DO NOT STAY HERE! I don't know how this place is still available to book online! It smells it's dirty the sheets aren't clean and there's graffiti on the walls. The guy who runs the place is only here for an hour in the day and an hour at night my friend booked this place for us and did no...

I think everyone should be aware before her/his own actions. Maybe I wasn't when I booked this accomodation because of an overnight in Florence. I would never thought I could have ended in a no window single room, displaying dirty walls, no windows, no hot water, no phone or internet signal inside (not even in the bathroom or along the...

Okay, the price is good, location is great, but the place is just dirty.. The owner (it was the only person I met there, as a part of the staff) is very nice and helpful, but I guess he's doing everything alone in there.. My room had no window, smelled of old,wet cigarettes and was so loud (I could hear...

The only good thing I can write about this place is the ""LOCATION"" The owner is messy. The place is dirty and noisy. It is truly a shame because the place has lot of potential to be good. The owner offers WIFI but in reallity this does not work. Very dissapointing.

Honestly, I can't believe there would be a worst place to stay than this. When we arrived the receptionist/owner, opened the door and we got into the corridor which stinked in cigarette. The corridor is dark and completely dirty. The owner/receptionist was smoking and was not wearing pants. He showed us our room which was unbelievable dirty: sheets from previous...

I'm hoping to write thus and help million of tourists to not make the same mistake. The owner/receptionist arrived 2 hours late so we had time to check some empty rooms that look disgusting (and I have stayed in multiple hostels before) smelled like a dead corpse and everyone else that was staying were complaining about cleanliness and lack of...

I've been a backpacker for quite some time, but this hostel sucked the most. The rooms are very small and packed with too many quite uncomfortable cots. There are a lot (!) of mosquitos, because there's no AC and you have to sleep with your windows open. There's no common room, no kitchen or even space to put your luggage....

Ok well this place is as good as one can really expect from a hostel. The location is pretty central, and it is of course VERY cheap so if you're looking for value this is the place for you. That being said the over all cleanliness of the place is pretty shoddy. There are no seats on the toilet so...

I stayed 1 night in september, this was already my second time 2 years ago, I was already there in June for 2 nights, and I sleeped in the same room and in the same bed, in a 5-bed-dormitory. Held by a nice young hostelcarer, this hostel should be the No 1 of hostels in Florence, for the price, the...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
