Good + + The apartment was clean, large, well appointed, private with balcony and access to garden and very well located near public transit. Owner was very helpful and attended to all our needs immediately. For example, a coffee maker and TV were replaced in less than a day when they malfunctioned, with no fuss. Would stay here again.

My family and I, consisting of my wife and 2 college age children stayed for 10 nights at Guesthouse Basel during December 2011. We had the main level apartment which consisted of 3 rooms and a kitchen. The structure was built in the 1800's but was very comfortable and in a great neighborhood. The water closet for this apartment, while... More

Basel is a beautiful historic city in Switzerland with a very good public transport network. A free transport ticket is given to each person, so you can go anywhere by tram or bus within the city. Guesthouse Basel is very close to the centre and it's easy to walk or take a tram. It is ideal if you have a... More

There is little that I need add to the previous reviews except for a different perspective. The two apartments housed in total 12 of my family, including two small kids, over 10 days for a family event in Basel. The location is superb: a quieter street less than 5 minutes from trams and buses that take you directly to the... More

We are just back from a week stay at Guesthouse Basel. This is a great find and a great place to stay. We travel to Basel for medical purposes and this apartment just makes our stay so much better. My husband, son, and I found this a wonderfully convenient and comfortable place to stay in Basel. We had three nights after arriving from the states before we could get into a ski apartment, and thought Basel would be fun to see. The unit is the second floor of a house; the young family hosts live upstairs. They were very... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Guesthouse Basel is a charmingly renovated town house built in 1884. It offers two pleasantly decorated and welcoming guest apartments for groups/families of up to six people. The Guesthouse Basel is the perfect place to come 'home' to after an eventful day in Basel. Our garden apartment is situated on the ground floor; the sun apartment is located on the first floor. As one apartment has a full kitchen and the other has cooking facilities, they offer a lot of comfort for longer sojourns as well. The large and quiet garden behind the house invites you to linger and relax. Guesthouse Basel is a non-smoking house. Smoking is however permitted on the balconies or in the garden. We are a cordial Basel family consisting of Mum, Dad, three children and two rabbits. It is our great pleasure to be able to accommodate guests from all over the world in our beautiful home. We live on the upper two floors of the house and are available anytime in case of questions. We will do our utmost to make your stay in Basel as pleasant as possible. ... more   less
