The location is perfect for a visit to the city! The room was small but clean and modern. However there is no identification on the building marking the location, and the front desk is not staffed. We had to call to have the staff come and let us in to check into our room. Also our keycard stopped working on one day and we had to call to have it reset, our calls were not answered or returned right away, resulting in us locked out of our room for a few hours.

This is a nice apartment in Palermo's old town, within 10-15 min walk to the Norman Palace, the cathedral and il Capo market and 20-25 min to the old town. The room was very spacious and clean, the bathroom was also spotless clean. You have to go through the living room to get to the bathroom but since we were the only ones in the apartment it was OK. We had access to the kitchen but we didn't really need to use it. Laura is very friendly and welcoming and gave us terrific recommendations for what to see and do in the limited time we had. We very much enjoyed the pastry shop she recommended (Bistro Capello, right next to Porta Nuova near the Norman Palace) - probably the best ricotta cannoli in town. With regards to parking - the house is within the ZTL however there's plenty of parking on the street a block up. We were actually lucky as the ZTL is not active on the weekend and were able to park right outside of the house.

I would recommend this hotel to any traveller (except maybe if you have mobility issues as there are a lot of steps up to the rooms). The hotel is right in the middle of the historic area with a 20 minute walk to the Capuchin Catacombs in one direction and to the water front in the other. Our 'room' was huge and was actually a self-contained apartment with beautiful high ceilings. We only had one interaction with staff upon arrival but she was very friendly and welcoming. There is parking near by, but the streets are VERY narrow if you want to park right by the hotel. However, a 2 minute walk away there is plenty of parking in a square and on the street. I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.

Very well located; the houses around it look a bit shabby, but Casa Orioles is elegant on the inside, and has terrific value for money. Also, the owner was nice and helpful. I definitely recommend it!

The large palace rooms, refurbished with good taste, combined with the buzz of the central old Palermo made for an unforgettable experience. I cannot believe we had this occasion for this price. And the host was very helpful, he waited for us and accompanied us to show the route to take by car.

I highly recommend this place and would love to return if given the chance. Casa Orioles defies the whirlwind of noise and activity outside and provides its visitors with an oasis of serenity and beauty. One has very easy access to many of Palermo's ancient treasures while at the same time feeling connected to the daily life of the city. I even think the stables in the alley next door are a positive attraction! The management is very nice and helpful and the atmosphere excellent.

We were welcomed by the owner who was extremely nice (almost don't expect to see her often, make sure you ask all questions upon arrival, but she is easy to reach by email and replies very fast if you need). The apartment had everything we needed, very very spacious and clean. The neighborhood can be a little scary when you arrive since its in very little old streets, but the location is just perfect! Right beside the Cathedral, easy access to everywhere in Palermo's historic center.

The apartment house is situated in the very buzz of Palermo’s old town. We were given an ENORMOUS apartment, not less than 100 sq. m., consisting of huge antechamber, big sitting room, huge bedroom with four-poster bed, kitchen, bathroom with essential toiletries, 3 balconies. Apartment is clean, furnishings are quite sparse (that’s advantage) and almost antique, pigeons’ poo on the balconies is in harmony with city’s mood. Small old TV shows nothing, but who needs it when you are in Palermo. Good quality wi-fi is free. Despite location in the middle of old town, it’s easy to find parking on the street or in the open courtyard behind guesthouse. The owner, Mrs Anna Maria gave us very detailed guidance where to go and what to see. In italian :) Turn left on the Porta di Castro street and during the day in couple of minutes you will get to the lively street market area, or in the buzz of the bars at night. Cathedral and many sights are in walking distance.
