We stayed at Der Tehfelhof for one night passing through Basel. We stayed with our two kids in the family room. The room was very comfortable - split into two rooms with the kids sleeping on a sofa bed. Breakfast was fantastic. Unfortunately we arrived to late to eat at one of the fantastic looking restaurants - next time!

I love this kind of boutique hotels instead of business hotel chains. The room was fairly small as well as the bathroom. The bed was huge, and very comfortable, with beautiful bedlinen. Breakfast buffet included in the room price. Nice and friendly staff, spoke good English. Reasonable price at least at this time of the year.

Impressive, historial 3 star hotel with a touch of modern art. We were really impressed by the tastefull decor. The staff were eager to assist and spoke in english too, which is rear in Basel. Situated in the heart of the old town, we had no problem walking around to see the city's beautiful surroundings.

It is quite pricy, but you will get delicious food in a fancy ambient. Visiting this restaurant is a memory my husband and I cherish as special. I propose reserving in advance. Take the time to enjoy slow food.

Loved this hotel. All staff are very friendly and accommodating. Comfortable and clean room 39 with great view of city. Breakfast, that is included in room rate was delicious. Location is perfect for walking or tram which is just outside the front door.

Der Teufelhof Basel was one of the best hotels I ever stayed in. From the minute we arrived we were looked after by the extremely friendly and helpful staff. The location is amazing, the service was captivating and their food absolutely divine. There is a lot of history here and it surrounding places. I would definitely highly recommend this hotel....

This hotel was in an ideal location to walk anywhere in the city. They also offered free tram tickets and had a stop right outside the door. The amenities inside offered a great breakfast, a cute cafe that turned into a bar in the evening. Had we been there longer there was a theater and an upscale restaurant as part...

On our first trip to Basel, we chose this hotel to be near the Christmas market. We were very pleased with the usual high standard of Swiss hotel service during our entire one night stay. Hotel is located in the old town quarter and is a few mins stroll to the Christmas markets. Room were simple and stylish, very comfortable....

We were in Basel to watch a Champions League match (Arsenal v Basel) and were looking for a boutique hotel that could accommodate late arrivals. Der Teufelhof is located literally on the edge of the Old Town minutes walk or taxi ride from everything. The rooms in the theatre block are very different with art on every room. The staff...

We dropped in to the restaurant as non-residents during a sight seeing excursion around Basel Stadt on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in settling us and aiding our menu choice - we wanted something traditional, local and wholesome. Throughout our visit the staff were attentive without being too intrusive, extremely polite and very friendly (and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Der Teufelhof Basel, situated in the old town, with all sights and museums within walking distance or easy to reach by public transport, is a unique hotel experience with 33 stylish rooms. The hotel is classified as design and lifestyle as well as unique hotel. The rooms are either in the historic building, we call Art hotel, or in the more modern part in the Gallery Hotel. The Art Hotel has eight rooms and a suite. Each of them is made a work of art to live in. Especially business people who travel a lot enjoy staying in rooms which are not like the hotel rooms they know from their visits throughout the world. The Gallery Hotel's rooms and halls are a large exhibition area for one artist who can present his works for a particular period. We have chosen three designers for the rooms' furniture. The Gallery Hotel has twenty rooms, each different in size, three suites and a junior suite. The hotel comprises further the restaurant Atelier, the fine dining restaurant Bel Etage, the Teufelhof Bar, the wine shop «Falstaff», an own theater and the archaeological cellar. ... more   less
