While the reception and mezzanine area have been subjected to the "Ibis Styles" jazzing up, the rooms have not (fairly plain and characterless), but this was a good choice hotel as I had a car during my Palermo stay.

The hotel has a little private car park immediately behind it, and I found a space both times I returned to it. It is within walking distance of the city centre (though not the most central) - around a 30 minute walk from Quatro Canti, overlooking the port and not within the ZTL. I was happy walking to and from the hotel after dark, and did not feel unsafe.

I only paid 55 Euros per night (room only, with Accor loyalty card) and reckon this was excellent value for money. Relatively quiet given the location, decent enough shower, fridge in room, working in-room safe, comfortable bed.

I was able to take advantage of the laundry room, hidden on the 1st floor - 9 Euros to wash and dry a load of laundry, including detergent, and the tumble dryer was particularly effective.

If you don't need parking, I'm sure there are more central and characterful hotels, but it did the trick for me.

Thank you for the positive review regarding these important qualities of Ibis Styles Palermo The hotel is the perfect starting point to discover this stunning city, its historic buildings and and all the West Sicilian Coast. As you can read, Ibis Styles Palermo obtains several positive reviews for its facilities, staff’s expertise and its great value for money. We would like to suggest our design hotel Ibis Styles Catania Acireale, for your next journey in the East Coast Kind Regards

Stayed here for a quick Winter break. Although the surrounding area may not be the best Palermo has to offer, I cannot fault the hotel. Staff were friendly, and very helpful and accommodating. Patient with attempts at Italian! The room was huge with a walk in shower en-suite and with a huge 2 person bathtub in the actual bedroom. A bit quirky but very different.
Breakfast room on the 7th floor overlooks the harbour, and you can watch ferries and cruise liners as you take breakfast. Breakfast itself was excellent with great variety and plenty of fresh fruit. Really good coffee to. Other than the area (night time returns you do run a gauntlet currently through building works close by that is used by homeless at night time so be careful)
Staff were so helpful and were genuinely interested in your trip and in the hotel service. Recommended.

Firstly, this hotel is in a location that overlooks the docks. They have a breakfast restaurant and evening restaurant that overlooks the docks with a good view which is so pretty at breakfast and night. Definitely worth having a drink here just to see sunset and lights of the docks. The standard bedroom was quite spacious and it has all your basics (which is what Ibis is know for) and there’s parking onsite. We stayed for a couple of nights and they kindly gave it to us complimentary but if you’re not staying here, they charge a fee.
The best part of staying here is the staff on reception. They are all SUPER welcoming, friendly and helpful. During our stay, we asked them a lot of questions like where to hire a scooter, car, taxi, directions etc. I also lost a sentimental hat that is a unique design and purchased from Brazil. The staff especially Ludmilla helped me try to locate this and even when I was moving around Sicily, I had the taxi driver drop it at the hotel and they held onto it for me. I’m so grateful that they were kind enough to do this for me. I felt that Ludmilla went above and beyond for us, we did request and ask other things too and Ludmilla would alway try her best to help. I can’t thank Ludmilla enough and highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Palermo.

We booked this based on our very positive previous stays at Ibis Styles in Glasgow and Barcelona. I can not begin to describe how disappointed we were. The location close to ferries and the cruise ships has beautiful views but is quite unsavory especially after dark with mounds of household trash (literally) stacked at the street corners.

When we checked in we were told we had booked a "classic" room not a styles (which apparently was a 20 E upgrade). The classic Room was very tiered with badly chipped furniture, torn curtains and a pool or water in the mini fridge ( which we need for medication). When we went out for a walk we returned to find they had replaced the mini fridge with a new one - but it was warm and our meds were not in cool at all -not good. The worse part was maintenance had left their keys in the lock so anyone could have just walked into our room and helped themselves. When I went down to ask to speak to the night manager I was told they don't have one.
We did enjoy the view from the balcony one evening, the bar person was attentive but the balcony cement ceiling was crumbling and the dining room ceiling showed evidence ow water damage and a broken window pane. Breakfast was OK and the ladies working the tables very helpful but stressed. Long lines for the coffee machines.

Due to the unlocked door fiasco we were "upgraded" to a "styles" room which was also in very poor repair (but everything was clean throughout housekeeping ladies do a terrific job). We ended up with our medical icepacks in the ice cream freezer in the lobby, and the front desk staff do their best. Did I mention there are only 2 tiny elevators for 6 floors - which get mobbed by tour groups all showing up for breakfast at once. The elevators don't have security featured so anyone can access them.

Overall the hotel is very poor condition, upgrading the hallways but not the rooms seems odd to me. The lack of care and upkeep was disappointing, and the location did not feel safe (and I have lived in Chicago and Latin America). I did use the laundry (not available 8pm to 8 am) at 8 euro to wash and dry seemed expensive but functional.

I would have a hard time recommending this hotel. It needs a great deal of maintenance and even then the location does not warrant the "styles" brand and the price premium associated with it.

