Stayed 10 nights in a triple room. The hotel is small and furnished nicely. The room we had was spacious with a large bed and a single bed there was also 2 chairs. We had a small balcony which looked out over the street at the front of the hotel. The bathroom was large. The shower is over the bath and it is quite high to step into it. In the bathroom is a hairdryer, shampoo, body lotion, shower cap and a vanity set (cotton buds, cotton wool pads and an emery board. The bed linen was spotless and sparkling white and looked and felt luxurious. The beds were extremely comfortable. If the air conditioning was off you just needed to ask at reception and it was switched on very quickly. Breakfast was nice and my son liked the chocolate coisants and hot chocolate. We were able to get a seat on the outside balcony most mornings. Once we got our bearings the hotels location was good. Close to lots of restaurants and bars. It was 2 buses to mondello beach which takes a good hour or more but worth it. We went to the beach all day came back to the hotel and changed and enjoyed the restaurants and bars of Palermo.
The hotel arranged a return taxi for us and confirmed the price and time by email. The cost was added to hotel bill - so easy.
We stayed in room 308 and our safe did not work we reported it twice.

It’s an attractive enough hotel in good proximity to the major attractions. It’s a 15 euro taxi ride for the train station and 50 euro ride to the airport. I got a good rate of $99 per night with Trip Advisor Plus. I think what Trip Advisor Plus is doing is offering good rates at decent hotels that need a boost in their ratings, which I am ok with as a concept.

The side street it is on was dark at night and a bit sketchy; they should really speak to the City about putting up some lights. The internet only worked in the lobby, and I had to call reception to have them turn the AC on. My room was on the second floor near the atrium so I could hear most of what went on the lobby when the AC was not on. There was no luggage rack in the room and my suitcase did not fit in the closet. They had SKY TV so some channels could be viewed in English. To use the spa sauna and jacuzzi area, they wanted 30 euro (~$35 US) and that was the guest rate. Had they offered a little bit more of a discount, I would have partaken of it. The gym was sufficient and the breakfast on the roof top was pleasant. The front desk printed my Covid test for me, booked my taxi back to the train station, and handed me a breakfast bag upon my early morning departure.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. They provide a very professional service from start to finish. Prior to visiting Palermo I asked the hotel if they would organise transport from the airport to the hotel. They did and confirmed everything in writing (even the price). It was so clear and they made the whole process easy. The staff speak English really well. When we arrived, they upgraded us to a suite which was very kind. The suite was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. There were three of us (myself, my husband and my son and we had plenty of space). It was surprisingly quiet for such a central location! We could literally walk anywhere in the city centre. The breakfast was also very good. They had a decent selection. The hotel felt clean and covid secure. They insist on disinfecting everything, masks etc so I did not feel vulnerable in any way. I was very satisfied with this hotel and I would stay here again in the future. I highly recommend it.

I loved this hotel and the helpful staff. Warm quiet and comfortable off a small street near the marina in the old town and near wonderful museums, galleries, cafes, bars and restaurants.
It felt a safe place and reception staff were very helpful with recommendations on everything. There was s lovely breakfast in the morning with smiling lovely staff and amazing cakes that were different every morning. There was a wonderful view from the breakfast terrace and a pleasant bar in the evening time for light food. The rooms were cleaned spotlessly everyday and there was a free local bus that stopped near the hotel that circled the old town.
Piazza Marina nearby, had lots of restaurants and there were many more local places to eat in the small streets also nearby. We stayed 10 days and we really fell in love with this beautiful city and it’s incredible history, culture and people. The hotel was in a great location and we are grateful for the lovely hospitality we received. Thanks to all the staff. Go raibh míle maith agat.

Very charming hotel in descriptions and reviews.
A vintage style with “vintage” bathrooms, stains on the toilets.
View from the windows to walls or to the 4m far next building walls and balconies.
Spa - not for relaxation as the voice of the jacuzzi old engine is so loud that you need to run of that noise. By the way, mostly the engine performing noise than the waves in jacuzzi itself.
The finish sauna is only 50 degree and the humid sauna is about 80 so you van not stay it more then 1 minute.
Soundproof walls just giving you all the details what is spoken in the next room.
You will not need an alarm because the cleaning service will wake you up with the sounds next to your door. If it will not wake you up, dont worry, they will knock the door several times.
Breakfast food as you see is limited. Of course, why to spoil the food… just choose what is left and do not stay hungry. There are so many hungry people on the world that even do not have what this hotel offers to its guests for the surrealistic pleasant breakfasts.
Anything else: lovely staff that ready to make your stay unforgettable. Well, it is not always good things to remember, but bad as well, however, I promise it will be unforgettable stay in any way!

I stayed at the Hotel Porta Felice for 5 nights.

