We spent two nights in the garden apartment at the beginning of our two weeks on Sicily (spacious, comfortable, and private), and two nights at the end of our stay in a superior room with a view (beautiful, and incredibly well soundproofed from the street). Both were great.

Every single person on the staff was exceptionally professional and friendly. Andrea was extraordinarily helpful in so many ways, from even before we arrived to an excellent recommendation for our final lunch, and so much more. He also arranged a driver so we could visit Segesta and Selinunte. The very knowledgeable and engaging driver (Antonello) provided so much more than transportation.

Siri was also wonderful, from her warm welcome to her recommendation for an excellent ceramics shop. And it was great to always have Nina’s friendly greeting and excellent service at breakfast every day.

The staff seem to answer your questions even before you ask them. They always confirmed that their information was up to date (especially important in the off-season).

Everything about the stylish Natoli clearly strives to be first class. Excellent location. We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Palermo.

From the moment my wife and I arrived, we experienced outstanding service at Palazzo Natoli. As we were exiting our cab, Matteo intervened in our discussion with our cab driver to save us from being overcharged. Once we were checked in, he provided us with a series of incredibly helpful recommendations for places to visit and eat, most of which we would have never found on our own. Everyone of the staff treated us very well.

As for the hotel, it bills itself as a B & B, as it has only 9 rooms. It is very well located, on a quiet street, just off the Corso, and is only a couple of minutes walk to the cathedral. The rooms and decor are well thought out and very tasteful. Our room (number 5) was spacious, with a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom, complete with a beautiful orchid on the counter. There was great attention to detail. Everything was immaculate.

The breakfast was generous and the service at breakfast was very attentive. We had a wide choice of items to eat, and the cappuccino was delicious. Palermo turned out to be a great destination to visit, and we will definitely stay at Palazzo Natoli again when we return!

Excellent service and hospitality and well appointed rooms. Breakfast was great and the restaurant recommendation were generally good. Great location as well. Every single person we encountered at the hotel was a delight! I would suggest allowing the hotel to arrange for taxi service from the airport as we had a difficult time directing the taxi driver to this hotel because of its location in a pedestrian area. I am sure that with proper arrangements from the hotel it would have been seamless and I know they’d have been happy to help— I just didn’t think to ask.

With reviewers raving about how "absolutely fabulous", "excellent", "outstanding", and "simply the best" the Palazzo Natoli is, I can only think they don't get around much. Don't get me wrong. This certainly is not a bad place to stay in Palermo, a city with countless truly bad hotels, but the enthusiasm and exuberance really needs to be tempered some because when all is said and done, in comparison to all of the places one might stay in Italy, this is objectively pretty average accommodations at best, and I'm being generous.

First of all, what should be made clear is that this really isn't a hotel so much as a B&B. The reception lobby might have been ten feet square, the 'dining room', perhaps twice as big ( I'm want to recall four tables for two ) and that's counting the breakfast buffet area that due to Covid, guests aren't allowed to enter. They serve a fairly limited breakfast and no lunch or dinner.

As to the Palazzo Natoli's location, it's certainly convenient to Palermo's city center, but it's tucked into a narrow, graffiti defaced, garbage strewn, alley that, while certainly not the worst street/alley I ran across in two days of sightseeing, was certainly the 'sketchiest' neighborhood setting I've ever stayed in. That you think this review is too harsh, should you stay there, think of this review and when coming and going, ask yourself if you'd expect an unaccompanied woman returning to the 'hotel' at midnight to feel safe?

My wife and I stayed in the 'Family Room'. Based on the floor area it was certainly uncommonly spacious by any standard, and staying there was certainly no hardship, but it was essentially a windowless ( for all intents and purposes ), sparsely furnished, ground floor, room with a gritty, bare, tile floor and furniture likely purchased from Ikea. To the reviewer who pronounced the "facilities" "new", I'd be interested to learn, in what year? The fixtures, furnishings, and appointments in our room were anything but new. The room's double bed was the weakest element, given that it was nothing more than an overly soft, well worn, foam mattress set on wooden slats standing in for a box spring.

My fellow reviewers are right about the staff. Each and every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and friendly to a fault. As an example, while eating breakfast one day, I couldn't help but observe the front desk attendant spending the better part of half an hour discussing and mapping out worthy sights for one of the guests, not just in Palermo, but throughout western Sicily.

I'll close this way. Given that I'm the sole reviewer to rate this hotel as less than "excellent", my review will likely be ignored as an outlier. Trust me; I'm not disgruntled. I have no grievance with the Palazzo Natoli. But remember this review when walking around down near the harbor and you find yourself walking past some legitimately excellent looking boutique hotels and find yourself wishing you were staying there instead of at the Palazzo Natoli.

