In the city center of Catania, an elegant residence dating back to the early '900 wisely transformed into an elegant and charming B&B. This Bed and Breakfast retains the charm of Art Nouveau that lives through stucco and frescoes, expertly blended with contemporary furniture, all combined with warm colors and quality materials that will make you feel at home. In the centre of the residence and in front of every room, all with ensuite bathroom, a place of great relaxation is at your disposal: a Mediterranean garden where breakfast is served during the warm season or where you can have a break and use our free wi-fi. The B&B is 200mt away from the Borgo Metro and a few steps away from Cavour Square, crossroad of the Catanese autobus service. In a few minuts you can reach the Bothanical Garden, Villa Bellini (the city park), different restaurants, taverns and pizzerie. Via Etnea, Unesco heritage and shopping street, is attainable in 5 minuts.

We spent a wonderful time in Casa Barbero. We felt like in a small Palazzo. The rooms are unique and very clean. We started the days in a small garden with a delicious breakfast and small talk with Antonio. He assisted us with everything and had answers to all of our questions. It was like staying at a friends house. We can only recommend this house, the host, the staff... simply wonderful. If possible I would ask for a different room than the one towards the street. But beside that, the most perfect place to stay in Catania.

We had a lovely stay at Casa Barbero. My room (Bianca) had a spacious sleeping/sitting area with a large balcony overlooking the Mediterranean garden where we ate delicious cornetti and drank coffee and juice each morning (yogurts and cereals also were available.) Down the private hall of my suite was a beautiful, huge bathroom with separate areas for the shower, the commode and the large countertop & sink. Plenty of outlets (although some of them apparently didn't work) and a small refrigerator in the room for beverages and food purchased around the corner at the very convenient supermercato. The owner, Antonio, his son, and the housekeeper (who checked us in and showed us the ropes) were all friendly and very helpful. We could walk a lot of places and where it was too far, the metro was close by (and Antonio made arrangements for us for an early a.m. pickup to make an 8 a.m. flight) . I highly recommend Casa Barbero for anyone staying in Catania.

The BB Casa Barbero is a perfect place in Catania. Its location is very convenient, of easy access . The treatment is absolutely familiar, the rooms are very quiet close to a very pleasant private house garden. The breakfast is really remarkable. I highly recommend this charming BB!!

We stayed here for 3 nights in early December and we were not disappointed. It was a last minute booking for us as our holiday courier let us down so we didn’t have much time to research, but it was fab. We’re used to staying in hotels so not our norm, so was a bit scary. But Antonio arranged a courier for us from the airport (25 euro) which we were glad of not knowing the area. He also sent us links for a local restaurant as we were getting in late and didn’t know the area (which was great and had a lovely meal). The next morning we were greeted by the wonderful Matteo (and Lola). Hot croissants, amazing coffee and fresh juice. Perfect. Good location - supermarket about 4 minutes walk away. And an easy 15/20 min walk down to the main square. Would definitely stay here again.

Charming B&B located in the romantic courtyard of a historic building. Tasteful spacious room with a modern bathroom en suite. Perfect location to discover Catania‘s city centre, you can either walk or take the underground just around the corner. Antonio is a very friendly host, he helped me a lot with his recommendations for restaurants and how to travel around. Tante grazie e alla prossima volta!

My wife and I stayed at Casa Barbero for nights. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and completely quiet at night. There was no street noise at all.

The courtyard area where you can have breakfast on nice days is beautiful and quiet with many potted plants.

Antonio, the innkeeper, was very helpful with recommendations for what to do in Catania, where to eat, booking cabs, etc.

The inn is located a block away from a food stored.

It is an easy walk (15-20 minutes) on a well-lit street (Etnea) to the pedestrian area of town where there are lots of nice restaurants as well as historical structures dating back 2,000 years.

I strongly recommend this B&B.

What a delightful surprise awaits you when you unlock the outer door. You are in a beautiful courtyard with lush exotic plants. It is so quiet and peaceful - a haven of tranquility. Some of the en-suite rooms open on to this space, where breakfast is also served. Breakfast was superb. First of all we were brought delicious warm almond croissants and the best coffee I have ever tasted! A huge variety of fresh fruit, pastries and hard boiled eggs etc was tastefully laid out in the dining room. This room itself is to be admired, with its amazing original painted ceiling with intricate plasterwork, and a beautiful tiled floor. It was real treat to stay there and it is only a short walk to the main part of town.
Antonio was a charming host and arranged our transfer from the airport and also a wonderful half day trip to Mount Etna.

We very much enjoyed our short stay at Casa Barbero. We had three of the rooms which were all very nice and well appointed with all ammenities. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Lovely old renovated building with beautiful outside courtyard and garden. Very good location to walk to the city center to see the sights. Nice breakfast in the garden. Excellent communication with Antonio regarding arrival instructions and nearby parking. Casa Barbero is a small, quaint B&B located within walking distance to the city center where you will not be disappointed with your stay...highly recommend.

A charming b&b with a gorgeous little courtyard garden. It's about 10-15 minutes walk to the centre of town. We stayed in 'Bianca' a huge room with a balcony and a beautiful shower room, grey tiles, all very chic. Good wi fi, great coffee and wonderful attention from Antonio, Monica and Matteo. They are a joy to deal with and Antonio answered all my idiotic questions (first visit to Sicily was my excuse!) immediately. Spoil yourselves, go there, it's a gem.

Buongiorno Il parcheggio c’è ?
Answer from CasaBarbero
Catania, Italy10 contributions
Ci serviamo di un parcheggio custodito che si trova a 150 metri da noi, sulla stessa strada, in alternativa ci sono le strisce blu gratuite la notte e festivi e di fronte al bnb un tratto a parcheggio libero. Ciao, Antonio
Answer from CasaBarbero
Catania, Italy10 contributions
Hi, if you want you can park also in front of bnb and it is free, but my advice is to use the guarded parking "Green Parking" 150 meters, before bnb, same street. It cost € 9,50 all day or € 8,00 from 20.00 to 08.00 Bye, antonio
