Florence was our 4th stop of our trip around Italy and Hotel Alessandra did not disappoint. It is close enough to the train and bus station to walk, but when we arrived in Florence it was pouring rain! That was the only time it really rained on our trip to Italy and we were trapped in the bus station. We...

Stayed for 8 nights at Alessandra and it was beginning to feel like home. Location perfect; staff wonderful (love you Monty!); breakfast was enough to get you going. They have a little wine bar and you can purchase a bottle for a reasonable price and take it back to your room or go up to the tiny terrace to enjoy,...

I have to admit that we booked this hotel after the reviews we read on Trip Advisor, so we were a bit anxious to see what we were in for. Hotel Alessandra is within walking distance from the Santa Maria Novella Train Station, so it was a nice leisurely ten minute walk, absorbing our surroundings by the time we arrived...

The hotel was clean, easy to get to and ALL the staff were super pleasant to be around and quite helpful. Only one drawback and that is for current travelers only - the road in front of the hotel is under construction. We were there on a weekend and they weren't working.

Thank you, Monti and Andrea and everyone there who made my stay so perfect. Very welcoming hotel in an absolutely perfect location. Extremely personal service, felt right at home there. Stayed at Hotel Alessandra in November 2015 with my father and brother (from Australia). Greeted by the charming Monty who imparted some great tips for making our stay in Florence enjoyable. Other staff were also friendly and accommodating! The room was comfortable and all the basics were covered. The buffet breakfast provides for a range of tastes and makes for...

Last minute find on our train ride from Rome to Florence. Arrived after 8pm, night desk person, a very nice young man, found us a very reasonably priced room for the night. He was very helpful in directing us where to eat and where to shop for sundries late at night. The room was roomy and clean, bed was comfortable....

we booked at very last minute and were pleasantly surprised to find a welcoming, family run hotel, right by the river and Ponte Vecchio. Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our family run hotel is right in the heart of Florence old town - near to the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. Without doubt, Hotel Alessandra is one of the most centrally located hotels in Florence. In this privileged position, Hotel Alessandra offers a home away from home, with our friendly team and extensive knowledge of the local area. The hotel entrance is situated on the second floor of the building. You can reach the reception floor using the lift, small but working fine (in the 1400s buildings hadn't been designed with this in mind!) But please note that there are around 30 steps from the entrance on the street level to the departure of the lift. We very much look forward to seeing you! Andrea and Anna ... more   less