Response from Palazzo Natoli, Proprietario at Palazzo Natoli Boutique Hotel
Responded 22 Sept 2021
Dear Mr. Mark K, We are sad to hear that you did not catch the value that the majority of travellers - also the ones who travel a lot - use to experience at Palazzo Natoli Boutique Hotel. We would like to share to all the readers that our neighborhood is safe (We face Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the most important pedestrian street of Palermo)  as We are located in the most central area of the city, full of services, restaurants and mostly fascinating historical buildings and hidden cultural gems. Thank you very much, instead, for noticing  the effort that all our staff make everyday to deliver an excellent experience to all our guests. Also the Management made a great effort to realize the project of all our rooms with good quality furnishings - which in your room has been bought in 2020 - reflecting the authenticity of our Boutique Hotel: modern, functional with a Sicilian style. Apologize, but We truly do not agree with your comments regarding our furnushings... Regarding our common spaces and breakfast room, We are aware not to have enormous spaces but We do our best to respect all the rules, precaution and distances by law in order to guarantee the highest cleanliness and hygiene standards (unfortunately the covid times are not ended yet).  We truly hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the next future, Warmest regards

My wife and I recently stayed 3 nights at this incredible boutique hotel. The hotel is a 300 year old palace with 11 modern rooms yet preserving the old personality of this historic building. The location couldn’t be better in the heart of the old historic city of Palermo next to Via Vittorio Emmanuele. When describing service and hospitality in a hotel , this is as good as it gets. Everyone at the hotel makes you feel like family and really go the extra mile in making your stay as special as possible. They work on every possible detail, from making sure your breakfast “a la carte “is perfect to restaurant reservations at night, etc. The fact the hotel is very small makes the experience even better. I wish to highlight the extraordinary service by David, Andrea and Mateo as well as Greta. They all made the experience extraordinary. I will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Palermo.

This is probably the sweetest boutique hotel I've ever been in. The location is perfect, close to the Cathedral and Royal Palace in one direction and the Quattro Canti and Via Maqueda in the other. When I checked in, Andrea, who clearly loves Palermo, gave me an annotated map of things to see, all within walking distance. (Make sure to go to the Rinascente department store's rooftop bar at sunset!) Andrea and Davide were friendly and helpful, and the entire staff were wonderful. Breakfast was varied and fresh, my room was spotless and charming (with a tiny balcony overlooking the alley) and everything added up to an oasis of calm in an animated, beautiful city.

Oh, yes -- make sure you hit Cappadonia, right around the corner, for what may be the best gelato in Palermo.

If business or pleasure brings you to Palermo, stay here. This intimate boutique hotel, centrally located in the historic district, is a gem. Large rooms, incredible concierge staff, and excellent location. The guestrooms are unusually large, beautifully decorated and the breakfast which is included is notable. So beautiful and puts to shame any other hotel breakfast. The staff: Serena, Siriana and Andrea in particular, as well as the porter Ahmed - just fantastic people. They anticipate guest needs and are really detail oriented. They also love their city and make great recommendations. Just lovely.

We just returned from a two-week trip to Sicily with another couple. We spent two nights at this lovely hotel. When we arrived, the charming young man who checked us in gave us a map of the area that he had annotated with suggested walking routes and recommended restaurants and sites to see. His recommendations were spot on! The hotel is located just off the main pedestrian street in the heart of the city center and is a short walk from all the major sights. The rooms were quiet, very spacious, and incredibly comfortable. And the breakfasts were very good. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. We would never consider staying anywhere else.

Palazzo Natoli is a gorgeous hotel: nicely decorated, modern rooms with lovely bathrooms, perfect location in the heart of the city just off the main street but with double glazing so rooms are very quiet, tasty breakfast - but best of all, a wonderful team. Lovely Andrea, Davide, Mario and their colleagues are so kind and friendly. Nothing is too much for them: booking, recommendations, advice, helping out with anything you need. The welcome was incredibly warm. We’ve discovered our place in Palermo and this is it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo Natoli ! The rooms are so thoughtfully decorated and comfortable. They have thought of everything for their guests enjoyment. Breakfast was delicious, with great variety.
I cannot say enough about the staff. They are all wonderful. From making sure are needs were being met, to making restaurant suggestions (and reservations), everything was top notch.
The location is perfect for exploring the historic district, local markets and walking to many restaurants.
I recommend this boutique hotel highly.

Secure valet parking for 20€ (I recommend this); or try to find a place on the street not far from the hotel (good luck).

Good Afternoon: You would have to contact the hotel, but I highly recommend this establishment. It's very elegant, there is no elevator but the staff will be more than happy to help you with your luggage. Everyone is very friendly and the breakfast is great! If you can, splurge for the Presidential Suite (I did and I loved the space!) The hotel is in the historic center of Palermo so almost all the sites are walking distance.

Perfectly sound proof. When you close the windows the noise from the street stops. And the hotel is very quiet inside too. Beds are high quality.
