Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Centrally located haven within Taormina. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. The garden, terrace and rooftop room were excellent. Very helpful host who went out of his way to make our stay a good one.. Would highly recommend staying here. The additional free use of a beach club and transfer were an added bonus

Livio was a perfect host. Very accomdating and the location is excellent. Make use of the beach clubhouse (and Paulo the massues) as nice chance to escape the busy Taormia. Great amenities and highly recommended.

We stayed 7 nights with friends having one apartment each with use of the jacuzzi, the outdoor garden area as well free access to the Paradiso Beach Club. The apartments are typically small but have all the amenities you would need for a very comfortable stay. The apartments are ideally located, just a few steps from the main street where you will find all sorts of shops, cafes and restaurants. Our host Livio was easily contactable and only too pleased to help anytime we imposed on him with questions about tours, taxis, recommendations for eating out etc. The apartments are serviced daily. We would come back again and would highly recommend a stay whether short or long, alone or with another couple.

Let’s start with the good points! The location is excellent! About a 5 minute walk from the main gate into Taormina, a little tricky to find but google maps sorted that. We had been double booked the first night so Livio booked us in for 1 night at the ElJebel 5* hotel that is 2 mins walk away from the apartment which was amazing (I will do a separate review for that). The apartment itself is clean and tidy. We were met by Francesco at the hotel to help us with our luggage. We were given keys and the door code. Our apartment wasn’t quite ready so we went for lunch while we waited. We stayed in the standard apartment with the upstairs lounge. The WiFi is excellent. The cleaner was really sweet. The garden area was nice but we never used it. It was clean and tidy but there were things missing. The front door key wasn’t on the fob, Francesco dropped this down in the evening for us as I wasn’t happy to go out and leave it unlocked. There was an ironing board but no iron, a tablet that wasn’t charged with no charger and no toaster (a basic need for self catering I would have thought?) I emailed Livio who sorted this out within the next few days although a sandwich toaster is not a toaster! To be fair, I wasn’t planning on doing any ironing and we had our own iPads so this really wasn’t an issue for us. Let’s get it straight, this apartment is extremely basic! You are paying for the location. The facilities here could be so much better. The kettle is tiny, scaly and takes 20 minutes to boil! It needs replacing badly, as does the fridge which keeps NOTHING cold! The milk went off really quickly! And a toaster guys, come on, it’s a basic need! This could potentially be a fantastic apartment but for us it was ok, just a place to stay. The lounge upstairs is fab but no British tv channels at all, but a nice place to sit and read when it’s raining (it rained a lot). Also I think the mattress may need changing, I am covered in bites and I was only bitten at night. The sheets were clean so I can only assume it was the mattress? All in all, it wasn’t that bad. It was a great base for exploring. There is a lovely bar round the corner and loads of places to eat nearby. Would I go back? No, but I never go back anywhere twice! Would I recommend it? Yes as long as you are clear with what you’re getting.

This place is extremely well located right at the Piazza Duomo. There are only two rooms so not necessarily a hotel. More like a very large air bnb. But VERY nice. The place is exactly as it is presented in the pictures. It is clean and welcoming. Since this is more or a residence than a hotel just note you only get 1 - 2 towels and 1-2 soaps to shower with. No lotion and limited shampoo. There is not a front desk you can call down to for any amenities either. The couple did my check in virtually which was ok with me. But it's a bit inconvenient to have so little soap and limited towels when you want them. They also offer some day passes to the beach as part of your stay which is a nice gesture.

+ location was great, everything we needed was there, fast internet as well - not really a negative but the extra room upstairs is just a separate, enclosed balcony. One needs to exit the apt. to get there.

My husband booked this hotel for its location, I think. It is very central and not too far from where we parked our car, as you cannot drive into the piazzas, where the duomo is. The owner was very helpful and sent me all the directions on how to get there and where to park the car. This was a huge help. He met us near the carpark and took us to the villa. It is a very modern clean little place with full kitchen facilities, which would be fantastic if families wanted to spend a few days here. As we had only booked for one night, we did not need them. The bedroom upstairs was large and the bed was very comfortable. There is also a little ensuite upstairs which was great. The main bathroom was downstairs. It was comfortable but the shower was small. But the water pressure was great! Taormina is a beautiful town so we wanted to stay an extra night but unfortunately the place was fully booked, so the owner found us a small B&B for the extra night. He was very helpful and his english is quite good, as he had worked in the hotel business in London and Spain. I would recommend this villa for couples and families as there is also a small garden to relax in - quite a rarity in Taormina.

My mother and I stayed at Villa al Duomo for 3 nights, in a rainy week of February. We made the check-in through whatsapp, and Livio had everything settled upon our arrival. We had a two floor apartment, with a big and bright room upstairs. The sleep quality was very good, though sometimes you could hear people from the neighboring buildings (something completely common in Italy). It's perfectly located, in a backstreet just by the Duomo of Taormina. It was definitely one of the highlights from our trip to Sicily! Would come back for every vacation.

Tucked away behind the Piazza Duomo in a beautiful little lane is this hidden gem. We had the smaller of the two apartments, but it was just beautiful with a really lovely sitting room above the apartment for a wine and a relax watching TV or reading. There is a small kitchenette next to the bedroom that is small but practical. There is a very nice wine bar is at the foot of the stairs outside the apartment as are a number of other eating options within easy walk. Plenty of shops too. We would stay here again in a minute. Thank you Livio. Hint: as the owner does not live on site, make sure you advise you're arrival time via email or phone to ensure he is there to greet you.
