Certificate of Excellence
Hotel A la Commedia is located in one of the most lively, interesting areas of the ancient Venice. A few steps away from Rialto bridge and the most famous San Marc’s Square, the hotel is also conveniently situated close to the shopping boutiques of Venice. The city’s most fascinating mysteries and landmarks among the narrow streets and the vibrant squares are just a step away from your hotel. The elegant building, parallel to the Grand Canal and in front of the Goldoni Theatre, was beautifully restored in 2006, and now transformed in the Hotel A la Commedia. The hotel features state-of-the-art facilities in all the rooms: advances air-conditioning system, mini-bar, safe, telephone, wi-fi broadband internet, LCD flat TV with cable and satellite channels, radio, cd player and hair-dryer. The warm welcome of its staff and the beautiful atmosphere make the Hotel A la Commedia a real jewel in the heart of Venice.

San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We had a magnificent experience at A La Commedia. The hotel is perfectly located near all of the key attractions, but sufficiently tucked away from the grand canal to keep it private/quiet. The breakfast was amazing, and the staff was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable on

Everything about this hotel is fantastic! The rooms and hotel itself are pristine, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the location near Rialto Bridge and San Marco square is very convenient to restaurants and shopping. There was daily maid service and nightly turn down

Was recommended this hotel by a friend and we weren't disappointed! It's in an amazing location, and if like us - you haven't travelled to Venice before we were a little nervous about navigating our way from the canal to the hotel... well turns out it was ridiculously easy

The welcome of the Hotel, we found at our arrival in the room: fruit basket with cutlery and napkin, assorted chocolates, and a super extra size bed ... a dream!

Hi I checked their website and it seems the best they offer is a queen bed and a sofa bed. I would say it's a great place to stay in Venice. We were there for 4 nights. It's a real short walk from the waterbus on the Grand Canal. There are several restaurants in the area for lunch and dinner. The breakfast is great and you should really enjoy it. If you have to leave early before breakfast as we did on the last day the front desk will give you some takeaway food for that. The water transport back to the airport stops right by the hotel. And there is a small Coop grocery store in front of the hotel along with a great bakery in the same building.

Do they have an iron for the guests?
Not sure, but we found throughout Italy you normally have to ask reception for one.

How much for a water taxi from Venice S. Lucia Station to Hotel a La Commedia?
We took one from Hotel Kette to the station and cost us 80 euro for less than a 20 min trip. Expensive but much easier than dragging suitcases all over the place and on to the ferries

We took a private water taxi to Rialto. It is very easy weather you decide to take a public water taxi or private they are both located right outside the train station.
