Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was a bit skeptical when I booked the room for 6 nights, but after my stay at the Prizeotel, it was a great choice.
The staff at the hotel were VERY friendly and helpful, especial Mariana. They were a delight to talk to and also answered my queries. Also the lady at the Rooftop bar and the young gentleman at the breakfast were very polite and friendly.
The room given was 708. The room was big and spacious, clean, and it had a beautiful view overlooking Bern. The bathroom was also spacious, and it included soaps and a hair dryer. The bed was comfortable but unfortunately the pillow was not comfortable for me as it was one of those big, very soft pillows.
The room included an air-condition, but it's more of an air circulator than an air-condition. Luckily the temperature in Bern was not hot, so the room felt comfortable. The room was very quiet. The room does not offer a safe or a fridge.
The breakfast in my opinion was good. it does not include hot dishes, but they had a good number of choices of cold cuts, cereal, sweet pastries, fruit, and coffee.
The hotel is located 6 minutes away by bus, and the bus stops exactly in-front of the hotel. To get to the hotel you have to get Bus number 10 direction Ostermundigen, Rüti and stop at Schonburg.
All in all it was a good choice, and thank you for making my stay in Bern extra special. I would recommend this hotel and I would certainly stay again in this hotel.

This hotel stands at a strategic location. Please don’t miss the view of the mountains from the top-floor terrace: it is impressive. Less impressive is to find out at check-in that they clean the rooms only every other day. The two coins you get to exchange for a drink at the bar to compensate for the inconvenience don’t cut it.

A good tip I wish I had had before booking here is not to pay extra for the mountain view. Why? Because they might give you a room without the famous mountain view, and when you complain about not getting the view you paid for, the staff shrugs their shoulders. The extra money paid for the view was a waste.

I booked this hotel to prolong my stay , because I had not found anything cheap at the last minute.
Rooms are very spacious and all you need.
However I felt the decoration and the layout of the rooms were a bit quirky.
We did not have breakfast , neither used the bar, but they have a nice bar rooftop terrace , which would be nice to stay in summer time.
With bus 10 you can reach in 5/8 minutes the centre of Bern.

As we arrived in Bern we were reading recent reviews which were not favorable of this hotel, but we couldn’t disagree more!

Our experience on June 12th was extraordinary. The location is quiet, in a residential area, just a 20 min walk across the river to the historic district. The hotel Eve provides a “Welcome Bern” card that provides free bus service.

Our room was spacious, clean and colorfully decorated. We had A/C and were placed on the top floor where we could access the rooftop bar. Beds were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet.

Breakfast (included) was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. We are accustomed to upscale hotels when we travel. This was more a budget price but far exceeded expectations.

Highly recommend. A tip: Uber is not widely used in Bern so use the bus pass.

I have a reservation for 80 (!) rooms (for a congress) and have been unable to get in touch in order to know what information to give to congress goers so they can make their reservations - I cannot sell the rooms I reserved. I tried Tel, Mail, Linkedin, contacted former reservation officers, went to the hotel personally.... the only answer I get is: I am not in charge. It is an absolute catastrophy!

The climatesystem still isn’t working. When we checked in, we weren’t told about the problems with the climate system, nor the time of the breakfast in the morning or the checkout time. She only asked if we brought a pet hamster when she saw the beauty case. Strange. When we opened the door, the room was very hot. Switching on the climatesystem, there was only noise but no cooling.
When we complained about the climatesystem we were told that the system will be repaired tomorrow. On Sunday the rapairman doesn’t work!!
We asked about some compensation, we were promised maybe a refund tomorrow, a free breakfast or something like that. But tomorrow there will be more information about the refund.
The weather is very hot, no good staff in sight, it will be heavy night. Paid the room in advance. Big mistake….

I'm very disappointed with this hotel and its staff. I booked it for a personal prolongation of my professional travel. I booked via booking.com a non refundable option. However, even booking.com informs that it is up to a hotel to decide in case of a cancellation whether the payment or a part of it would be reimbursed.
More than two weeks before the trip I had a accident in which I broke my leg, ended up in a hospital and was operated. I had to cancel my various private and professional trips, including this one. Prizeotel Bern-City was the only hotel which was completely inflexible and did not agree to pay me back even a cent out of 135 euro per night booking, despite me having informed them immediately about the accident and the cancellation (so two weeks in advance) and despite me having provided them with the documents from the hospital. Coincidentally I had a hotel booking in London (Accor hotel chain) was also non-refundable, but after an exchange of emails, explanations and provision of the documents, they kindly agreed to make a full refund.

Comfortable beddings, huge, modern decor and good breakfast. No fridge in the room. Aircon broke down and it’s an unusually warm week in Switzerland. No fan. So it was a little warm at night. The hotel compensated us with a free breakfast. Buses that go to city centre are frequent and as tourists you get free bus rides. Bern is a charming town with nice shopping, historical sites and you can visit a small grizzly bear park.

Excellent budget hotel with surprisingly big rooms. Bus stop is right at the hotel and the buses are free for tourists - hence easy to get into town to see the sights. Comfortable bed - we slept well. We enjoyed our stay.
