I recently led a school group of Australian boys and 3 staff to Franciscan Italy. The highlight of our trip was to be in Assisi for the Feast day of St Francis on 4 Oct. I had stayed at Hotel Paz before when it was under another name and always enjoyed the welcome and location. But now under new management... More

My wife and I, along with a party of several friends, stayed at Hotel Pax during our October visit to Assisi. We were greatly impressed by the personal service, cleanliness of the rooms, comfort, and centrality of the location. This boutique hotel is owned and operated by a local family who takes great pride and care in attending to the... More

We so enjoyed staying at this family run hotel. The staff was so helpful and charming. The location is fantastic! It is one block off (small block) the main Piazza yet on a very quiet street. The breakfast was basic but delicious, especially the homemade cake! Our room was clean and spacious. It would be great with kids as it... More

A wonderful small family run hotel very in the heart of Asissi, very well located for seeing the town and sites. In many years of world travel I doubt that we have ever met such gracious friendly and helpful owners. (Antonio and family have just taken over the hotel this year). The hotel is immaculately clean , our room was entirely... More

Assisi in generally a beautiful medieval country side. The hotel is located in the old part of Assisis is very graphic the location of the hotel. Because the hotel is build in a traditional way, made out of stone the stairs are very narrow. The rooms have a medieval taste. The staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpful!

Antonio, the owner, was very gracious and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast delightful and filling. There is free Wifi. Antonio, his wife and daughter were very knowledgeable about Assisi and the surrounding towns. We loved Assisi and will book again when we return.

Maybe we just didn't get a good room, but I found this hotel a bit drab really. Sleep quality was poor because of the awful pillows. The bathroom was good, and the location was perfect - just down from one of the main squares of Assisi. Breakfast was underwhelming.

We stayed here during the Christmas holidays and Luigi the owner went absolutely out of his way to accommodate us so that my 84-year-old mom would be comfortable. We got room nr 40 on the ground floor, which is pleasantly warm in the winter (probably too hot in the summer, as no air-con is fitted). Room is not as quaint... More

Our room was uniquely within the arch over the narrow cobbled street below. Our shuttered window opened to the narrow street and to a small piazza at the end of which was one of the smaller churches of Assisi. The hotel was once a palace, or part thereof linked to its neighbour across the lane way by the arch. By... More

“Room nr. 40 is the only one with free WIFI, but ground floor location makes it more noisy and there's no view (just a window which opens on the back of the building, with almost no light). Room is also very warm (without heating, and in December!) It worked very well for us though, as my mother is 84 and appreciated not having to climb stairs.”
