Centrally located and easy to walk around town from the hotel. A short walking distance from the train station.
Checking in was easy and staff was very helpful and friendly.
The room, at 18sqm, is rather small but good enough for a short stay.
There was no A/C and if facing the street keeping the windows open invites a lot of night noise from both cars, and people talking loudly on the street.
Also, if the room is facing the street and curtains are open there is constant flickering from a 24/7 video being shown across the street from one of the businesses.
The bathroom had a very odd and somewhat uncomfortable shower, it was very difficult to get in and out of the shower for elderly folks.
A bus pass for unlimited travel in the immediate area is available at no cost.
The breakfast at 15 CHF per person was fairly good.

A heritage property 10 mins bus ride from the Luzern train station. The room was very small and serviceable. We had an uncomfortable night as we kept hearing a weird plumbing noise from the bathroom. There was no kettle in the room and the breakfast was pretty basic.

This was my second stay at Rothaus, Great value for their price. The highlight of this hotel is their amazing peruvian restaurant "Pikante" open on the weekends. I reserved saturday night and sunday brunch and it was great!. I can always recommend their ceviches, Entrecote & Pisco sours. Friendly staff and many choices for breakfast. I definitely coming back!

Horrible place with no fans , kettle or acs. No one to attend to after 11 pm. The emergency number also doesn’t work. Broken window panes . Will definitely not suggest ! Suffering in heat and sweat now .. After paying so much, such treatment is not expected !

Went there last December. The hotel is located about 15 mins walk from lucerne hb. At first I had a hard time finding the hotel and the bus stop was about 3 mins walk. Once u know the directions, it's easy to find the hotel. The hotel reception was ok. I was given a password for wifi for my 3 nights stay. However, they only give me a 1 day password for my laptop wifi. Which is very troublesome as I had to ask for another password again. Breakfast was good. The room is very small and quite squeeze to put your luggage. Overall the hotel is ok.

Stayed for 2 nights here - generally okay with nice room and comfortable bed. I had a small balcony too which was good to get some fresh (and of course Icy) air. Limited facilities in room/bathroom. TV available but hard to find any English or Hindi channels. Bit offside but if you walk outside the hotel, turn left after the hotel exit - go straight (after crossing the main road), you can find the old bridge and river area which was really nice. The same way by walking in approx 10 min or so, one can reach to the Luzern railway station. Otherwise, take a bus, just close to hotel. Breakfast was bad - din't like it. I didn't tries other foods but saw the crowds that indicates something but still it seems expensive.

Stayed here whilst cycling solo from Lancashire to Sicily in May 2014.
Good value and well located this hotel was fine for a short stay but the hotel is in need of a refurbishment, and could do with speeding up it's room prep as I was kept ages waiting for a room! The restaurant serves good local food and the breakfast was fine.
