We loved our stay at Hotel Davanzati! From the staff who greets you, helps with museum reservations (a must to avoid long lines!) comfortable bed with a white noise machine if needed, and the afternoon tea and evening happy hour for the best warm bruschetta and mingle with other guest, we will definitely return soon! There are stairs you have... More

I stayed at the hotel in April 2016 with my parents who are in their 60's. This was my second visit to the hotel. My previous visit was with my wife four years ago. The location of the hotel is very convenient. The taxi ride from the train station is less than 10 minutes. The walks to the Duomo, Uffizi,... More

Location of the hotel is terrific, on a beautiful street with nice shops and restaurants. The people at the front desk were friendly and had great ideas for places to visit and eat. Our room was very pretty, clean, large and a nice view onto the street. Really recommend this place for service and value. There are stairs up to... More

I have never experienced the type of amenities that was served at Davanzati Hotel, it was truly spectacular. The hotel was very nice, very comfortable and the staff and location were fabulous! From restaurant recommendations, to directions to the lovely happy hour every evening. I couldn't have asked for more.

This time I traveled solo to Italy for a two weeks trip, stayed in florence for a week. I had been staying at around thirty hotels in the past five years, hotel Davanzati is still the best, offering the best service. The location is perfect but the best thing about this hotel is the wonderful attentiveness of the staff. They will do anything for you and will also make sure that what they have done meets with your satisfaction. They care about all the little details that make a trip special.

This is a small family hotel run by three generations; grandpa is still greeting guests at the tender age of 93! The son and grandsons are wonderful helpful hosts and all the staff is helpful and pleasant in all manner of ways. The location is centrally located for all attractions and the museum and restaurant recommendations were most helpful.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Davanzati! Location was great, walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Florence, and on a street with several restaurants and shops. Room was clean and typical of the other hotels we stayed at in Italy. Front desk service was very friendly and personalized and the recommendations for restaurants and tours were... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
