Situated in a small Piazza, central but secluded! This small friendly hotel, combines friendly staff ( but not over effusive ), clean accomodation ( but not sterile), an ideal place to stay for that long overdue city break. The breakfast managed to combine continental ( cheese, meat and pastries ) with British ( cereals and tea!) It is situated within...

Very charming hotel. Staff very friendly. The hotel is in a great central location to eating and shopping. Wifi doesnt work well unless in the lobby, but we didnt need to use it much anyway. The lady at the front desk was very helpful in helping us choose a restaurant where the locals eat.

It's a 3* so don't expect wonders but if you hunt for on-line deals (we achieved 34 Euro for 1 night...) this is great. Fantastic location, less than 6 min walk from Basilica di San Lorenzo, Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and Santa Maria del Fiore. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Gets a bit noisy from...

We checked into the hotel on Saturday, March 14 & checked out early morning March 18. The location was easy to find. It is in the middle of the city center, walking distance to lots of important sites. Loved the location. However, because our room faced the busy city street, we heard lots of commotion during sleeping hours. It rained...

The room was nice and bed was comfortable. Our room was near the stairway so we heard yelling and noise all throughout the night. Trash was left in the shower from previous visitors. When we told reception they completely disregarded it. We were a young couple so I felt a little disrespected by the reception employees right away. We planned...

My first reaction to many of these reviews is "did we stay at the same hotel?" We arrived after Venice and tried to walk from the train station with our luggage...seriously, take a cab till you get acquainted with the location. From the Piazza della Repubblica, just look east (out of the square) down Via Degli Speziali (becomes Via del...

Excellent hotel. Very affordable. Nice, decent breakfast. But the only problem I had over my 6 night stay, was for 3 of those nights, I had very noisy young American students staying, making it sometimes difficult to sleep, or being woken up at 4am. Mixture of customers stay at hotel, from middle aged, to young students, and 20-30 somethings.

The best thing about Albergo Firenze is its location. It is very central. And that's the only thing we liked about the place. We found the hotel too basic for our comfort. It reminded me of a college dorm. Even though the rooms were being cleaned daily, the floors just didn't look clean. Breakfast was okay. There was cereal, toast,...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