I stayed here with two girl friends for the weekend. I was anxious reading the reviews. I’m glad to say I found it clean with friendly staff. It’s a basic hotel which comes with a budget price tag. It’s about a 30 minute walk from the train station of Palermo Centrale. The old streets are not meant for pulling along my little wheeled cabin bag, best to get a taxi. It’s about 15 minutes into the hustle and bustle of the main city.
The rooms are large but basic. Cleaned really well. The beds are firm (which is my preference). The side tables are on an angle so you quickly learn not to put on your glasses or phone as they slide off. The bathroom is well stocked, shower gel, shower caps, intimate wash (to use with the bidet I guess), towels aplenty, and shoe shiner. The shower was ok, difficult to get the right temperature. We overlooked the port, not pretty as such but fascinating watching the ferries and cruise ship. It was relatively quiet apart from the odd emergency vehicle (which seem to struggle to pass the cars, they don’t move!). The A/C is as strong as a gnats fart. It was fine in the 22c of November but I wouldn’t imagine it’d do much in the hot summer. Having said that there were renovations happening in the hotel whilst we stayed.
We had a warm welcome from all of the staff who were just lovely. Greeted by their events manager. Be aware there is a city tax to pay on checking out; I paid €6 for 3 nights (I hadn’t expected this).
The buffet breakfast had a good range of foods and good coffee. Tried my first persimmon. Great to use the balcony too.
If you’re a runner it’s worth knowing that there’s a Saturday morning parkrun a mile away at Foro Italica at 9am. A safe run as a solo female runner to and from the park.
We had a mixed experience of food and drink in Palermo, avoid the touristy restaurants. Do your homework on where to eat. We had an amazing lunch at Antica focacceria san Francesco, best Aperol spritz I’ve ever had and a wonderful swordfish pasta. Be aware that many restaurants charge a €2 for each cover. The better restaurants are generally booked up, so prebook for sure.

The hotel is located right on the waterfront, just across the harbor. It's nice to sip your morning coffee on the 7th floor breakfast terrace while watching the ferries moving in and out.
The location is great not only because of the scenic view: the main attractions of this fabulous city, including Teatro Massimo and Fontana Pretoria, are walking distance away.
Although there's no gym room, the hotel's staircase walls are painted in an attractive way to encourage the guests to climb the stairs instead of taking the elevators. However, the hotel's theme seems to be graffiti, to match the neighborhood – old buildings, some of them decayed and covered in interesting and funny graffiti.
Stayed in a room located at the 4th floor, over viewing the mountain and the old neighborhood mentioned above.
The concierge staff is particularly kind and helpful. Free city maps are available for free at the reception desk.
The breakfast is decent. I also took some meals in the hotel's restaurant and I found the food savory and tasty, although not much fancy looking.
All in all, a good accommodation option in Palermo, offering a good value for money.

Do not recommend. Everything in our room was falling apart. Everything in the bathroom was broken (mirror, lights, toliet paper dispenser, shower doesn't drain.. the shower leaked into the main room and all over the bathroom). Couldn't put anything on our nightstands because they would fall off the wall. No closet space or drawers. Fine for one person but not two. The air conditioning worked on and off - most times blowing hot air. Our room was muggy and hot. All the front desk said was "just shut it off and open your windows". No screens on the windows = being eaten alive by mosquitos. They allow cigarette smoking so it smelled like smoke in the hallways every night and it seeped into our room. The floors in our room left our socks really dirty - they don't mop, had to wear our shoes in the room. The hallways are dark and dirty. DIRTY. Free WiFi? Never worked in our room. Every time we asked for help with something we seemed like an inconvenience. One night i was charged $2 for water, the next night was $4. hotel needs a major upgrade. DO NOT STAY HERE. We were very unhappy. Breakfast was the only reason I give them 2 stars.

Very good location, walking distance to the city center and market place. The double room we stayed at was huge, with huge bath tub and toilet is separate from the shower area. Room was clean. The twin room where my kids stayed at was a bit small though, shower area was also small, no room to move about.
The breakfast was ok. Stunning view at breakfast are.
There's a parking onsite, which was very handy.
Overall, it was a good stay.

We got a superior room on the back side of the road (at first, we had a roon with a view at the port and we changed it - the girl at the reception really helpful and sweet), since it was quite noisy for light sleepers, like us. The superior room is big enough, really comfortable for a couple. It was clean, with a fridge and a nice tv. The nicest surprise, though, was the breakfast, a buffet with plenty of choices (salty, sweets, fruits etc), an excellent service from the staff and a nice view over the Palermo port. Close to the city center, I would definitely choose it again for a future stay.

We all know what Ibis Hotels are like. Big, impressive, clean, majestic...well maybe I exaggerate a bit. The one we stayed in is located in front of Palermo harbour. It means that the view from some rooms and from the breakfast lounge was kind of spectacular.
This is the best...or the only.
It was four of us who stayed here and were given rooms 118 and 119 on the first floor but facing the back side. The rooms were spacious and quite clean with two big beds that could easily sleep 4 people. The problem was that all night long we could hear the annoying noise of the hotel machinery of the heaters or boilers or airconditioned or who knows what that made our stay a bit uncomfortable.
The area around the hotel is not exactly recommendable as it looked old and filthy.
So if you travel or have to board a cruiser, perfect; if not...