Firstly, all of the staff were really friendly and always available to help with recommendations or bookings as not many of the locals spoke English in Palermo. The room was clean and spacious, and the location of the hotel was close to the majority of local tourist attractions (i.e. 15 minute walk to train and bus station, 20 minute walk to the cathedral and town square).

Just to note, the hotel did not have air con and there are currently a lot of building works going on at the front and back of hotel, so if you want to have the windows open for cool air, expect a lot of noise from 7am or during the night on the semi-busy road just outside.

The hotel also does not have an iron available which I have never experienced before or any hair conditioner (only shampoo and body lotion), so make sure you bring your own! Another thing to know, the hotel walls are very thin you can hear everything in the rooms next to you and from the corridor - this didn't impact us much as we barely spent anytime in the room and we are quite heavy sleepers!

There was a range of average breakfast options (hot and cold), with again extremely polite, helpful staff and the view on the balcony was beautiful. Food in the evening was very cheap and convenient but nothing special, we only used this option once as a quick snack but there are some lovely restaurants in the town centre with delicious Sicilian food!

We also used the spa during our visit, the spa was clean and nice however the massage was extremely disappointing and I wouldn't recommend. It felt like the masseuse had no experience or prior training on how to give massages and I could easily have said it was the worst 45 minute massage I have ever had especially at ~50 euros.

Overall, this hotel was for a great price and we had a great stay just a few minor things we wish we would have known before staying!

Hotel is overall very well presented.
Our room was lovely however the noise was a big problem.
We were put in a room where our balcony was facing building work being done, every morning at 8am we were woken by workmen chucking bricks onto the wooden slats which was frustrating.

You’re also able to hear everything happening in the corridors and feel as if you have no privacy in your room as you’re able to hear other people’s conversations from your bed.

Another annoying thing about the room was that you weren’t able to adjust the temperature in the room at all, if you wanted the air con on or heating it was blank and unable to be changed.

The selection at breakfast was okay however you have to pay for the hot food and it’s no longer a buffet due to covid, there was some language barriers at breakfast so it was a bit difficult to tell them what you wanted but this wasn’t much of an issue.
The only problem at breakfast was that nothing got replenished, it was a matter of first come first served.

But the spa was a lovely and I’d definitely recommend.

This Hotel has a great location for walking into the city of Palermo. On a quiet side street the hotel is perfect. You can have paid parking which is helpful. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was this was a "Spa" Hotel but they charged the guests to use it.

I enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at the Hotel Porta Felice in Palermo. I was there for business and selected the hotel blind off the internet, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Located near the water/harbor on a narrow street, the hotels shiny exterior sets it apart from its surroundings. The staff was lovely, and were able to accommodate a change in my schedule adding another night to my itinerary.

I was upgraded to a suite, and my room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Palermo was pretty warm the beginning of August, but the AC kept my room nice and cool. Breakfast was served on the 4th floor rooftop terrace, and one of the highlights of my day there was drinking cappuccinos at an outside table enjoying the morning view.

My only regret is that I didn't have a chance to utilize the spa on site, a massage would have been perfect, but unfortunately my schedule wouldn't allow it.

The location is ideal - I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. Incidentally - I flew into PMO, took the 7 Euro bus to the town center and walked to the hotel. Easy peasy. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Porta Felice again.

One more thing, Kudos to the 4th floor bartender Marco, he was welcoming, friendly and provided excellent service.

We stayed for two nights at the end of May. We could not have been happier with the location and the staff.

From check-in to check-out, the staff at the reception desk were friendly and helpful making restaurant reservations for us and providing recommendations.

The hotel is ideally located in the historic old part of the city, near the marina and Via Vittorio Emanuele, the main thoroughfare in Palermo, so it was easy to access the various points of interest.

We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace. There was no self-serve buffet, but we made our selections, and the plates were brought to our table. Service was efficient and the choices were broad.

We also enjoyed cocktails on the terrace one afternoon and again had great service as well as an interesting view.

The room was clean and spacious, with a large bath, but it was a bit dark.

There was a desk, and plenty of outlets for phone and laptop charging.

Our room faced the side street, but noise was not an issue.

This was our second trip to Palermo, and we definitely preferred this location and hotel to our choice the first time.

Bonsoir, Brigitte. The address Via Butera 35/47, 90133, Palermo, Sicily, Italy. TripAdvisor reviewers rank it #9 of 98 Palermo hotels. A free tram/bus that circulates amongst the main attractions, and stops a block from the hotel, at the port/gate adjacent to the waterfront. Search on any Web browser the following: Hotel Porta Felice. That will provide the phone number, website, and email address. TripAdvisor does not allow me to provide you directly with that type of information. I was thrilled with the service and ambiance at this 4-Star boutique hotel. A botanical gardens is about 3 blocks from the hotel. Enjoy your visit to Palermo. I certainly did!☺
