I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights during my business trip in Florence , the room was clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful but the only thing that bothered me more than anything else during my stay was too much noise ! You feel the walls made out of paper & you could hear everything I mean EVERYTHING from next rooms & hearing people passing by in the corridor !
The room was clean but very basic , they are a few drinks in refrigerator & complementary coffee pods & bottle of water in the room but other than breakfast there is no other thing to eat at the hotel ( there is small bar for drinks until mid night ) and for any kind of food you need to go out of the hotel to find something to eat , luckily they are a few nice restaurants around .
If you need tooth brush or sleepers they are not in the room but if you ask the receptionist they will give them to you . Breakfast is simple and good but it’s always the same if you are deciding to stay long like me so you might look for something new from day 4 !
There is a spare toilet paper roll in the bath room but they placed it at ceiling height so if you are petite Like me you need to find a stick or something to drop and use it ! There is parking available in the hotel but there is additional cost for that . The location of hotel is not very close to old city and it’s around 15-20 min walk .
There is no USB port in the room . In general the hotel is very beautiful and room is clean and you are getting very good service from the staff but you can say it’s Italian standard 4 star hotel and it doesn’t meet many standards of international 4 star hotels .

Had a fabulous short break Monday to Friday in Florence, I chose this hotel as it is nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle but still only 15-20
mins walk to the centre, a nice selection of restaurants in the immediate area. The hotel was immaculate and the rooms were well equipped, yes the sound proofing isn’t the best but after a days walking it didn’t stop us from sleeping, if you are a light sleeper would recommend some ear plugs. The breakfast was very nice and plenty of choice, all of the staff are very friendly and helpful and a special mention to the wonderful barman Alessio who is a genuinely lovely guy and so very interesting to talk too, not to mention an excellent bar tender a real asset to the hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed a couple of drinks on an evening in the bar after a busy day. If we are lucky enough to return to Florence again we wouldn’t hesitate to return to this hotel.

The hotel made our trip to Florence! It’s clean, beautifully decorated, features a lot of open spaces, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The location suited us perfectly- away fro the noisier Duomo area, which is still easily accessible on foot. Also close to Boboli gardens and some excellent Trattorias and artistic shops.

We had tried for a larger, deluxe room but couldn’t get one but to be honest the small double room was excellent and the bed and bed linen good quality. Windows overlooked the outside garden area. Everyone staying at the hotel seemed quiet so although the rooms are not that soundproofed we never heard our neighbors and the hallway traffic noise was soft voiced. We asked them for a quiet room and we’re given one towards the end of the corridor (thank you!).
The breakfast buffet is excellent as is the reception area that has a large bar area and cosy sofa seating. There’s outdoor seating areas too- just bring some mosquito spray since they’re abundant in Florence (or were when we were there). However the bats that fly around the entrance early evening do a good job (bats can apparently eat 1,000 mosquitoes an hour! GO BATS!!!)
Cherish at the front desk was extremely helpful and pointed us to some great local restaurants. Thank you!
Olga at the bar was great too - they offer some good wines and other drinks.
I cannot fault this hotel and hope to return one day.

Could not have found a better location for our city break. Situated on the opposite side of the river to the centre, the hotel was within walking distance of all the main attractions. The area was full of restaurants, all reasonably priced.
Lovely hotel, exceptionally well presented with several nice touches like a welcome cocktail, espresso coffee and bottled water in the room and a gift of Biscotti biscuits on departure. Very comfortable and clean bedrooms, spacious bathrooms and an excellent continental style breakfast to start the day.
The best feature is the friendly and helpful team of staff, always happy to offer advice on where to go and where to eat. Thank you for a great stay.

