The building is charming and well located - a bit tricky to find at first and we drove past a couple of times, but it's walking distance from the city centre in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Having access to free parking in such a central location was very helpful. While Room 2 was comfortable, the bathroom really is impractically small and we had to nearly climb over the toilet to get to the shower. Unfortunately, it looked like the shower had a leak and the pressure was very low as a result. In fairness, the host invited us to contact them if we had any issues or questions. However, it was gone 10PM when we realised and, as we planned on leaving early the next morning, we just didn't have the time. Breakfast was a little light and lacked variety compared to other guesthouses we visited, which may have been because (I think?) we were the only guests at the time; in retrospect, I would have preferred to hold on to the €10pp and spend a bit more elsewhere.

Found this little gem on booking.com. Needed a hotel for one night for two couples so we could have a few drinks on a night out in Florence. It is an absolutely beautiful hotel within an easy 25min walk or a short tram ride to the city centre. Host is lovely and speaks fluent English. We had the outside room which is obviously a converted garage but it is beautifully fitted out. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Florence.

SUMMARY • Located JUST outside the frenzy of Firenze • Continental breakfast included • Easy, short distance via tram service • Clean & spacious room and bathroom DETAILS In addition to affordability, we selected Villino Fiorentino because of its location AWAY from the hustle & bustle of Florence. Via tram near the Florence train station, it is only three stops to the hotel (approx. 10-minutes). Initially on our arrival to the neighborhood, we circled around the long block unaware that the property was a mere 80 to 100-yards from where we disembarked. After circling the block, we ran into Odette—manager of the property. Clearly our confused 'touristy expressions' with luggage in tow was a giveaway that we were her new American guests. She showed us to the front of Villino Fiorentino. It is located on a quiet and sparsely traveled street. As with most small Italian lodgings, it was a clean ‘vintage’ building. You initially enter through an exterior secured metal door from the street. That leads you into the main property courtyard entrance. This too features a secured door with a combination keypad. Our room was at the top of the stairs—NO elevator. There are only 6-7 rooms; a quaint setup. Ours was the MOST spacious room & bathroom of all the hotels we stayed at during our 3-week visit. It was nicely appointed with a high ceiling and a LARGE, firm bed. On a credenza was a coffee/tea service—nice touch. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo. IMPORTANT: In our bathroom the ceramic tub was EXTREMELY slippery with no ‘grab bar’ (even for me who surfs, it was challenging). I sat down the second night and used the detachable shower wand. NOTE TO PROPERTY: In lieu of installing a ‘grab bar’, a non-slip rubber bathmat would be a nice safety feature. The premises inside & out was quite clean and well-maintained. The morning breakfast was a typical Continental-type; sparse for big eaters (guilty) but adequate. The cappuccino was my favorite part. We quickly settled into using the tram to & from Florence. A nice treat awaited us at the end of each day when we disembarked the tram. Immediately across the street was a Gelato shop with a wide variety of choices. All the walking helped offset those delicious calories. Btw--Bring comfortable shoes because you will do a TON of traipsing around ‘Firenze’. Safe Travels!

My wife and I stayed here on our way into the Tuscan countryside. Sara was a gracious host. We were assisted with everything we could need. Breakfast was lovely, with some pastries, cappuccinos, and other local favorites. The location was easy enough to find, and was easy to get into/out of the city via a tram stop a short distance away. The whole building, especially our room, was clean and smelled lovely. There was hand sanitizer everywhere as needed. The room was well appointed and comfortable. Every need was met. The area is quiet and safe.

My husband and I stayed at Villino Fiorentino for 4 nights. It provided us with a good location in which to base our site-seeing of Florence. Private parking was available in the back of the property - small/medium vehicles only! We were warmly welcomed, and quickly shown our room and the breakfast area, and given the keys (and combinations to the property gate and front door). We were offered a snack and coffee as well. Our room was on the 1st floor, next to the street - it was surprisingly quiet. The room, like most in Florence, is small - and the bathroom smaller (barely enough room for 1 person to stand). The bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was good: cheese, meat, yogurt, cereal, bread, fresh fruit, juice, coffee. They offered can soda for 1 euro (as opposed to most stores charging 2.5 or 3) and bottled water for .5 euro. While there was no one on-site 24/7, emails were answered quickly. We did not mind the 3/4 mile walk into the city, and chose to eat our evening meals at a location away from the touristy area. A train stop is close - just "around the corner" from the B & B - if you don't want to walk. The BEST gelato shop is also there - we were disappointed that we didn't "discover" it until our last night.

We stayed at this hotel for two days. The room of the hotel and breakfast were very nice. We had a car but we didn't need to use it . You can go anywhere by tramvay or walk. If you are staying at this hotel, you will feel like at home. Special thanks to Sara. I hope see you again:)

Mathilda and myself stayed at Villino Fiorentino Bed & Breakfast in Florence for 7 nights. We were very content staying here, we felt at home thanks to the warm hospitality of Odette and Julia who were special in taking care of us. We loved the peace and tranquility of this area of Florence and were so happy to be away from the crowds in the centre. Each morning we would take the electric tram Unità, which was only 5 minutes walking distance from the B&B, taking roughly 10 minutes to arrive at the railway station stop which is close to the centre of Florence. We found excellent places to eat, even a Japanese restaurant! Our room was clean, well appointed and our window looked out onto rooftops and a beautiful tree with lots of birds. The building itself is well maintained with style. It is easy to access to and fro with a good security system. I loved the wrought iron balaustra. The breakfast was delicious and Odette and Julia were always courteous & helpful. Thank you for a wonderful 7 days at Villino Fiorentino, we will definitely return.

Booked this spot last minute after we decided to stop in Florence for a night. Had a car so knew we wanted to be outside city center, but close enough to walk in. Villino Fiorentino advertises free parking, and otherwise totally reasonable rates, so it seemed like a no-brainer. First, the positives: Location is great, a 15 minute stroll into the historic (and amazing) city center. I think you can take a tram or a bus to expedite the journey, but the walk was easy as well. The room was spacious and functional (though the bathroom was teeeny). The building itself is charming. The Negatives: We arrived after 6pm and at no point were told that there would be no one to check us in, so we were locked out for a while. I finally turned on my US cell phone to make an international call to the hotel, and the lady told me she had just left. (Admittedly, we were running late and had anticipated getting in around 5:30.) The lady had apparently sent me an email with the code on how to get in, but i hadnt turned on my data or wifi while driving, so didnt see it. It is something that could have been communicated when we made our reservation. One of the other negatives was the "free parking". There is reasonably space for 3 cars, thought you can fit 5 or 6 in there if you block in others. We parked fine, but the next morning other guests asked us to move our car so that they could prepare to depart (even though we were leaving at the same time-- and oddly we werent even blocking their car...) It was just inconvenient and there is no one there working to really manage the cars blocking each other. What if we had left early in the morning to walk around the city? Finally, the room we had was right next to the breakfast room (which was just OK, not great, not terrible), so when the nice lady starting preparing breakfast before 8am, we were awoken by the noise. It is not a place to stay if you want to sleep in! Would likely stay somewhere else if i had time to plan, but this spot was fine for what we needed, despite the hiccups.

Overall the place is very nice, the room on the first floor large and well equipped. The only con is that breakfast starts at 8 which is late if you travel for business and the room is not so large. A little bit expensive for a B&B.
