Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I really liked this hotel, where we stayed for two nights to visit Bern. The hotel is located in a calm residential neighborhood, 5 - 10 min with tramway to the center. We got free public transport tickets from the hotel for the days we stayed. It was very easy to get to the center, the tram stops in front of the hotel. The room was nice and functional. Maybe a bit ‘old’ in the design, but still a fun design. The shower could have been better, but ok. Great view on the Palais Fédéral and the city. Staff was very nice. We didn’t try the breakfast, there are several cafés where you can get breakfast nearby, a tram-stop or two from the hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for two weeks during my official visit in Switzerland.
Located just opposite to Schonegg Tram stop, this hotel is just 10 mins from Bern Bahnof (Railway Station).
This is an old design hotel with all modern amenities. The staff at the reception are polite helpful.
The room which I got was at the end of the corridor which was quite small in terms of width. The bed was also quite small. The room was giving a vibe of coziness though. The bathroom was neat and clean but was small
The hotel has an in house restaurant located in the first floor. Overall the food in the menu were quite expensive.
The room rent didn’t include complimentary breakfast so the breakfast was also quite expensive ( 7.5 CHF for express and 19.5 for Buffet)

Positives
1. Courteous Staff
2. Free High speed Wi Fi
3. Complimentary Public Transport pass
4. Clean and Hygienic room
5. B’ful view from the window
6. Check In and Check out was smooth

Negatives
1. Small room
2. Items in the mini bar were quite expensive
3. Small bed
4. Air Condition in the room was bit confusing in terms of controlled heating/cooling

E: big and useful room at a low price. Did not test the food or Spa. Receptionist made it cheaper then it should have been. Location is outside of the center but near a zoo and public pool.

This hotel obviously caters to the tour groups and claims to be much higher end than it is. In fact, it's low-end from our experience. The AirCo did not work, reception at check-in did not seem well-trained. We had trouble getting into and out of parking. The shower handle cover came off when we turned it on. It was mostly clean, but the corners did not have detailed cleaning that is expected during COVID. Pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The safe door did not close or latch and the cooler fridge did not get cold.

It did have decent water pressure and warm water and is close to a tram stop, which is nice for getting into the city centre.

The room was clean but very small. There was no cupboard to hang clothes. There were 4 hooks on the wall to hang things on & since we were going to a wedding, we had only place to hang tuxedos & gowns. The bathroom was very small & again no towel rack to hang hand towels.

Hotel room is very small with the horrible design. They put a curtain behind the windows, and you simply cannot see the outside or in control to move it up. It controls by front office desk and has a motor. It is like a prison room. Bad hotel, and located far away from downtown. No one in front office friendly, and they do not know to have “smile” in their environment. Unfriendly hotel!

Switzerland is generally quite an expensive place so for the price we are paying, it was decent.

It's easily accessible via Tram no.9 (towards Wabern) from main train station. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Room was slightly small but enough for two. We couldn't get to adjust the aircond and without opening the window, the room can get a bit warm but cools down in the middle of the night.

Breakfast spread not much but take it or leave it coz food in town are pricey.

Always bring an international travel adapter as the plug points in Switzerland are different and they adapters hotel have do not match with the UK 3-pin plug

Stayed for two nights on a Business trip. Close to city centre with complimentary tram tickets from the hotel, it takes a few minutes only. Rooms were ok, a little small but they had all you needed including coffee making facility. Nice bar onsite that includes a Japanese restaurant. Room rates are expensive.

Stayed here for 2+ weeks while in Bern on business. There is a trolley stop right in front, which makes it easy to get around. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff are professional and very helpful. Only negative was the noise from the hall which woke me on weekends.

What size is the swimming pool?
Answer from Thomas K
Bern, Switzerland1 contribution3 helpful votes
Dear customer thank you for your question. Our indoor swimmingpool is 9x4 meters. We have a constant temperature of 28°C. Furthermore there is a sauna, a steambath and a fitness corner in our SPA area. We are looking forward to welcoming you soon in Hotel Ambassador in Bern. Best regards The Management
Answer from Marc F
Geneva, Switzerland
Dear Sir, For information about our hotel, the best way is to contact us by phone or mail. Tripadvisor is not a common way to discuss with the operation as the comments arrive often in the marketing department and not at the front office. On top of that, we nearly receive no question through this channel. I have 5 hotels in Switzerland and I checked that I received in 2016 only one question per hotel since November. In 2015, I received 5 question for 5 hotels and in 2014 only one! On top of that, I presume that from these few questions, some are part from a study done by a research institute to test the answer from hoteliers. You will find all answer and contacts on our website and I stay to your disposal to discuss about the communication with tripadvisor if this is a theme that interest you.