This Hotel is a hidden gem. Love this place for many reasons … The Oltrarno Area of Florence where it is located is interesting and unique. The location of this converted convent affords it a lovely park-like protection from the wild tourist impact of Florence. 15 Min walk through Oltrarno Neighborhood (jewel) to get to the main Piazza’s, Museums, Shopping of Florence. 5 Min taxi. Well worth the location to have the zen of this Hotel. Their B’fast is tops. Beds comfy, Bathrooms very good !! If you have a car there is free parking and easy drive to hotel avoiding the craziness of FLO traffic. Including a photo of The most kind employee ever experienced working at a hotel. He is “one in a million” and Horto Convento fortunate to have him on their team. All of the folks working there are great ! Thank You. We stayed for 4 nights ! This will always be our spot to stay when in Florence ! ❤️

I’ve just checked out yesterday from Hotel Horto Convento and I had a fantastic stay. My room was perfect, the bathroom was new and beautiful. I thought the location was great and Giovanni at the front desk was extremely helpful and attentive to anything I needed. The breakfast and parking were also easy and good. I’d definitely stay again! Thank you!

Hotel Horno Convento is an amazing respite within walking distance to the heart of Florence. The staff’s attention, kindness, and flexibility were unsurpassed. Returning to this lovely place on the opposite side of the Arno was fantastic giving me a sense of calm, safety and hospitality
A special thank you to the staff:
• Giovanni could have not been more helpful from our first night providing suggestions and entertaining commentary.
• Breakfast each morning with Huda and the rest of the staff was wonderful with the most amazing Cappuccinos! I had to stop at three!
• George was a life saver as my trip was extended and he kindly worked to accommodate my request for two extended stays, thankfully rearranging so I did not have to search for another hotel in the city on short notice.
• Irene and Charity accommodated our requests for recommendations, printing documents needed for traveling and always had a friendly smile.
• Allessio at the bar enhanced my takeout dinner on the back patio with a wonderful glass of Sangiovese.

The location is perfect; a brief walk to the center of Florence and all the sites at hand while at the same time that brief walk back to a peaceful oasis to rest and recharge. I spent many hours on your breakfast patio as well as front fountain area relishing the peaceful environment.

I would I will return to this phenomenal location without hesitation and recommend it heartily to anyone visiting this beautiful city

The hotel is clean and in a great location on the less touristy side of Florence. Our room was spacious, would benefit a little extra storage, full length mirror and kettle (although we were able to get hot water from the bar).
The hotel staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The continental breakfast is reasonable, personally I would prefer more fruit and to have had some fresh baked bread but my husband enjoyed the other options.
There is a small garden area at the front of the hotel which is a lovely place to sit and have a quiet cocktail, listen to the birds and relax after a busy day in Florence.
However the downside to this hotel is noise (internal)! I appreciate it is an old building (which is part of its charm) however you can hear EVERYTHING from your neighbours! Guests need to have a little hotel etiquette and be thoughtful. Personally I think the hotel needs to be reminding guests that between 10pm and 7am they need to be quiet!
Apart from lack of sleep due to noise, it is a lovely hotel.

What a gem in the best neighborhood of Florence! This was our first time in Florence and so I chose this hotel because we like to stay out of the touristy areas and it needed to be somewhere quiet, as both my husband and I are light sleepers.
Well the Hotel Horto Convento could not be the more perfect place. It is tucked away from the street, next to a convent with wonderful gardens. We were pleasantly greeted at the front desk by Giovanni who was kind and gracious.
The room was a standard room and was small but fit our needs. The bed was firmer than we are used to but we didn’t have any troubling sleeping. AC worked wonderfully!
Downstairs bar was perfect for aperitivo, which comes with snacks. You can drink inside or outside in the garden which is just gorgeous. Drinks made by our favorite bartender, Alessio, were outstanding! Alessio is fantastic, offering recommendations and just being a wonderful person whom my husband and I adored.
The buffet breakfast included was fantastic. Great service and you order whatever coffee you want and they bring it to your table. There were lots of choices for all types of breakfast eaters: eggs, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, breads and fresh pastries. It did not disappoint.
Location was fantastic! Lots of options for eating, drinking or shopping all within walking distance. And it was only a 10 min walk across the bridge to the historic center. Fantastic experience with a fantastic hotel! We will be coming back for sure!

This is a small hotel adjacent to a Convent...hence, the name. It is a little difficult to find but our drivers (taxi driver from the airport and limo driver to the airport) had no problems. There a a limited number of room which adds to the charm. Our suite was located near the end of a hall. It was very quiet and large. The staff was very welcoming and made the experience more enjoyable. The breakfast each morning was great. The hotel also has a garden area where you can dine for breakfast or just relax during the day.
