First and foremost it has nice views of the Duomo from a spacious apartment in the perfect location. It’s clean, good bathroom and showers (though weirdly in the middle of the room). Nice touch to have a nespresso machine and complimentary Prosecco.

But do not confuse it for a hotel. It’s more of an AirBnB with minimal information on procedures. Specifically, there was no procedure to check out. Staff were not helpful and misled us about ability to leave luggage after checking out (not possible). Nobody was there to collect keys on a Sunday.

So, hopefully you have a morning train from Florence or your own car — otherwise you’ll be stuck carrying your bags throughout the city on the day you check out. If you check out on a Sunday, use your FOB to open the large doors, leave your key on the reception deck and run out before the doors close again!

The Firenze Repubblica apartments are well located in the heart of Florence; you can explore the whole city on foot and have one of the best views of the city.
The apartments are within a mixed use apartments building, but they are secure and there is a reception area as you walk in through the large wooden doors (note: this is a day only concierge area for the building, as opposed to a reception for the guests of these apartments, but the staff who are present when it is open are helpful and welcoming). Upon arrival, follow the address specified to find the apartments, and you are greeted by a positive and helpful management member. The management team give you contact details too if you happen to need them during your stay.
The apartment itself is spacious, nicely decorated and generally well maintained. The view from your terrace is the highlight and unique selling point. It is stunning and well worth every penny. The terrace is a good size so you can relax there too. The apartment appears to be sound proofed as you hear no noise at all, it is also fully air conditioned/heated. The Prosecco was a nice touch on arrival, and you are equipped with essentials such as shampoo etc. as well as a large umbrella which was very useful! The shower although in the middle of the room, has a privacy curtain if you wish to use as well. I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a central, attractive apartment with a beautiful view. We were only here for a weekend, but as it’s so well located, you can see so much of what Florence has to offer thanks to this. It is also next to two taxi ranks which is helpful as Uber isn’t really available here.

One tiny thing to note: there is no safe in the apartment we stayed in. This would be a great addition!

I booked this apartment through lastminute.com. When we arrived at the apartment we found that lastminute.com had purchased our booking from Agoda, who had not bothered to advise the apartment owner that we had made a booking. When we contacted the apartment owner he was very helpful and put us in a large luxurious apartment just up the road as this Domux was fully booked. I would recommend these apartments, they are high class and service is brilliant, just don't use lastminute.com as they are useless. Thank you so much to the apartment owner for helping us, we really appreciate it.

Beautiful apartment with incredible view of the Duomo. Nice size apartment, very modern and nicely appointed. View directly on the Duomo. Nice terrace to enjoy. Lovely bathroom, though I didn't like the glass enclosed shower in the middle of the room. Small kitchen to do some cooking. Great location. Quiet. They were helpful in receiving a package I had sent to the apartment.

Check in process was bad. They asked me to meet someone at 2. He did not show up until 2:35, no communication that he would be late. I called their number multiple times, but no one ever answered the phone. They did provide a bottle of wine as an apology, but it did not make up for the aggravation at the moment. The apartment is managed by a hotel group. They were hard to contact. They did respond to emails. This is not a hotel so don't expect service. Apartment is in an office building, however there are 2 cafe/bars down stairs.

We stayed for 4 nights in the Strozzi suite at Platinhome. Generally we were impressed with the suite. The location was fantastic.

The building itself is huge and the ground floor houses Cafe Paszowski and Cafe Gilli with an entrance between the 2. We were met at the door by a very friendly Russian girl - ?Elena who copied our passports and showed us up to the suite. It was 5 floors in the lift (past government offices) and then up a flight of stairs.

Within the suite there was a king size bed, living room, kitchenette and balcony. The main feature is of course the huge shower in the middle of the room. The shower comes with 2 showerheads with separate temperature controls, mood lighting and both steam and mist. It is definitely big enough for two although if you aren't feeling quite so friendly, it is possible to shield the bedroom and shower from the living room with a huge curtain.

The kitchenette had a sink, hob, microwave and fridge. There were a few bottles in the fridge (v. expensive - 6 euros for a small bottle of water when they only cost 1.50 euros in any bar) but nothing else and no coffee (despite the coffee machine).

We had to sign a tenancy agreement which seemed a bit odd and couldn't make the internet work. Cleaners came every morning, made the bed and replaced the towels. When we left we checked out about midday and were then allowed to leave our bags in the suite until we needed to go.

A few tips - bring some DVD's - there were no non-Italian television channels. Also, don't try going to either Cafe Gilli or Cafe Paszowski - over priced with very poor service.

