I love a good view and the view from my room at Hotel Alma Domus is the best I have ever had in my life. You pay a few extra euros for a room with a view and a balcony but it is so worth it. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly and this includes the kitchen staff in the breakfast room. Everyone was there to please. I would and will stay here again in a heartbeat.

My partner Linda and I spent a week at this lovely hotel. Small, basic no bar but what a wonderful place. Very clean, towels replaced daily good breakfast and great staff, everyone wanting to please, and a lovely little outside terrace if you just wanted to soak up the atmosphere. The real bonus is it's location, all of the central sites of Siena, lots of lovely restaurants all no more than 15 minutes walk away. Taxi services are available just a few steps away and a 10 minutes walk to the bus station if you want to go a bit further afield. Definitely go for a room with a nightime view of the Cathedral. Thank you to all at the Alma Domus.

Do not let the fact that this is a one-star hotel stop you from staying there. If you are not familiar with the Italian hotel rating system, Google it.

This hotel is in an excellent location in the old city. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Spend a few extra euros for a room on the top floor and you will have an amazing view of the cathedral on the hillside across the ravine. You can thank me later…

A bit of a walk from the bus station but not bad. The reception staff always seemed preoccupied, friendly but seemed busy and not very interested in being of much help. Room had a nice balcony with great view of the city but could hear our neighbors talking on their balcony and in their room even with our door closed. Room was on the small side but we didn't spend much time there so not a big deal. Breakfast was really good and included in the price which was nice.

It is next to the Basilique San Domenico and about 10 min walk to Piazza Campo. Very convenient location. It is a basic budget hotel, nice and clean, with breakfast included. To find it, you need to walk down to the left side of the Basilica and there are stairs on the right. Hotel is about 50 ft down. At that very terrace there is a ristorante and a pizzeria. So easy access to food choices. It was an enjoyable stay

The position of the Hotel couldn't be better, it is a short walk to the Piazza del Campo and the Duomo.
Our rooms were on the third floor and had wonderful views of the Duomo. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was typically Italian and plentiful. All the staff that I met were very helpful and friendly. There was no bar or restaurant at the hotel but there were numerous options nearby.
Highly recommended.

I have stayed here before (with a study abroad group of students) but I returned to Siena alone this time. This hotel has a friendly staff (even to a group of 50 college students). The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is a nice selection of fruit and pastries. The location is perfect for getting in and out of the city. The view of the Duomo is stunning!

Loved this hotel! A fantastic location, very helpful staff, killer view, good breakfast, my room even had a small balcony. I stayed here several days and would definitely stay here the next time I’m in Siena. Really made my time in Siena even nicer.
Grazie mille!

The room was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was also very big with a walk in shower. Had a working ac, was very clean. Overall very happy with my stay. Now the best thing that this room has was the view which was amazing at least in room 7.

If you can deal with the curfew (11:30pm---should not be a problem since Siena's nightlife isn't exactly wild), this is an excellent place to stay. The rooms are a bit sterile, but very clean, there was a nice, large armoir in which to keep my clothes. The bathrooms are large and immaculate---not to mention that they have the best hot showers in Italy----no trickling little stream of water here---it's the real deal. Many of the rooms have nice views of the Cathedral, and there is a nice, little patio area where you can read sit and read the newspaper in good weather. There is an elevator for those who have a lot of luggage or who don't do well with stairs. Telephones in each room, and two public telephones near lobby. Reception staff is very cordial, helpful. Location wise, it's great---a 5-minute walk to/from the central bus area (where you can catch the bus to Florence and other cities); a 10-minute or so walk from either the Campo or the Cathedral (the house is located right behind the church of San Domenico). An excellent restaurant is opposite the Alma Domus' entrance, and there are others nearby. Laundermat is about a 10-15 minute walk away on the other side of the Campo. Internet access less than a five minute walk (up by McDonalds); another internet cafe is further away, just a couple of doors down from the laundermat---very convenient if you don't like sitting around waiting for your clothes. This is the third place I've stayed in Siena---considering the price and location I won't stay anywhere else.

Hiya, I contacted the hotel to tell them I was driving. You can drive to just next to the hotel (they gave me directions) and unload your bags then you need to drive and park in one of the city car parks The hotel were very helpful, they gave me directions to the free car parks and also showed me the paying car parks.
