The restaurant is commended for its food, service and hospitality for a party of 30 on a VIking River Cruise enroute from Lake Como to Basel. Our stop for a Saturday visit of the city was highlighted by the lunch we experienced. While there was a set menu agreed upon with the travel guide, adjustments were made for food issues. All were in agreement of how good the food was, excellently prepared and served, with no hint that serving 30 persons at once was an issue. The food was fresh at the appropriate temperature and not 'mass prepared' in any way. Glad we had the opportunity to experience this great restaurant.

Had a meal here on a hot evening. Had had enough of the sun for one day, so we didn't want to sit in the garden (and with the possibility of smokers for company), so we were directed to a dark corner inside the restaurant near the toilets.

We asked what the fish of the day was and the waiter said that it was char. We both ordered it, but when the meals arrived there was only a tiny piece of fish on each plate, along with some prawns which we weren't anticipating. Some of the vegetables were inedible and had to be replaced. However, the mixed salad was excellent, as was the local Swiss wine from Meggen.

The staff were helpful, but this turned out to be the most disappointing meal on our holiday and also the most expensive. We won't be eating there again if we return to Luzern.

Just back from a wonderful stay in Lucerne and Hotel Rebstock played a huge part in that. We had the most amazing view from our room overlooking the lake and Mt Pilatus. We couldn’t wait to open the curtains each morning to see how the view had changed. Our room was in the older part of the hotel so the rooms had wooden floors, yes you could hear people move around in the room above us but this certainly didn’t detract from the great room with everything you could need in it or the views you woke to each morning!

All front of house staff we met were fantastic. Everyone was always ready to offer assistance and answer any questions that we had. We were even offered a “lunchbox” for the morning we left as we had an early flight so wouldn’t be able to make breakfast.

It was the definitely the small things at Hotel Rebstock that all added up to a fabulous stay!

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and were surprised to be given 3 bed rooms instead. The hotel has a side lift to get to the apartment. Staff was very attending and friendly, introduced and brought us to the lift and taught us how to use it. Breakfast was good but u have to order eggs and bacons separately. Simple spread. Location of hotel was good as only 10min walk from Lucerne station. View from the hotel room was good and gave the old charms of church bells. Hotel gave a pass where we can take free bus rides around certain zones of the city.

We visited for lunch and were not hotel guests. Menu comprises traditional Swiss fare so we opted for the veal liver and bratwurst, both of which were superb. Lovely quiet picturesque location. Had a nice chat with the waiter at the end of the meal but I think I was short changed by a few francs but I'm sure it was an honest mistake - it must be very difficult waiting on outside tables in 34 degree heat! I can't comment on the hotel itself but would certainly recommend the restaurant.

We all had lozerner chugelipastetli. It's a sausage pastry with sausage, raisins, mushrooms, in a fluffy, flaky pastry. It was delicious. Our waitresses were excellent and understood our English. The restaurant was clean and had pleasant decor. There were 7 of us our service was quick.

My wife and I stayed one night on our visit to the city. We loved the balcony view of the lake and church, we also adored the cute little restaurant downstairs. It felt a bit like dining in a medieval castle. We will definitely stay again. Train station and old town walking distance was a big plus too.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Rebstock. Walkable to everything. Our room was clean, detail oriented and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were as helpful as we would expect them to be. Breakfast was plentiful - many options for us pescatarians. Our room had a balcony and lovely view of the street and lake. The church bells across the way chime on the hour, so if you're sensitive to sound, maybe ask for a different facing room. Highly recommend.

Very good breakfast. Excellent friendly staff. Very clean rooms and facilities. Nice bar in the lobby and one next door on the street. Great location, within a minute's walk of the lake and easy to get public transportation outside the door. Room was very nicely setup and felt spacious. I was lucky to get a room with a small balcony that looked out to the lake and mountains. All the staff were super friendly and full of smiles.

Excellent location next to the cathedral and near the Old Town. Walking distance to all the attractions of Luzern. Our room faced the lake and we had views of the cathedral which was great. The staff were so professional and helpful, we couldn't have asked for more. Only slight issue was that the hotel isn't very soundproofed, I guess because it's an old building which is part of the charm.
