One of our models works at this cafe, and generously brought our whole class a huge box of delicious, cream filled cannolis.I highly recommend. Address: Viale strozzi 8/r or via Nazionale, 33/A Pellizzano Val di Sole

Massimo was very sweet and kind and helpfull, but I did not like the location, Yes it is close to everything, but it just did not look and feel very good the Street it is in. The market is just Down the Street and the smell of fish and garbage is not good. You can not smell it in the room. There where other turist living in the apartement. And it could need some Update and renovation. But everything was very clean and the terrasse very nice. The aircon in the little tiny room for 4 people did not work as it should, so there was hot. The bunk bed was really bad!!! Get a new one... it was broken and really cheap. But this is of course very cheap instead of a more expensive hotel.

The owners were incredibly friendly and hospitable. It is very well organised with breakfast and an assortment of snacks and drinks permanently available, and it has a very cool interior decor and huge terrace filled with plants. It is extremely central allowing for exploration of Palermo on food. There is a fresh fruit market downstairs with amazing cherries which I strongly recommend. Cleaning comes every day and the owners are happy to give tips. Strongly recommended!

The location could not be more picturesque, in the middle of a busy street market area. The facilities are decorated with taste, in a contemporary style that brings a youthful note. Excellent bedding, the bathroom is minimalist but sufficient. Everything is clean, the manager (Massimo) is very helpful and fun to speak with. Go there, you will feel at home and a little bit Palermitan ! Just remember that unloading and loading your baggage necessitates the intervention of Massimo, as the B&B is located in an alley where cars have access with some difficulty. About 100 meters from the facilities you will find a pay car park, where your car will be secure for a very low fee if you leave it there for periods of 24 hours or multiple. Anyhow, you are in the center of Palermo and your car is of absolutely no use, especially with most of the central streets shut to private cars. Only use your car for going out of town (e.g; to Monreale). And say "ciao" to Massimo !

It was nice stay in la casa di marzapane. It was first time to visit Palermo and I didn't know anything about there, but I found the location was good to go to everywhere. Also, the owner, Geraldina and Pino were nice and helpful:) I liked the interior in the room as well!

I would like to thank Geraldina and Pino for being so kind ' generous and helpful I arrived to Palermo at the end of my 4 weeks traveling in south Italy and sicily' a little tierd and longing to my family left in Israel The hosts welcoming was so worming and cheering, and I am so grateful to them! The house is an old typed building , special decoreted , the outdoor terrace by the old 14th century wall everything made me feel at home not as a visitor The apartment is a short walking distance from the most inportant sites in the old towm of Palermo , the typical coulered market, near by the reatarounds is so beautiful and excitng Thank you dear Geraldina and Pino here I am keeping you deeply in my heart Ana Netzer-Sahy Israel , October 2012

Geraldina and Pino came to my family's rescue when the b&b we had previously arranged turned out to be unsuitable for our small children. When we arrived at Casa di Marzapane, we were greeted by The very sweet maid who looks after the place, making sure that it is clean in comfortable for everyone who stays. Later that day, the owners made it a point to greet us and provide tips for things to do/places to eat in the city. The neighborhood is perfect, very close to Teatro Massimo and the Quattro Conti, and right in the middle of the il Capo market, which I thought was one of the most interesting fruit/veg/fish/meat/cheese markets in all of Palermo. In certain ways, it is the markets, and in particular this one, that are the essence of the city. Despite the near-by presence of hawkers and market-goers though, Casa di Marzepane achieves a complete sense of tranquility (so rare in Palermo!), in particular on the outdoor terrace as the evening settles over the city. It was here that we enjoyed a take-out dinner (very good cous-cous at nearby Piazza Virgilio), or just a glass of wine to close the day. The owners only rent three rooms here, so you never have to share your precious peace and quiet with a crowd, either ;) We will be back!

We arrived here last minute as our pre-booked B&B was without water (as was most of the city). After unloading our car, Pino drove us to the parcheggio so we wouldn't get lost. He pointed us to a wonderful, authentic and delicious restaurant. It was clear that he and his partner do whatever is necessary to make their guests comfortable. There is a lovely living room with a beautiful terrace. The B&B is centrally located right by a lively market (yet it is peaceful at night). I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
