This is a great hotel. Slightly off the beaten path, but ten minutes from the Duomo on a quiet side street. The staff is very helpful. The rooms are large by European standards and very very comfortable. Breakfast is European and has a large selection of cereals, breads, fruits and cheeses. It was a birthday celebration trip. On our return...

This hotel is close to some of the greatest spots to see in Florence like the dome and gardens. The thing we really enjoyed was while it is within walking distance it is far enough off the main streets to find great local restaurants for dinner. The hotel itself is charming and the staff are wonderful and helpful. We had...

We spent 2 nights in the Monna Lisa earlier this month. If you want ultra modern amenities then choose a 5 star. The atmosphere and the general ambience of this hotel was tremendous and added, immeasurably, to our Florence experience. Our bedroom was very much furnished in a fin de siècle style. The plumbing was a little idiosyncratic but added,...

We stayed at hotel Monna Lisa for three nights. It is centrally located, only 5 minutes walk to the Duomo. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. It's a beautiful hotel. But the beds were extremely uncomfortable. I've never stayed in a hotel with beds like this. We all left with aching shoulders. Our room was facing the street...

Very nice hotel with good services and excellent personal. It is nicely decorated with historical paintings, funny jokes about Mona Lisa. Room was perfect. Comfortable bed and nice room. Room and hotel are like a museum. Breakfast was very good and excellent service. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed three nights at the Monna Lisa in December and our visit could not have been more perfect. The hotel was charming, historic, clean, pleasant and overall just lovely. The front desk staff were always available to assist us and had fantastic recommendations during our stay. Located close to just about everything, including all major sights, fantastic restaurants and...

I have just spent four nights at the Monna Lisa hotel and am already wondering when I can go back! My room was very nice, bed comfortable, bathroom modern and clean with a lovely warm shower. The staff were friendly and very helpful. They arranged museum reservations and a taxi to the airport. Breakfast was included in the incredibly good...

We stayed 3 nights at the Monna Lisa in early January. Yes it's a short walk off the Duomo square, but it's very close to everything including great local coffee shops. The staff were amazing in particular Erica on the front desk who's recommendations for dinner did not miss and was super helpful in arranging activities. Vincenzo who runs the...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
