Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some cautions: it has only a tiny sign at front and is between 2 busy streets. There are 2 long, steep stairways with no elevator. The breakfast and bathroom were good. There is only public street parking, which can be difficult to get and risks the frequent break-ins. We had the window open, so were attacked by mosquitos and awaken by much noise.

We booked the appartment for a short stop at florence. It was cheap so we weren't expecting much. First task was to find the place. Even with the exact adress it was hard to find because no sign/... was located nearby. The entrance is an old and ugly door, where you have to call the owner first so that he can give you the code for the lock. You go upstairs a small, steep and narrow stairway. There an old lady welcomes you who barely speaks english or another foreign language but we managed to communicate. Everything looked old and worn, but okay.... The big issue was our room which was absolutely disgusting. The smallest problem were the furniture which were old and definitly need to be replaced, but with that the shortcomings just started. The walls showed a lot und partly huge water damages, dead insects had left bloody stains on the wall, the floor between bath and bedroom was damaged, so the door couldn't be closed, over the shower was a hose from the a.c. for the condensed water which dropped continuously and also begun to go moldy, the shower in general was untidy and germinal and there was generally mould all over the place - in almost every corner. The "highlight" was a approximatly 1,5 m² huge mould spot behind one of the cupboards. We described the problems to a customer support stuff of the portal where we booked. He contacted the owner but couldn't help us because the owner wasn't cooperative and just got angry. Of course we didn't get any compensation....

We stayed in the attic room which was super cute but we made the mistake of leaving the doors open to the river side balcony during the night and got eaten alive by bugs! The bed wasnt all that comfortable but we didnt spend much time in it. It was a little bit further away then i originally expected it to be with only a couple nearby places to eat. We enjoyed a little garden wine bar on our first night there and a quick 5 min walk.

Recommended hotel for a nice budget, you have to walk around 10-15 mins though to reach the station or the center but worth it. Breakfast is also nice and stuff are friendly. Quite and nice view to the lake.

The B&B is realy great located. its only a 15 min walk into the centre of Florence. We were lucky to get the room with balcony which were very cozy and lovely. its indeed a little bit noisy because of a road in front oft he B&B, but i think its normal when you are that close to Town. Also the Host is very friendly. I can totaly recommend the Mia palace and we did regret that we only stayed one Night.

We went there in June, 2 bedrooms, one for a couple and a single room. 2 nights. Location: good, 30 minutes walk to the center, 15 min walk to the parking place Porta al Prato. Parking: Since I read some reviews where people complained about the parking place being not available or to be paid just close to the B&B, I decided to park at the parking Porta al Prato which is 15/20 min walk. Bedrooms: we had the two bedrooms at the 2nd floor where breakfast is served. First of all there are steep stairs which are not the best if you have lots luggage or big luggage or a stroller and you are travelling with small kids. The good thing was that for both rooms the bathroom was private, inside the bedroom. Btw, everything was old, so old that even if you clean it will appear dirty... mattress totally uncomfortable... in the bathroom there was mold in the tab. Breakfast: nothing special, just acceptable. In general: good location and the woman who manages the place (Lucia, if I remember right) is very nice and kind but the owner really needs to put some money and refurbish the place... for what you get it is expensive.

The location of Mia palace is amazing. Walking distance from the center ( around 10 mins ) and also from the SMN train station ( around 10 mins ) which is very important if you would like to visit other places as well. Room that we stayed in was small but nice and clean. Lucia , lady who is working here, was very polite and she did everything so we can have a nice stay. We would definitely come back here.

The first alarm bell rang when we could see no sign of the hotel exactly where is should be. An ordinary door leads you into a dank vestibule then up two flights of stars to a dismal breakfast area come reception. To be fair the beds were comfortable and the room clean. We had to lave early the next day and were told there would be breakfast, tea and coffee left in our room. Fine thanks but left no milk, spoons or knives! We paid more than twice than the room was advertised that day. Yes it was an easy walk into the heart of the city but on reflection we could have got much nicer for the £120 we paid.

Dear Guest, We are really sorry about the feedback but we gave you a very nice room with a free upgrade than the standard tipology booked. The problem is that you expected to find an hotel but we are a B&B and we advertize this. Kind regards, The Management.

The B&B guesthouse was a very convenient and inexpensive place to stay while in Florence. Do not expect anything fancy or modern, none of this, yet the place was quite clean, the room had all necessary amenities required and there were no particular neighbourhood noises being very quiet. There is no lift in this building. Lucia who is the lady taking care of everything in this B&B gives all her efforts in making you feel welcomed and comfortable. There is a very straight forward short walk from the train station as the B&B is on the other side of Florence centre.