We booked the Uffizi suite and this was just great ! Very spacious, 2 bath rooms and a big jacuzzi in the bedroom. Also spacious terrace outside with cosy lounge chairs. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Duomo apartment in Piazza della Repubblica was very well located and perfect for two people. It has an outfitted kitchen (keep in mind that you must buy everything including salt, pepper, oil etc) and has a really great view of the Duomo. Of note, the wifi that is included is actually fairly fast for Italian standards. The bed is comfortable and the furnishings pretty serviceable. The thing that left a very lackluster impression for me was the service by the team running these apartments. We were met on time and given keys to the apartment. Long story short, little service miscues (no coffee one day, a request to change the cleaning schedule) were met with utter....SILENCE. To my four emails I received exactly one response remonstrating me to use a different email address. Upon arranging a check out time no one showed up. I received a note from someone on the team whom I had not met apologizing. I followed up with some comments on service excellence and I'm still waiting on that response now three days later.

In summary, this is a nice apartment in a good location and the price is right given other luxury hotel rates. If you require lots of interaction, restaurant suggestions, small issues that you need assistance with, I'd say this is probably not the place for you.

This place is truly awesome. A representative of the property met us at the door when we arrived and gave us her cell phone number as a resource for anything we needed during our stay. The location is in the heart of Florence and could not be better. From the moment we placed the key into the enormous door of this building in the middle of a the bustling Piazza della Repubblica we were intriqued. Although the Piazza was full of commotion, once we arrived to our rooftop apartment (The Strozzi) it was totally peaceful. They sent housekeeping at our convenience to add to our comfort. There was extraordinary, customized detail to every appointment in the unit. The subtle lighting, backlit marble headboard, simple, yet luxurious furnishings, fireplace, rooftop deck and incredible shower, just name a few of the things that gave this place so much character. The unusual shower, encased in glass had two huge rain heads and an assortment of special effects including, steam, a cool mist and lighting effects. Top it off with sensational sunsets from the rooftop deck, with views of the Doumo and we didn't want to leave. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in Florence.

This review is for the Opera suite in via Risacoli. Platinhome has suites in two locations, and all rooms are slightly different. The Opera suite is on the 1st floor, and was a very pleasant stay for us (two adults plus two teens). Even the sofa bed was very comfortable and spacious (I would guess 180 cm width). Two separate bathrooms is also a big plus. Everything is just as excellent as advertised on their web page. The only minus is that this particular suite did not have any oven facilities in the kitchen, limiting the options for preparing our own food. According to Platinhome staff, this is the only suite where they did not find place to fit this.

The suite has a small terrace facing the backyard (approx 15 sqm). There only a small period of sun there in the morning, but it is still a nice place to get some fresh air when it’s not too hot. The similarly configured ground floor suite has a rather large outdoor area, but even less sun.

Area is as central as it can get, between Duomo and Accademia. Via Riascoli has very little traffic, and with an apartment facing the backyard we never heard any traffic noise. There is a small supermarket just down the street, as well as a laundromat around the corner.

From the moment we arrived in the impressive, and eleganty appointed Republicca Square we were completely taken with both the vibrancy of city and the luxurious apartment that we thankfully opted to stay in. The Medicia exclsuive suite simply exceeded all expectations and provided us the perfect base from which to explore this special city. We had an amazing view of the Dome from our private balcony, which in the sun setting twighlight made it look almost mystical. And, what more could you ask for after a hard day trawling the winding streets and absorbing the Florentine history in the many museums than a HUGE, powerful and relaxing jacuzzi, which dominated the middle of our apartment. There is also a huge rainfall shower and even a selection of different lighting to suit your mood. The apartment was very spacious and provided significant wardrobe space and a comfortable kingsize bed. The kitchen area was useful and there was also a large dining table and chairs which we used daily to eat breakfast. The doors to enter the main building are about 30ft high and it makes you feel like you are staying in some sort of palace when you open them at night to get in! The location of the apartment couldn't be better, you can be anywhere in the centre of town within 10 minutes by foot.
The suites were managed by a very helpful lady called Maarja who was always available to ask questions, reccomend places to eat and drink and make reservations.
We enjoyed Florence very much and the Medicea suite really helped make the trip an unforgettably special and romantic experience. Finally, the icing on the cake came when I confirmed my booking and I was asked if there was any particular songs or artists that I would like to be playing when we entrered the room!! And, to my utter amazement, we were given a memory stik full of songs and artsists that we like which were indeed playing upon our arrival and which we kept to use throughout our stay. If you can stay here, do it, you will not be disappointed.
