This was the perfect choice for us to land after a long travel day from the States. The Hermitage oozes charm, from the sitting room over looking the Arno and the Ponte Vecchio to the rooftop terrace covered in flowers, where on one side of...More
This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in in Italy. It was quaint, with unique pieces of antique furniture, the staff were friendly and helpful, the roof terrace a perfect sunny spot to sit and have a beer and look over the...More

This was my 2nd stay at the Hotel Hermitage and I thoroughly enjoyed it AGAIN! It's location RIGHT at the Ponte Vecchio is great. It can be a little loud due to street noise (we noticed this on the 2nd floor but not the 4th)....More

Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the
Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

There is no direct bus from the hotel to get to Piazzale Michelangelo. You have to take first the bus D (stop: ponte alle grazie- Direction: Piazza Ferrucci) arriving in Piazza Ferrucci. In piazza Ferrucci then you have to take the bus number 13, direction: Piazzale Michelangelo, arriving directly there.
Coming back, you take the bus n. 13 and you stop at the train station. From there, you can walk to the hotel or take a taxi.
Walking from the hotel to the piazzale takes about 30 minutes.

The hotel has a small elevator but you will have to walk up one flight of stairs from the street to reach it. You will be given a code to use it while you are there. The office is on the fifth floor. There is one more flight of stairs after that to get to the roof terrace which is wonderful for drinks and snacks at night and breakfast in the morning.
