We had a wonderful stay at Campolungo. Friendly and knowledgeable host, beautifully decorated and restored buildings, rooms & gardens. Comfy bed & sofa in junior suite, with a great shower. Fantastic breakfast - some of the nicest produce we tasted in Tuscany. Excellent location for nearby walks, Fiesole is lovely for a day's wandering, Florence less than an hour away, and Siena 1.5 hrs, a very convenient base for exploring. We foolishly didn't arrange olive oil/wine tasting with Sylvia, and wished we had made time for that in our itinerary. Left with a suitcase full of her gorgeous produce. If you visit in cooler seasons, the junior suite had stone floors which were beautiful, but if we visit again I will bring some slippers. There is a tea/coffee station in the breakfast room, but no kettle in the room (I have a truly English dependence on tea). Many thanks for a lovely stay.…
We have just had a wonderful 5 night stay at the Villa De Campolungo in August which is very peaceful and always has a cooling breeze that is very welcome after spending the day in Florence. The rooms are huge and well decorated and there is a terrace with a beautiful view for breakfast or a drink later on. We were very well looked after by Sylvia and Erik who do a fantastic breakfast of local produce and were extremely helpful about where to eat plus some very useful tips on parking in Florence! Highly recommended.
Their service is appalling. We booked a refundable room rate and cancelled weeks before arrival but the promised refund has not arrived despite many weeks of emails. Today they emailed saying we should contact the "relevant authorities" to get our money back. This is a scam business.
A beautiful place with charm in Italian countrystyle. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are clean and the food is made with love and care. I really want to come back to this place, inte the beautiful italian country, along the path of "la via di Dio".
When we visit a large historical city like Florence, we like to rest in a quiet place in the middle of nature. If you feel like us, this location is your best option. On top, you will enjoy a delicious all organic - either home made or carefully selected and locally sourced ingredients - brought to you daily by our elegant multilingual agreable host. We can’t wait to come back!
We picked this beautiful location after reading a mention of the Villa in a news article and seeing the positive reviews. Our biggest regret was that our first 2 mornings we had to leave early, before breakfast, to meet up with tours. Once we were able to “ enjoy” the full experience and meet Sylvia & Erik, we wished we could have stayed longer. They, along with their son made great recommendations to enjoy truly local experiences and food. If you have the opportunity, you will not be disappointed.
Most comfortable and beautiful room for our entire two weeks in Italy. The best WiFi connection. Silvia and Erik were wonderful hosts and excellent conversationalists. The Villa Di Campolungo Agriturismo was absolutely lovely. We enjoyed walking through the olive tree grove and sitting on our balcony drinking local wine. The bathroom was spacious and had a full size shower. Our hosts prepared a delicious breakfast featuring products made on property such as pear jam and others sourced from local farms such as genoa salami and ham.
Silvia and Erik and fabulous hosts. The farmhouse, which has origins from the 1400's has been carefully and thoughtfully restored to an amazing level of comfort while keeping all of the architectural integrity. The room was enormous and spotless with an incredibly comfortable mattress. The bathrooms are also huge and flawlessly redone. Although it's a quick 15 min. ride to Florence, you really feel miles away. The mornings are so still and picturesque, it's a truly magical experience. Breakfast is downstairs in a charming parlor and on the back patio overlooking the Tuscan valley, weather permitting. Silvia is an excellent cook. She had fresh cakes every morning, lots of prosciutto and meats, fresh local cheese and all the cappuccino you could want. It was heavenly! I've never experienced anything quite like Villa Campolungo it is a rare gem indeed. Ciao, Grazie Mille…
We enjoyed very much our stay at this historical villa. The views were stunning but more important were the wonderful hosts. It was a pleasure to have conversations with the hosts. The breakfast was delicious (especially the cakes) with a great assortment of local specialties. We also got recommendations for local restaurants. We highly recommend this villa, we already mention it to our family and friends.
We have been in this astonished place during our motorbike riding throughout Tuscany. Family owners are extremely professional and friendly. Rooms and cleaning are like a 5* hotels; and you feel to be a human being in paradise. Great landscape, silence and aromas of aromatic herbs all around. Sad to leave this place to continuing our trip. Well done guys. We surely back. We strongly suggest this location
