Beautiful place! Ms. Nadia is among the sweetest people we have ever known, made us feel at home. The breakfast was super, the cleanliness of the rooms excellent, the only drawback is the access to the structure that has very steep stairs.

The B&B guesthouse was a very convenient and inexpensive place to stay while in Florence. Do not expect anything fancy or modern, none of this, yet the place was quite clean, the room had all necessary amenities required and there were no particular neighbourhood noises being very quiet. There is no lift in this building. Lucia who is the lady taking care of everything in this B&B gives all her efforts in making you feel welcomed and comfortable. There is a very straight forward short walk from the train station as the B&B is on the other side of Florence centre.

Recommended hotel for a nice budget, you have to walk around 10-15 mins though to reach the station or the center but worth it. Breakfast is also nice and stuff are friendly. Quite and nice view to the lake.

we stayed for 1 night at this B&B, which I chose because of the reviews on TA. There was a Romanian student who took care of basically everything in the house. She was very nice, and gave a lot of information about the city, though not always the correct. Before arriving, I asked for parking possibilities, as the B&B advertised to have this possibility. I was informed that I could park just in front of the house. In reality this is not feasible at all. The night we stayed the roads were cleaned so you could not park anywhere near the house. In fact I had to park my car somewhere in a nearby garage for 25 euro's.
The bank transfer machine did not work, so only cash (not advertised), the door from the shower was missing (answer: i'm sorry a previous guest did fall, and broke the door, my boss has not found the time to repair this), breakfast was not very rich, with the cheapest possible ingredients and old bread . Then the sink in the shower was somehow congested, so one could shower for a minute or 2, then stop the water, wait a few minutes to let the water flow through the sink, and then shower again for a minute or 2, as not to overflow the shower. Finally, there was a lot of noise from the traffic was all around the house, day and night.
So to conclude: Romanian host was very friendly, but services in and around the house were really bad.

Good location, close to the center. Rooms were large and well cleaned. Italian breakfast was very good. Lucia is fantastic and made our trip perfect. She really creates the right atmosphere in the B&B providing everything we needed. Parking is on the street nearby the location and it is not free.

Stay somewhere else!
We stayed there 2 nights and were totally disappointed. First of all, we chose the place because they claimed to have free available parking, but they don't. You are lucky if you find parking at all, and we had to pay for it.
Second, the room noisy, its located on a main road and cars drove by all night!
And last, the confirmation mail informed us that check in is until 18 but they left at 17:30 and we had to walk across the city to get the key!!

Response from Mirko C, Responsabile relazioni pubbliche at Mia Palace

Dear Guest, We are very sorry of this feedback. The parking as specified everywhere is public on the street and everybody find the parking on the white lines in our street. You expected to find a private covered parking of hotel but nobody advertise this on internet. About the check-in you answered us that you arrive at 3pm, we waited you until 6 and then we close becouse our opening time for direct check-in is from 9am to 6pm. You arrived later than 6pm.... About the room i'm sorry but you booked the room on the street side ( we offer also room on river side ). You have to understand that we are in the heart of Florence not in the countryside. However we are really sorry because we work hardly to arrive at the top score so we will try to improve again in all our services. Kind regards, Mirko.

We booked the appartment for a short stop at florence. It was cheap so we weren't expecting much. First task was to find the place. Even with the exact adress it was hard to find because no sign/... was located nearby. The entrance is an old and ugly door, where you have to call the owner first so that he can give you the code for the lock.
You go upstairs a small, steep and narrow stairway. There an old lady welcomes you who barely speaks english or another foreign language but we managed to communicate. Everything looked old and worn, but okay....
The big issue was our room which was absolutely disgusting. The smallest problem were the furniture which were old and definitly need to be replaced, but with that the shortcomings just started. The walls showed a lot und partly huge water damages, dead insects had left bloody stains on the wall, the floor between bath and bedroom was damaged, so the door couldn't be closed, over the shower was a hose from the a.c. for the condensed water which dropped continuously and also begun to go moldy, the shower in general was untidy and germinal and there was generally mould all over the place - in almost every corner. The "highlight" was a approximatly 1,5 m² huge mould spot behind one of the cupboards.
We described the problems to a customer support stuff of the portal where we booked. He contacted the owner but couldn't help us because the owner wasn't cooperative and just got angry.
Of course we didn't get any compensation....

The B&B is realy great located. its only a 15 min walk into the centre of Florence. We were lucky to get the room with balcony which were very cozy and lovely. its indeed a little bit noisy because of a road in front oft he B&B, but i think its normal when you are that close to Town. Also the Host is very friendly. I can totaly recommend the Mia palace and we did regret that we only stayed one Night.

The location of Mia palace is amazing. Walking distance from the center ( around 10 mins ) and also from the SMN train station ( around 10 mins ) which is very important if you would like to visit other places as well. Room that we stayed in was small but nice and clean. Lucia , lady who is working here, was very polite and she did everything so we can have a nice stay. We would definitely come back here.

Mia Palace is a great stay during a trip to Florence. Great hospitality and a good location. It's a 20 minute-walk to the historic centre. We were happy with the nice and clean rooms. The breakfast is simple and delicious. We surely recommend this B&B!
