Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While this is billed as a hotel it is more like staying in a stunning luxury home straight out of Architectural Digest. We were in a suite on the first floor with a separate entrance and a group of three private rooms. The room (103) was fabulous - every room is decorated a little differently and ours had amazing wallpaper with venetian lanterns on it in a beautiful muted beige. The reception and breakfast room are on the 2nd floor and breakfast was amazing with plenty of choices. The manager, Michela, was friendly, shared a lot of background about Vernon, and gave us impeccable instructions for our late arrival. Also when Michela learned I was learning Italian she immediately pivoted into speaking Italian just for me. I highly recommend Residenza Borsari and will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Verona.

Pros: able to store luggage until check-in as well as after check-out, great location, clean room, breakfast included
Cons: unfriendly hostess who never gave us a smile & did not make us feel welcome, minimal choices for breakfast, and very small bathroom for a “deluxe” room.
There are many choices for hotels in Verona & we will not choose this one again. We were very disappointed.

Michela, who oversaw day-to-day operations, is a gem - warm, attentive to making your stay enjoyable, knowledgeable about Verona. The location is superb. Rooms are immaculate, furnished tastefully, as is the elegant breakfast room. As some reviews noted, rooms may need maintenance work to provide a 5 star experience. Wifi was either unreliable or totally out on my floor for 2 days, after which I requested and was given another room. This new room had a shower door that didn't close entirely. Towels aren't plush but are adequate. Toiletries are fine. On balance, Michela's service compensated for the problems.

Residenza Borsari was a disappointment during our recent stay with 2 other couples.
This is despite the excellent furnishings, very pleasant and helpful staff and a great location in beautiful Verona.
Air conditioning issues, shower drainage problems, burned out light bulbs in rooms, thin towels and having to pay room tax by cash only all did not fit a high end B&B charging 300 euros per night.
We have stayed at many excellent B&B’s, but this one lacks the attention to detail of an on site owner.

We were there for a long weekend with a visit at the arena for the opera. It was a pleasent stay. The residenza is a b&b. But it feels more like a hotel. The host was very friendly. The room was clean and pretty with a modern shower and enough place for 2 people. The doublebed was large enough for people up to 1.95 m. We had a good breakfast with coffee and tea, bread with salami or parma, jam, fruit salad and juice. The price was fair for the location in the old town only 700 meters to the arena. We wood surely come back sometimes.

We were disappointed with our stay, mostly due to poor guest service. This hotel seemed so authentic and lovely in pictures, it is but doesn't justify such a high rate. We would definitely recommend you to find an airbnb nearby (the location is great though). Michela, our host was very unfriendly.

This hotel was a little treat right in the middle of all the action. It’s cardinal feature is its proximity to everything you’d want to see in Verona. I’d definitely recommend a balcony, both to celebrate the city of Guilietta e Romeo, and for the excellent people watching. The room was small but cozy, nicely decorated and had lots of storage space in the bathroom. The breakfast was fine; I’ve had better but overall perfectly acceptable. Michela the hostess and front of the house was absolutely lovely and always helpful. It can be a bit noisy at night, but it didn’t bother me. I’d also highly recommend trying the osteria just a few buildings down from the hotel- fabulous food.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Residenza Borsari. The location is perfect! Easy walking distance to the Arena, the Roman theatre, shops and dining.
Check in process was easy and the rooms are very lovely. We enjoyed breakfast in the dining area-which was wonderful. This is a small, lovely, boutique hotel in the heart of Verona! I highly recommend.

Residenza borsari is super well located. Its right in the center of the old city. Breakfast was fantastic! Really good cappuccino. The owners where very accommodating. We checked in at 8am and checked out at 3:30pm. Rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable!
We recommend Residenza Borsari!
We were very well looked after!

I submitted a review of our stay at the above B&B shortly after our visit of 5-7 September 2014. However, my review was not posted . I emailed Tripadvisor to ask why they hadn't published it and the reply was they hadn't received it. I also wrote a similar review for Booking.Com and strangely enough that review hasn't been published either.

We booked to stay at Residenza Borsari through Booking.com around the middle of August. We had confirmation of our booking including one from Residenza Borsari on 31/8. We were visiting Verona for just the weekend as we wanted to visit the Arena to see Madame Butterfly. Since we had very little time in Verona we wanted to stay as close to the Arena as possible, hence why we chose Residenza Borsari.

When we arrived at Residenza Borsai the front door was open. We entered a hallway and then took a very cramped, claustrophobic to - well just about every floor in the building because there was no indication as to where reception was. Eventually we happened upon reception and we were greeted by a very surprised lady, who introduced herself as Vera. She asked us to take a seat and she made us coffee. All very nice we thought. She told us that we were rather early and that our room wouldn't be available til 2pm. We were fine with that since we knew that was the check-in time. However, after about an hour Vera ( who we now knew as the wife of the owner) came to ask if I'd received a call from Booking.com. I was confused by her enquiry and I showed her an email that Residenza Borsari had sent to me confirming the booking. She told me that they had told Booking.com that they wouldn't be able to accommodate us as the previous occupants had smashed the shower. I was very taken aback and asked her why she hadn't mentioned this on our arrival. She said that she didn't realise who we were. Very odd I thought. I asked if we could see the room, not to check in but by now I was suspicious of the story. She would not allow us to see the room but told us that she had made a booking for us elsewhere. I said I didn't want to move to another location because we had so very little time. By this time I'd received an email from Booking.com stating that they had been informed by Residenzi Borsari that they had OVERSOLD the room. I dug my heels in and said that we were not going to move. She then said that they would get the Shower fixed and we could stay but we would have to wait another 2-3 hours before we could book in. When we finally got to the room, there was no evidence of any damage whatsoever.

Booking.com then said that they use the word OVERSOLD to cover any problems with room bookings.

I would never use Booking.com again nor would I recommend this place to anyone

There is a "suite" that has two large bedrooms. Modern kitchen and dining facilities and one bathroom. There is not a seating area other than the dining room table but there's plenty of room for three adults. Recommend you contact the hotel directly.
