The property looks better in the pictures. The location is not very convenient to anything. It is out of Florence, but not as quiet as you may expect. There is a train station nearby and you can hear the trains. Once we got there, there was no help to be had with getting the luggage up several flights of stairs....

We stayed at this property last night and greatly enjoyed it. Immediately upon entering, you feel like you're in a mini fairy tale. The castle overlooks the entire city of Florence from a hill. We stayed in the cellar of Fra Angelico, and it was so much fun! The room overlooked Florence, with a beautiful view of the Duomo. The...

This ins't a typical restaurant, but you get a very personal service and great food. The view from spring till early fall from the dinning room is wonderful. There is no hectic here, and as the sun sets you can enjoy the view towards Florence over a wonderful bottle of wine and some very great local food.

Romantic charming sweet B&B We spent a very romantic stay at the Castello, that doesn’t have any surprise ghosts in it’s cellar. Charming staff, and just the right kind of rough charming atmosphere from the outside, with a splendid view from it’s delightful romantic rooms. For one the Castello borders on the southern edge of Florence and lies with view...

We booked this hotel as the highlight of our trip around Italy, and were not disappointed with either the hotel or Florence. The reception was helpful and welcoming, answering all our queries prior to arrival and printing out bus timetables and lots of advice to help us enjoy our stay. We had the choice of one of the 'cell' rooms...

I cannot recommend Castello Montalbano enough! It was absolutely magical! The castle is beautiful and guests have several spaces to explore and enjoy including the roof and tower of the castle. The rooms are lovely and the views are breathtaking (Tuscan hills and Florence). Barbara, the host, really made our experience wonderful. She is very sweet and accommodating. Whenever she...

It has been a very nice weekend! I love Florence and I've always loved to sleep in a castle with my beloved boyfriend. So we decided to spend a couple of nights at the Castello di Montalbano and we couldn't have made a better choice. The athmosphere is really magic, the room was clean, staff was helpful and friendly and...

This was my first trip to Italy, but I`m sure that every tourist would enjoy staying at this old castle. Prices were good, a quiet location and a wonderful view. I appreciated the fact that the owners were very nice and they spoke really good English. If I will visit Florence again, I will be back at this castle. I...

Very neat authentic old castle. Rooms were clean, and although small were logically furnished and arranged. Grounds were well kept; not "golf course" but reasonable. Garden was being renovated. Bathroom was outrageously small, but I guess this is common in Europe. Sink in shower did not work, but this was quickly fixed. The view was gorgeous. Owners were nice; we...
