This hotel was the highlight of our family Europe trip this summer! The hotel is incredibly well appointed, has INCREDIBLE views of the Jet d'Eau, Lake Geneva, and Mont Blanc, and its location on Lake Geneva is perfect!

It's crown jewel is its incredible, friendly, professional, and caring staff! Throughout our stay, every single staff member was clearly passionate about their job and the hotel they represented, and were committed to ensuring a simply flawless stay for our family!

In particular, the concierge went way above and beyond, and in addition to planning trips for us prior to our stay, they were so helpful during our stay. Nicolas went so far as to print out a 19 page menu in English for a restaurant so we could select what to order. All of Nicolas, Marcio, and Head Concierge Emilie's recommendations were perfectly on point, and created such wonderful experiences for our family.

Thank you all for your such a perfect experience, and we very much look forward to returning!

Myself and my partner have stayed in multiple LHW hotels throughout Europe and North America. However, the Hotel d’Angleterre is the single best hotel we’ve stayed at so far. It is in a perfect location, with beautiful rooms in every respect, and amazing views over the lake.

On top of this, when you stay at the hotel everything you can imagine is taken care of, it’s almost impossible to explain the intricacy of service and level of detail this hotel caters to.

Marco, the concierge who took care of us for most of our stay, was absolutely amazing. Despite us never visiting Geneva before, he told us everything we needed to know and made it feel like we were living there. We were personally greeted by name every time we entered or left the hotel, with Marco and the team ensuring we were prepared for everything and making sure we felt comfortable at all times - both in and out of the hotel. Nothing was too much for the hotel team, and the many details added up to a one of a kind experience.

Everything you can imagine is catered to - the room was impeccably clean and a lightbulb we noticed that burnt out was changed by the time we returned to the room without us even having to mention it. While it sounds simple, that’s just one example of the level of service at this hotel that was mirrored in many other respects. We were greeted with a complimentary welcome drink, and spent time in both the Windows restaurant and hotel bar. The food and drink was among the best we’ve ever had, and the service and atmosphere was second to none. If we were to offer one criticism, the decor in the Windows restaurant could do with some modernisation, but that is about all we can come up with.

We would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Geneva - while it may not have aspects like a pool that you would see in a larger hotel, this is absolutely not necessary. Ultimately the service, location, quality of the rooms, food and drink options and history of this hotel makes it an exceptional place to stay. I’m not sure this review does the hotel justice, and highly recommend you stay to experience it for yourself.

We were checked into Room 329 which is a lovely corner room with a big King bed. Once walking in the room, we were greeted by a welcome platter of fresh fruits and sweets. The balcony opens to a side view of the lake where we could see the spouting water jet. Location is great as it is walking distance to the lake, the city and plenty of surrounding restaurants. I love that the wallpaper is fabric and in such beautiful soothing colors that immediately brings a feel of classy comfort to the room. We also love the personal touches made by Housekeeping, and was delighted to come back to the room to find our phone cables neatly tied up. The toiletries in the bathroom are Penhaligons.

Breakfast at The Windows was wonderful with a small little buffet area for a Continental breakfast with juices and fresh fruits. You may order your hot breakfast from the ala carte menu. Service is great and friendly. Overall, a great stay.

Dear Madam, What a lovely comment ! Thanks a lot for taking the time to share your feedback and impressions about your stay. Glad to see that you have noticed and enjoyed some of our little touches and attention to details. When it comes to your breakfast, for the moment, we have decided to propose an "a la carte" style of service rather than a buffet. Still all items available on our buffet remain available. Hope we'll be greeting you again soon. Regards Jean-Vital Domézon General Manager

My family and I had the privilege of staying at your fine hotel recently, from 24-26 January.

From the moment we arrived, we felt the warm welcome and professionalism of the staff. We noticed and appreciated many little details which made our stay that much more enjoyable. There are too many to list, but reading through the history of the founding of the hotel, we agree with the hotel's founder Ms. Beatrice Tollman that it's the little details that matter. In that respect, the hotel's staff was the most attentive we have ever experienced. We've stayed in many wonderful places throughout the world, but we were completely blown away by the Hotel d'Angleterre's meticulous attention to detail.

