASAP and she...

We had the pleasure of 3 nights at Ca' dei Dogi. The service was perfect. We were running in the Venice 10km and were up way too early for breakfast and the girl on reception (whose name is completely escaping me, sorry) went out of her way to make sure we had something to eat for when we got back...

I went to Venice in half term with my 10 year old son for his birthday! We fell in love with the city and loved the hotel. I'm desperate to go back again and will stay at the same hotel. Breakfast filled us up so we didn't even need lunch. Everyone was super friendly. The hotel is a hidden gem!...

We had the room with the hot tub and terrace for around $300 per night in late September 2016. It was a bargain. The small hotel is very near St. Mark's Square, but is hidden from the throngs and off the beaten path. Just a few steps away is a canal with the Bridge of Sighs looming about 20 feet...

My wife and I had a lovely stay at Ca' dei Dogi, the staff were all very welcoming and polite, and the included breakfast was exceptional and always plenty of food. The hotel is very quiet, we didn't see or hear another guest the whole time we were there, and its location is so close to everything yet just far...

We stayed in the DAMA apartment and loved it! The apartment was across the alley in a separate building but the staff was readily available to us. Location was so close to San Marco. The Dama apartment was well equipped with everything we needed. We took advantage of the the kitchen and visited the Rialto Market every morning to get...

Mine and my hubby's first trip to Italy with our first stop being Venice. I was referred to Ca' dei Dogi by a client of mine. I decided to book 3 nights after researching the hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly, helpful and smiling face. We were impressed, as it was 1am. The eight-room Ca' dei Dogi...

Family of 5 stayed in 2 apartments of the hotel. Easy ferry ride from the station and then you are staying virtually in the centre of venice, just off Piazza San Marco. Breakfast was good and the hosts were very helpful. Highly recommended.

This hotel is two feet from the back of the Palazzo, across a narrow alleyway. Stay here, and return to the hotel several times a day, in between sightseeing trips to rest and refresh, as walking around Venice can be tiring and crowded. It is probably the closest hotel to St Markc Square, hidden away down a small alleyway,

What a great hotel. Fantastically situated, quaint rooms, beautifully set out and very comfortable. I was made to feel welcome and had no problems with check in. I ate out for lunch and dinner but breakfast was great with the cappuccinos being an essential part.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
