Based in the historical "via Vittorio Emanuele II", at the first floor of a nineteenth-century palace, theB&B is within a stone threw of every attraction, such as St. Agathe's Cathedral, via Etnea and its historical buildings and fancy shops, the lively fish market (piscaria) and Castello Ursino. You will be amazed by the greek and roman monuments as well as the magnificent local Baroque.By night, you will be delighted to walk in the streets of one of the vividest cities in Italy. Moreover, The beaches of "La Playa" and "La scogliera" are also very easy to reach. We look forward to show you the beauty of Catania, which we are fully proud of.

What a wonderful place to stay!! Close to everything. Our hosts Massimiliano ( Max ) and Tiziana were also wonderful. They suggestions where to eat and places to see were excellent suggestions. The BB is right around the corner from the city center. You are in walking distance of all the wonderful sights around Catania. The fish market is a couple minutes walk from the BB. By day it is a fish/farmers market and by night it is restaurants. I highly recommend the Al Duomo Bed & Breakfast if you are visiting Catania.

First of all I have to say that from the moment the booking was done , the Communication from and with the hosts Massimiliano ( Max ) and Tiziana was always good, even during our stay. Max was helpful with booking our Taxi from and to the airport, was also helpful with us booking some excursions ( like the Etna ) he took the time to call the company and respond to all the questions we had. Something about the rooms and Location: Our rooms were quite spacious and clean, day in day out there was a change of laundry and bedding, which always smelled so fresh and clean like the room did. Comfy beds and extra pillows provided. Bathroom was comfortable and had everything. Great wifi connection. The only downside of the room was the Tv which only had 4 Italian channels and the connection was bad that basically made the tv just a decorative item in the room. one other thing was the wardrobe didn’t have any shelves in it so one cannot unpack things from the luggage. If you are someone who cannot carry luggages up the stairs better ask the hosts if they can help. The Location is an Amazing one centrally located, Basically few steps away from Piazza Duomo . You are always few minutes away from great Cafés and some really good Restaurants, it’s also few corners away from the fish market and from a very Hip area in Catania ( under the colorful umbrellas ) full of bars and restaurants which you can enjoy an Aperitivo or Cocktail with friends. All in all The Al Duomo Inn was basically a Positive experience.

A delight to stay at this place, alone the key to the front door gave me a tickle. The manager is very attentive to the need of his customers. Staff and service were excellent. The room is clean, albeit a little dark for my taste. Bed is very comfortable and bathroom very well organized. Only a few meters to the buzzing plaza and the excellent restaurants (recommendation of our host). The fish market is an experience with inexpensive lunch options. Catania is extremely walkable and fun to explore.

This B&B was amazing. I had stayed 3 nights at another hotel on my own as i was waiting for my husband and other friends to arrive. The other hotel was really good too but i wished that i had booked this place for the whole 5 nights that i was there instead of having to move. We booked all 3 rooms as there were 2 other couples. We had the place to ourselves which was great. The hosts was really good and the rooms were spacious and very clean. Our room had a balcony which overlooked the street and you can actually see Piazza Duomo. The position of the B&B was amazing. Just walk out of the building and you are literally there. The breakfast was great and plenty of it. there are no lifts so be prepared to take your luggage up a floor. If i go back to Catania i would definately be back to this great B&B.

I stay in Catania every month so I stay in many hotels. This one is near top of my list and will return for sure. If value for money was an important factor it would be top of my ratings, but I am on on business expenses so for me ratings are: comfort - very good, noise levels - good, cleanliness - very good, location - excellent, customer service - excellent, value for money - excellent.

You can't find a better location than this one. You can see Piazza Duomo from the window, but you're still a bit sheltered from the noise. The room and bathroom were sparkling clean. The bed was extra comfortable. The furniture is classical, to match the architecture and the high ceiling of the room. We had everything we needed in terms of facilities. Massimiliano and Tiziana are amazing hosts, ready to answer any questions on the rooms and Sicily in general. Every recommendation they gave us was spot on. Will definitely be back!

We don't usually stay in a B&B so didn't know what to expect but once we arrived we literally couldn't be happier. From getting a pickup organised for us from our late night flight, to greeting us with a warm smile at the apartment, we loved every interaction with the wonderful owner. The apartment itself is literally in the best spot you can imagine, and when you step out onto your balcony - wow! The room is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and we tried for the first time a croissant filled with pistachio paste!! Omg delicious. It was so much fun to come 'home' with a key to a front door into a house, you feel like you are a true resident of Catania. I would stay in this property in a heart beat.

Exceptional stay at Al Duomo in February. Me and my two young daughters stayed in their three bed family room. The owner, Massilmiliano, arrange for an airport transfer and met us at the B&B. Lovely warm welcome, extremely kind and helpful. Gave us plenty of information and booked us trips too. Felt very warm and welcome and I must say the space at the B&B is very clean and cosy. We had a small balcony on our room and big heavy window shutters to block out the morning light and road sounds. We were given his telephone number for any questions or issues and asked to stay in contact. His communications were fantastic and his english is extremely good. Rooms cleaned every day. Breakfast was lovely, but the breakfast room can be a bit chilly. We were even given a few special breakfast requests as a treat (my seven year old loves pizza, so why not eh?). Breakfast times and arrangements made via whatsapp to suit us and even set up in our room one morning, which my girls thought was an amazing treat. Return transfer to hotel organised for us too, with no fuss and many kind words exchanged. One of my favourite stays ever and I would strongly recommend anyone reserve this special little place for some warmth and comfort. You will be well taken care of.

what can i say that i have not said already Al Duomo is absolutely the best and only place to stay in Catania. The location cannot be beat and Max the owner is just an amazing person always a smile, good advise and a helping hand when you need one. There is almost nothing Max won't do for his guests. this was our 3rd stay and we will be back again next year.

If you go to Japan, you have to stay in a Ryokan, if you go to Italy, you have to stay at an old Italian house like the one Al Duomo Inn is in. Excellent hosts, and very helpful. Right next to Duomo square and many excellent restaurants.
