This hotel is great, the people who complain about it have to understand that you get what you pay for. The hotel is a 2 minute walk away from the Duomo and the Michael Angello statue and only a short walk to other beautiful sights the city has to offer. The rooms are average however they are all you need....

Stayed here as part of a Topdeck tour for two nights. There is only one tiny dated elevator so it took ages to get to the room. The room was over cluttered with furniture making it hard to open my case. The room and bathroom were also very dark and the lighting was too dim. The shower was like a...

Your day is made when you meet Pierro at the reception. Welcoming, jolly and vivacious, he makes sure that the guest is comfortable and feels welcomed at this beautiful city and the lovely hotel. The hotel itself is quaint, has an old worldly charm about it. Its very comfortable. We were three in a room, and it was sufficiently big...

Big thanks to Pierro! He was very helpful and kind... The location is amazing too near to the Duomo and Michael Angello statue. Moreover, the room is perfect with a beautiful balcony❤️ All over the team is great, I recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Florence ❤️ Thanks Hotel Le Due Fontane!

I normally wait until I'm home to write reviews after I've had a chance to collect my thoughts. I'm checked into this dump right now. Unfortunately, I've fallen ill and can't get around, otherwise I'd pay any amount to sleep anywhere else tonight. Anywhere. Even maybe in a booth at the McDonald's cafe up the street. At least it would...

The hotel itself is pretty average, but good for the amount you pay. I had a single room and it was a good size with all the basic amenities. The only down side was the bathroom was pretty small. Although I had to rinse out the shower before my first use, it wasn't overly dirty by any means. The hotel...

Incredible location in the heart of Florence - literally around the corner from the Accademia Galleria, which houses Michelangelo's David, and a short walk from the Piazza del Duomo. Unfortunately the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The bathroom was borderline dangerous with their broken tiling around the shower. The protruding tiles designed to act as a dam to...

This is a lovely hotel - old but clean and with free wi-fi. We travelled there by train and although you could probably walk to the hotel from the station, in the July heat we werent about to try. Taxi cost us anywhere from 8 Euros to 13 Euros one way. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very close to the...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
