Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

BED BUGS!!! Location is great, breakfast was decent, but BED BUGS!! We discovered the creepy critters on our second and final night of our stay. Alerted hotel staff immediately. It was around 12:30am so the front desk was closed but the overnight staff member was there. He called the General Manager, who promised to refund us the night but of course that has yet to happen. I’ve emailed to follow up several times but they have been unresponsive. Not sure what is going to be done about the situation, but beware. We were in Room 301 and I can only imagine that they’re elsewhere on the property.

The location of this hotel is perfect for all the sights of Florence which is a beautiful city. The hotel is modern and the rooms well equipped with everything you could need. Our room was huge with a very large bed, great size shower and plenty of space for hanging clothes. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would totally recommend.

This was a modern, quaint, clean hotel with a great free breakfast. It was walking distance to what we wanted to see in Florence. I wish I had more time. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Run, I mean run away. Called me the day before our reservation to say they had a technical difficulty. Said they made arrangements for our party at a sister hotel. After reviewing said hotel we said ok. Arrived and they moved us across the street to another hotel. 1/2 the space. 2 towels for 4 people. 11 blocks from their location. No breakfast. Not even in the historical district. Loud, dirty. Went to hotel unicorno to speak with manager and he actually told me to go f myself. Typical bait and switch. BEWARE!

Location was great, being walking distance to main town and all attractions, as well as walking distance to main train station in Florence. Food was good, was what is expected for a 3 star accommodation. Bed was comfortable and room overall presentable. Negatives of the stay was the poor Wi-Fi, which would cut out continuously, as well as the air conditioning which would also stop working every so often

Clean Hotel Friendly staff, simple Breakfast, not a lot of choice but good coffee with a Nespresso machine. We were a family of 3 and we got a big bedroom with a double bed and 2 single beds. Even if the room was big, it needed some work especially the wooden floor. The bathroom was very small and it was difficult to fit 2 adult people inside. The shower/tub curtain was not in plastic and that caused the water to fall on the floor every time someone was taking a shower. Also, the hairdryer is a very slow and old one, very difficult to use when you have a lot of hair. There was a minifridge but it was not working even if there was a couple of bottle of water in it. The staff said that it was low...it wasn't, it was off. The room was facing the street but the windows had double glass so it was very quiet inside. Some paint and the replacement of the very old air conditioner would make a difference. The elevator is very small, it can barely fit a couple of people with luggage. Very easily access 5 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. The hotel is near a taxi station where you can get a taxi to visit the outskirt of the city center. Overall it was fine, but no more than a simple 3-star hotel.

Getting to this hotel is super easy; it's about a 6 minute walk from the train station (Santa Maria Novella) and around 10 min walk to the Duomo or Ponte Vecchio. There were just two of us, but the room could have easily slept 4 or 5 people - there was a king-sized bed, a full-sized murphy bed, and a daybed; would work well for a family or group of young travelers. Lots of storage space; we were only there for two nights but this would be a great spot for an extended stay. The room is quite modern and uses a touchscreen panel for light and temperature control. The a/c was legit (which is not always common in Europe). The bathroom lighting was a little strange- very dark and there was a blue light in the shower. I had to do my makeup in the room itself to get enough light. There was also a strange smell (I want to say onions?), although I had noticed the same smell while walking about in Florence so I don't think that's the hotel's fault (perhaps it's some kind of cleaning product they use?). A standard continental breakfast was offered. There is a small elevator available but you do have to walk up 1 floor from reception to get to the elevator.