We also had a wonderful dinner at the hotel's restaurant, which was fine-dining with a home-like feel.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at the hotel who had made our stay an enjoyable one.

Upon arrival at the hotel d’Angleterre we were warmly welcomed and presented with a suggested itinerary of family fun activities to consider during our stay. Our room was beautiful, with direct views out over the lake to the Jet d’eau, there was a welcome gift on arrival for our 5 year old daughter, homemade cookies and even a CHF100 gift card to spend in the city!

Lake Geneva itself is truly magical, with so many pretty villages to visit including Montreaux, Yvoire and Gruyere - the cheese quiche was quite something! We took a lake cruise towards Yvoire and also visited the Geneva Beach most late afternoons as it is exceptional and the perfect spot for safe swimming, it was also an easy walk or a short boat trip across the lake from the hotel, there is also a shaded park area for kids and a small restaurant.

We also visited the Aqua park and Signal Bugee adventure park, great for younger kids!

At the hotel d’Angleterre we enjoyed breakfast overlooking the lake each morning and enjoyed an ‘Afternoon Tea’ where our daughter was invited to decorate cupcakes - a true highlight! The hotel even prepared us a ‘packed lunch’ for our drive back to the UK

The staff at the hotel d’Angleterre have a way of making you feel like nothing is too much trouble with a genuine warm welcome for families! I would recommend this hotel for those looking for an elegant and peaceful hotel with wonderful views over the lake, the food was excellent and the service was thoughtful and genuine, we will return!

After going to the Mandarin Oriental on my last visit I decided to try this hotel as it's smaller and the reviews were amazing.

All reviews were true, the hotel is lovely and since it's small it feels like home.
The staff were great and the rooms are lovely with everything you need even sockets that can accommodate Swiss/UK and EU plugs.
Bathroom amenities are great and the staff was perfect.
Breakfast was great and the quality of the food was sensational.

On the negative side, I felt that they was too much staff at the reception and not enough at the breakfast restaurant.
Also, I had a welcome letter in my room mentioning welcome drinks, fruit platters and wine I think but I never received any of these.

Regardless of these 2 points above, I hope to be back there at some point.

Dear Jad, Thanks a lot for this very warm comment after your recent stay. Really glad to read you've decided to make your new home away from home in Geneva. I took good note that I need to have super flexible receptionist that are also able to help for breakfast ! ;) . I have to investigate into the issue regarding the welcome letter you have received but not what should have been attached to it. Accept my apologies for this. I look forward greeting you again soon at the Hotel d'Angleterre Geneva. Warmest regards.

The room was absolutely beautiful, gorgeous furniture and a huge bed. The bathroom was fully marbled, with a bath, shower, twin basins and even a bidet. Luxurious doesn't even cover it when trying to describe the room.
Our room had a balcony which overlooked the lake and opposite the fountain, which was lit up after dark. The staff were friendly and welcoming, using our names, made us feel special.
On our first night we had dinner at the Leopard bar. Decor was leopard print and lots of leopard themed accessories around the venue, which I thought was 'quaint.' They had live music playing jazz mainly.

Dear Faridaa, I cannot thank you enough for this very warm comment with such wonderful description of who we are, from our rooms to the Leopard Bar. Some of our exclusive room, junior suites or suite do offer a balcony allowing to enjoy the magnificent Geneva harbour scenery, with the Jet d'eau and the Mont-Blanc ! If I may say, during the first part of the evening, when your had dinner, the music is soft and sometimes a bit jazzy, but the further the evening goes, the more we are switching to rock, soul and funk music. Hope we'll greet you again soon. Warmest regards.

