This was my first stay at this beautiful Palazzo and it won't be my last. Situated perfectly in the heart of Florence right beside the Duomo and walking distance to everything i planned to see. Staying in this quiet luxury, one is reminded of elegant aristocracy: rooms with high ceilings, exquisite original frescoes and furnished lovingly with antiques. The attention...

We stayed one night at the Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo during our week-long stay in Tuscany. Staying in Room 7 was spectacular, there are giant windows with views in three directions. Of course, the wonderful views of the Duomo make it look like you could reach out and touch it. The opposite view was stunning of the hills and bell...

Stayed at Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo with my parents for what ended up being two nights in June. It's an historic palazzo just adjacent to the Duomo, so the location really can't be beat, especially for a place that feels like such a family residence. The staff and service were incredible. I spent my last day of this trip stuck...

Lovely place to stay in Florence. Only about one block from the Duomo but in a very quiet courtyard. Very comfortable rooms, air conditioned, fully equipped bath. In a lovely old palazzo. Breakfast room oozes charm and the food is lovely. Our flight was very much delayed and they had someone to let us in. Very helpful with restaurant suggestions...

I travelled with a couple of friends to Florence, but could only get a booking at this hotel for myself and my daughter. I chose it for the location, twin beds and price. There is a strong smell at reception, obviously they're trying to get rid of the mould smell with chemicals, but it is a very bad first impression....

My new husband and I stayed at Palazzo Niccolini for four nights as the first stop on our European honeymoon. We had a fantastic stay in the Duomo Suite... very spacious, bright, and a wonderful view of the Duomo. The period furnishings, paintings and fresco on the ceiling were beautiful and we felt so privileged to be staying in such...

This is a small, privately-owned family palazzo right next door to the Duomo. We stayed in Room 7, which is above the third floor with windows 10 feet high looking in three directions: onto the apse and dome of the Duomo itself and then towards the hills, towards Santa Croce, and towards Fiesole. This used to be the old drying...

We only had one night to spend in Florence and I am so happy that we chose Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo. It was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children ages 6 and 10) and staying in a beautiful old historic building was a perfect way to start our Italy vacation. The frescos on the walls and...

We stayed five nights at the Palazzo Niccolini and we fell in love with it! So charming! We travelled with our two teenage children and it suited us perfectly. We had a spacious suite and the location was terrific. The staff was friendly and gracious. My daughter loved the breakfasts especially.

We just returned from Florence and our week stay at the Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean, updated, comfortable, and you can't beat the location. Our room had beautiful 17th century frescos on the walls even with excellent modern air conditioning! Our room looked just like the pictures. It's great being so central that you can...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
