We stayed at the Panella Residence for 4 nights in July 2011. It was me and my 14 year old daugther. First I have to say that Graziella Panella is one of the nicest, friendliest and most helpful people I have ever met. She made reservations for us a week before we arrived at the Uffizi gallery as well as...

My husband and I stayed here in May and LOVED it! It was definitely our favorite place to stay in Italy. This is actually part of a palace, charming and full of history where you feel like nobility during the Renaissance. The location is great, maybe 5 min walk from the Duomo and on a very quiet street. Our windows...

Beautiful spacious rooms, high ceilings, cool in the heat of summer. Breakfast was perfect and so were the hosts. It made Florence the highlight of our trip, we will definetly be back. Clean, quiet and in an excellent location to do all the tourist events in Florence. Graziella was extremely helpful to book us into museums etc. We absolutely loved...

My husband and I recently returned from a 23 day trip that included Firenze. Both Graziella and her husband were wonderful and most helpful with reservations at three very different, but special restaurants. Trattoria Za-Za is a must! We stayed in #44 with the most wonderful bathroom! Breakfast was also perfecto in her oh so warm and wonderful breakfast room....

We stayed at Panella's Residence based on Rick Steves' recommendation, and we were more than satisfied! Our room and bathroom were huge, and the whole place was spotless! I'm a little bit of a clean freak who was worried about staying in hotels throughout Italy, but I had nothing to worry about here. Ms. Panella was such a charming, friendly,...

My 15 year-old daughter and I stayed 2 nights at Panella's Residence with wonderful hostess Graziella. She made museum reservations for us, helped with our luggage, called a taxi to the train station and, in general, made us feel so welcome. She suggested a great restaurant for dinner and steered us to the best gelato shop in Italy. The "room"...

Panella's is perfectly situated in Florence for sightseeing being about 2 blocks from the Duomo on the quiet Via Della Pergola. Its central location is within easy walking distance to all the museums, restaurants, shopping, and sights. The B&B was very comfortable and decorated in a typical Tuscan style with a large bedrooms and large well lit bathrooms. The rooms...

Graziella is a conscientious and gracious hostess who made us feel at home at once. She is very personable and told us about the history of the house which was a nunnery. I LOVED the room, it was elegant and very spacious, staying here was like taking a trip back in time with the beautiful original beamed ceiling, floorboards and...

Panella's Residence has the most charming proprietress - Graziella. Our room was quite spacious and the bathroom was almost as big as the bedroom. There were beautifully painted doors, and breakfast was always inviting. The best part of this stay was our hostess, Graziella. She was so helpful, and always ready to help me with my faltering Italian. She marked...

Be sure to book directly. Do not use a website such as Venere since they charge a commission and it will inflate your cost. The owner speaks English and you will have no problem booking directly. Lovely place, centrally located and quiet. Big rooms and roomy bathroom.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