Stayed here for a few days on a business trip. The hotel is caped in luxury with vintage ornaments and an air or refinement throughout the hotel.
Situated along the banks of the Lake, its location is at the heart of Geneva. Easily accessed within walking distance from the main Train station that takes you directly to and from the airport.
Staff are efficient, attentative and very professional. Food is great especially the breakfast.
Rooms are sufficiently roomy but not oversized with luxury bedding and pillows that provide a very good sleep. Walls and windows are thick so you don't hear the traffic, neighbours or hallway disturbances.
Overall, a excellent choice for business and pleasure.

Dear Sir, Thank you so much for your lovely and detailed comment. As you rightly pointed out, the hotel sits by the shares of lake Geneva and is less than 10 minutes away from the Geneva train station, and from there only 7 minutes from Geneva airport. Glad that you mentioned about the quality of our beds, that are crafted only a few kilometres away from the hotel : full swiss quality. Hope we'll have the pleasure to greet you again soon. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do this one. I had read great reviews about Hotel d'Angleterre and decided to book it for a 4 night stay during a conference in May. I would like to start out by saying that this place surpassed all my expectations!!! I had contacted the hotel about an early check in. My flight arrived at 6:00 a.m. and while they could not accommodate me that early, they communicated it prior to my arrival and made very effort to get me a room as soon as possible. In fact, even before I entered the hotel , the doorman greeted me by my name and the staff offered a much needed warm welcome after a long international flight. The hotel is perfectly situated by the lake and I was able to take a nice long walk along the lake while I waited for my room. The room and bathroom were elegant, updated and impeccably clean. The Hotel is engulfed in history and houses tasteful artefacts. The concierge and staff are fabulous. Service went far above and beyond. After a busy conference day, it was like coming home to a houseful of friends.

Although not commercially advertised , this hotel offers a rare but very special leisure activity. I was able to book a cycling trip around Lac Léman with François who is the engineer for the hotel but is also a professional cyclist and has his own racing team. François made every arrangement possible for the unprepared tourist- right from organizing a racing bicycle (for a rather short person) to the right shoes with toe clips and he may even have arranged for the perfect weather. I had a tight timeline but he made sure that we had a safe and most enjoyable 75 km ride and was then met by the affable and gracious general manager Jean-Vital Domezon who drove me back to the hotel so that I could make my next meeting.

While Geneva is a great city, the reason I would come back to it is to stay at Hotel d'Angleterre one more time, and perhaps ride the whole Lake Lac Léman circuit with François. This is a gem of a place!

A lakeside view to die for , within easy walking distance of sights , transport and eating places . Staff were very attentive and accommodating.
Rooms were finely decorated and imbued elegance - definitely on the list for a return visit .
Don't forget to ask for tourist transport tickets which allow local free rides , especially handy on the ferry boats which arrive on opposite street area dock.
Breakfast was fresh with high quality ingredients .

Dear Aidak, The hotel is located quite close from the airport, at around 20-30 minutes by taxi, or 25 minutes if you wish to use the train option. If your flight is a european destinatation, you should plan to leave the hotel 2 hours before take off time. Regards Jean-Vital

Dear Mrs S, I went through the comment you have posted on Tripadvisor and must say I was really surprised with it. Surprised to a point that I was even wondering if you were really talking about the Hotel d'Angleterre Geneva and not another one, explaining why I have used the opportunity to block your comment. Our Hotel was built in 1873. in 1896 another wing was added to the hotel, enlarging its capacity. From this moment until 1995, the hotel has belonged to the same family over several generations. In 1995 the hotel has been totally refurbished, and bought in 2002 by the Red Carnation Hotel Collection and since is being constantly improved by the owning family. From the old pictures that I have seen, it really needed investment to bring it back to a 5 star hotel. The number of room has been reduced from more than 60 to 45, allowing to make them bigger in size and comfort. Our previous concierge, who worked with us for all his career, explained to me that the restaurant has always been sitting where it is, facing the lake. It has just been enlarged with a veranda. The Bar is an addition from the 1995 renovation of the hotel. According to me, the adjectives you have used to describe our hotel are disrespectful. I would understand if you would have mentioned that the hotel decoration wasn’t your style or not matching your taste. Kind regards. Jean-Vital Domézon General Manager
