Nice comfortable clean hotel. Compared to other hotels in Italy where we have stayed this has been great. Great location with most sights in easy walking distance. Air con could be a little better but it has been extremely hot. Good size room and bathroom. The only suggestion would be to have a small fridge in the room?

I liked the location of Hotel Sole as it is close to all the major landmarks of Florence. There is no free breakfast served but there are some places to grab a bite to eat within close proximity. One nice thing that I didn't know is that there is a place to wash and dry your clothes right in front...

Air conditioning didn't work and when we inquired about it twice it still never got fixed . Found it quite hard to sleep in the room at night as the room temperature was too high . If you want to sleep in a sauna stay here.

Dear guest, I'm sorry about the issue. There was a problem during one night, and we was not able to fix it during the night but only the day before. I'm so sorry again for the issue. Regards.

The one star rating belies the quality of this hotel. Very nice little hotel situated in central Florence. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are not big, but cosy and with a nice bathroom. Highly recommended.

I stayed for a night in this hotel in a triple room. Location is perfect, very close to the city center and also to central station (santa maria novella). The room is very clean and the bathroom too. The receptionist staff is very helpful and nice. He helped us a lot during our stay. The only minus point is the...

The hotel was situated well. Clean and with all the basics. Still within walking distance of the train station. Good if you want a clean place to sleep for a couple of days, on a budget and in the city center. Couple of good bakeries close by for breakfast. Wifi is available in the rooms, although it can be a...

I stayed 3 nights in a single room. The position is excellent (I never had to use public transportation to get to places) and the cleanliness of the place was adequate (maybe they need to change the shower towel every day if the customer leaves it down on the bidet). The noise level is relatively high since you can easily...

The hotel was very well located. Clean and with all the basics. Good if you want a clean place to sleep, for a low budget and in the city center. Very close to an amazing bakery (Forno Top), down the street on Via della Spada, we had our breakfast there.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
