The rooms are well-kept and comfortable. located within the city walls of San Gimignano it is very convenient to visit the city. It is possible to enter with the car to unload the luggage and then you have to go out to park in one of the paid parking areas outside the walls. The breakfast prepared by the lady of the house is delicious and varied with cakes made by her the night before, cafe, jams, Nutella and Croissant never fail on the table but also eggs and bacon. Nice place and location, good value for money.
San Gimignano has its special spell at night - so worth not doing a day trip, but staying there over night. Palazzo al Torrione is the ideal location for this: it is located right on the walls of the old town of San Gimignano, so has a nice view across the surroundings, but is also well located for an evening stroll through the streets of the old town. The only difficulty is to get there by car to unload suitcases, as the streets are pretty steep and narrow, but with the help of our landlady, we made it. The Palazzo has been recently renovated in a very charming way - the rooms are modern, but with a traditional touch. The owners are lovely and always available for any questions or help. And the breakfast was probably one of the best we had throughout our entire trip through Tuscany. Fresh fruit, cheese, bread with olive oil, croissants,... and the best fried egg ever.…
We were not sure if we were in the right place at first... walked up a flight of stairs to a little window to pay then went up half flight to room. Had a beautiful room with view of mountains (back-side) just as pictures in photos. There is a communal kitchen & dining area outside rooms. We and one other couple were there so it was quiet but I could see it being noisy if lots of people there. We could not open window because people living below were smoking on their patio. This is not a location for anyone with smoke allergies - owners own smoke shop and entry does smell of smoke.
I remembered this Bed & Breakfast from a visit to San Gimignano several years ago so I looked for it again on my recent visit to Italy. Park in the public parking area and walk through the main gates of the wall. You'll check in and get the key at the owner's Tabacchi shop which is close to the gates. The rooms are up two flights of steep stairs but you'll appreciate the climb when you see the views from the rooms. The breakfast room is very small so the breakfast is personalized. You'll need to tell the owner what time you want breakfast. Based on the price of the breakfast and the convenience I think I would decline the breakfast and get something out in the city. I visit San Gimignano every few years and I will look for this same B&B again next time.
In a good location, yet quiet. View from the window was fantastic. Room was clean. Parking is some way from the hotel, but this is going to apply to most of the hotels in San Gimignano given how pedestrianised it is. Hotel also had complementary wifi and the staff were only too keen to help show is highlights of the city and provided us with a map upon arrival.
Lovely place, in an excellent location. We particularly appreciated staff and breakfast. As it's in the inner city centre it's not possible to park nearby, so we left our car at parking P1 Giubileo, at the very convenient rate of 6€ per day, with a shuttle bus taking you to the centre in 2 minutes. Everything was more than perfect!
Lovely big room at front of pensione. Francesco, the owner was very obliging and made me feel at home. Lovely facilities and she made a nice breakfast for me I had in my room (small breakfast room and it was full up). Great wifi.
I stayed at Palazzo Al Torrione during Festa Delle Messi 18-20/June 2016 I wouldn't qualify Palazzo Al Torrione a B&B but a very good hotel standards, its historic building inside the city walls so more central impossible, rooms are perfectly clean new bathrooms spacious showers and all amenities you find in any 4* hotel, buildings are newly restored and have wonderful views of the Tuscany hills it's vineyards as well views of the medieval city and historic famous towers. Vanna the owner is such a kind all positive woman she serves breakfast herself to guests offering different kinds of bread , her home made cake delicious coffee tea jam cheese etc she really makes you feel at home away from home! Beds are big and very comfortable. MRS Vanna also attends her own very central tabacchi shop in the main road where you can buy any kind of souvenirs bus tickets tours and she is very helpful for any information about the town and sorroundings where to eat etc I definitely recommend Palazzo Al Torrione for your next stay in the most beautiful Italian BORGO I QUALIFY IT from 1 to 5 absolutely 5 !!! I'll go back next August 10th for the well known wine fest CALICI DI STELLE don't miss it !…
Palazzo al Torrione and Palazzo al Torrione 2 are actually the same place. A small and friendly B&B, near the surrounding wall of San Gimignano's old city. The owner is extremely friendly. The breakfast is served in her little kitchen, just like in a traditional Tuscan home. You MUST ask for the tomato bruschetta. Some of the rooms face the rooftops of San Gimignano, while the others face the view of the hills on the west. The best rooms are the two rooms with the small terrace facing the scenic view of the mountains and the sunset.
Beautiful building spacious comfortable cleanest rooms bathrooms , owners very nice helpful friendly make you feel at home Vanna's breakfast gorgeous Bruschetta Cakes Croissants if you desire eggs they will be served. Best location right in the middle of the cake ! It's not only a B&B Palazzo al Torrione is a beautiful hotel don't doubt to make a reservation now if you are visiting SAN GIMIGNANO "THE ITALIAN MOST BEAUTIFUL BORGO" ! I definitely will stay again and I'll recommend it to everybody! THANKYOU Vanna THANKYOU Francesco
