Fantastic stay at this tucked away Tuscan villa in the quiet hills of Florence. The place itself is very calm & peaceful, slightly outside the busy streets of the main town itself. There is a shuttle bus running throughout most of the day, every hour from the hotel to the town centre and back again, which saves €25 roughly each way.

We found all of the staff to be very attentive & helpful, rooms were regularly cleaned and of very good quality.

Our breakfast was included and was always delightful, especially with the views down onto Florence itself. We also had lunch & dinner in the restaurant, which was lovely, albeit slightly more expensive than external restaurants we found, but in all honesty that's to be expected given the quality of the surroundings!

The pool area is lovely, you can easily spend a day or two of your trip here, a short walk down, although transport via a golf cart can be provided upon request, along with towels. Spa area is also included and very relaxing.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here & would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break in Florence.

It is very refreshing to stay in an individual and independently owned hotel . It does in someways make it hard to compare and review benchmark hotels that I have previously stayed in . I can only review it on my own personal thoughts.
You approach the hotel up a long and winding drive not appreciating the stunning look of the Villa . A lovely welcome awaited us . The view from the restaurant terrace overlooking Florence is breathtaking and the food from their small menu was delightful, quite possibly the finest club sandwich I have ever eaten . The service through out our stay was perfect with a special shout out to Christiano by the pool who was so sweet and very attentive.
Each of the bedrooms are very different in size and style. We got to see a few of them as we were staying with a number of friends. Our room overlooking the side of the property seemed like it had been recently updated , but the other rooms we saw were equally as nice.
The location of the hotel is perfect , Tuscan surroundings yet 12 minutes in a cab to the centre of Florence.
In my opinion there is no need to stay in the centre of the city when you could be staying at Il Salviatino and having the best of both worlds.
A delightful spacious character property with discrete and attentive service moments from the crowded bustling city of Florence.
What’s not to look !?

Il Salviatino is a stunning hotel, located in a wonderful building just below Fiesole, with incredible views over Florence. It was lovely to return here after the noise and heat if the city.
The decor of the hotel is beautiful - everything looks and smells incredible.
Our room was large, and on request we were given a room with a bath - many just have showers.
The breakfast was the best we have had in Italy - a great selection of sweet, savoury and freshly cooked eggs.
The one area that let the hotel down was the pool, which looked tired. Slightly tatty, with a plastic liner and mismatched faded umbrellas. The pool bar was also underwhelming, with shabby furnishings and disappointing (though expensive) food.
We still enjoyed our time by the pool, but this area definitely needs an upgrade to bring it up to the level of the rest of the hotel.

This place seems like it has just been taken over by new management but at the same time they've hired staff with close to zero experience. From the moment we got there nothing went right. Our first room had rubbish AND A SOILED TOWEL in the chest of drawers when we checked in. When we told them they offered to clean the room!!! No thanks. So we moved rooms. The room also had holes in the chair fabric. The next 4 rooms we saw were all bad in their own way. The ones with the nice view were all too small. Finally after 2 days they showed us a room at night and tricked us into taking it but then in the morning realised it had zero natural light and only had portal sized windows. It also had no view. What a disappointment of a hotel. None of the rooms have balconies. The cleaners also once walked in without knocking even though the do not disturb sign was on. On another night they just outright didn't turn down the room and when we questioned them they tried to tell us our do not disturb sign must have been on this time.

The staff were mostly outright incompetent. More than half just didn't speak English. This is strange for Italy - I've travelled around Italy for 20 years and never had such a poor level of English even in the lesser tourist areas.

They had no idea about the Tablet Plus extras like the welcome drink and free mini bar so we had to remind them (and never got the welcome drink).

The staff didn't tell us about breakfast ending at 1030 and first morning tried to get breakfast at 1040 and they were closed. They then tried to charge us 14 euros for 2 coffees because we missed breakfast.

They also didn't tell us that there was a shuttle service into Florence every hour. I literally asked 2 different people 2 different times whether we should drive or get a taxi, and after both driving once and getting a taxi once, on our last night we were finally informed about the bus.

The swimming pool from the pictures is a bit of a lie. The pool is basically on a different property and they offer a golf cart service to get to it. The good deck chairs go early so you either have to sit below the pool or on regular chairs (not lie flat).

It was an absolute waste of 4 days. Completely ruined our Tuscan holiday. I urge you NOT to stay there as I wouldn't want anyone else to have such a bad experience.

Wow! That sums up our stay at Il Salviatino! The hotel is perched and overlooking the historical city of Florence with the Duomo dominating the view. On arrival, we were looked after by Paul, the concierge. He was so friendly but always remained professional. All the staff were so friendly. Nico looked after us during most mealtimes and deserves a special mention too! Our double deluxe room was big and very spacious with very tall windows overlooking the beautiful gardens at the front of the hotel. The bed was so comfy with a great mix of pillows to suit all. The air-conditioned room was much-needed as it was so hot. Our stay was based on room and breakfast but we chose to eat at the restaurant a number of times as the quality of the food was fantastic as was the wine menu! The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the historic centre which was great. The driver was so friendly and helpful. He was so patient allowing me to speak the little Italian that I have learned. We had breakfast served in our room one morning as we arrived back at the hotel so late after the Andrea Bocelli concert...at 1.45am!! Lovely to be spoilt like that though!! The breakfasts were always delicious with plenty of choice. We used the swimming pool a few times. Lovely heated pool with helpful staff providing us with towels on arrival and drinks too! To sum up, if you want true luxury, then Il Salviatino is the hotel to enjoy!

We were on a 10 night tour of Italy, having started in Bellagio, Lake Como. We had 4 nights in this hotel. We loved the peace and tranquility of the Hotel, the style is very elegant, and it smells gorgeous from all the diffusers around! When I asked for an ironing board and kettle, it arrived very promptly. Loved the Pool area and the terrace offers a fab view of Florence. Special mention to Paul the Concierge for his friendly, helpful service. All good. However, we found it odd that the Shuttle Bus doesn’t run on the hour all day. Why have such a big gap? It means that you can’t just do a morning in Florence, as the first bus back in the afternoon is 4pm. Taxis to and from central Florence are expensive - expect to pay around 35 euros each way!
Service on the Terrace is very hit and miss. On our first morning we came down to breakfast at 7.30am when it opened as we had tickets booked for a Museum visit. It was a little cool so asked to sit indoors. We were the only guests around. Rather than see to us straight away, the Waiter finished laying out tables for invisible guests, while we waited. It all seemed a lot of trouble for him. We ordered two pots of coffee, one with Oat milk and one with normal milk. Two pots of tea arrived, no oat milk. So we ordered them again, and exactly the same thing happened. So we ended up ordering Cappuccinos as it was easier! Surely with so many Americans staying, black americanos with hot milk is not too difficult to understand! There was one young male waiter who was very good (sorry, didn’t get his name), but in general it seemed like they needed someone to organise them better. If these service issues could be addressed, this Hotel would get my 5 stars.

Dear Cathym506, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed experience with us. Your comments and feedback are precious so we can better improve our service. Happy to read that housekeeping and concierge staff were very efficient. As for the restaurant, I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused. As the season is changing and temperatures drop, we understand that customers are now looking to get warmer in the heart of the hotel rather than the outdoor terrace. I have asked our Food and Beverage Team to be more attentive to in-house hosts staying indoor as fall starts. Again, thank you very much for sharing your experience and very much looking forward to having you again at il Salviatino Firenze. Warm regards, Nicolas Auger General Manager

Il Salviatino is entirely straight out of a movie.
Just the ride up through the rolling hills appears through the trees a stunning villa that looks like a dream.

Each and every room you walk in is romantically detailed, including beautiful fresh flowers and candles lit every evening. Making it feel idillic, escaping away to an old movie film. Walking or dining out on the terrace to see the breathtaking views of Florence. Making you want to soak up every moment.

Not only are the views amazing, but every single staff member was above and beyond at their job with just absolute lovely smiles and greetings, making my whole experience that much more memorable. Especially Gridius, manager of the food and beverage. He always made sure everything was running properly and exceeding expectations of service.

Couldn’t ask for a more magical stay while being in Florence. One visit won’t be enough, because you will gravitate back again and again. As I’m planning my next trip..

Think White Lotus meets Nine Perfect Strangers! Nestled in the hills above Florence this 16th century Italian mansion has a magical mysterious charm. Every room and area is an architectural designer delight providing a procession of luxurious spaces each with their own unique qualities inviting you to pause, linger and enjoy. They all culminate on the terrace with outstanding views of Florence, the star performer.

The room was elegant and the bathroom beautifully clad in marble. We received a gourmet welcome treat which previewed the restaurant’s high standard. Also, we utilised the pool which was refreshing and in excellent condition and the massage was possibly the best ever experienced! The only drawback I hesitate to add is that our wish for the AC to be cooler but we are Australian and prefer it that way.

Il Saviatino is an oasis of calm & serenity amid the Florentine tourist hustle and bustle. It is truly a sensory experience; with flowers, art work, gourmet treats, the warm sun and nature. Romantic, indulgent and luxurious is descriptive of the hotel. The staff are professional and discreet yet friendly and warm with further enquiry. We very much enjoyed our stay at this fairytale Italian Villa.

Our second stay with Il Salvatino
We have been waiting for opening of this place after their 2 years being closed.
It is our top location while visiting Florence- you have got views / a lot of space/ car parking/ quiet and peace!
This time we had probably the loveliest apartment newly redesigned- with big windows and breathtaking view over the Florence
The only downgrade of this hotel was a food - during our first visit food quality was better.
So far this is still our top of the notch place in Florence with the best value/price ratio

Me and my girlfriend had the most wonderful stay at Salviatino. It was a true inspiration to walk around the property as everything is so well thought through.

Our room was big and spacious with the most comfortable bed.

We received a warm welcome and all staff was great, especially Gabriele working at the pool area, making sure we had everything we needed before we even knew it ourselves.

Also, a massage is a must! The masseuse was incredible.

We will definitely come back!
