Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Free Wi-Fi, friendly & helpful staff, conveniently located to supermarket everywhere. I love the view from the top restaurant. Me & my friend enjoyed the visit to this beautiful old structures of the city. I love the lake and all the Ducks, Swans, Seagulls, Pigeons, Crows and the smallest birds. So relaxing to feed them and just feel wonderful seeing their beauty.

We were attendung a wedding and chose this hotel for the location. Very friendly reception and we got a small but clean and functional room. Even a big bottle if water was included! A breakfast buffet with everything on it - you can order eggs any style. Hotel parking is just through an attached building. For just a short stay it's the perfect hotel. Not recommended for a romantic weekend.

Hotel is well located just off a main artery. Reception was friendly and helpful. They have a private basement room for bikes. The rooms are small but have been well modernized. They have a lift for their six stories which is welcome after 60 kms on a bike.

Spent a night at the Hotel Astoria as part of a week-long bicycle ride across Switzerland. It's good hotel. Clean, updated rooms. I see it as a place to spend a night, especially if you were in town for business. Great location. My dinner was included in the package and was memorable, as was the staff.

This is a great little hotel, not fancy but has everything you need. It is well located on the edge of the old town, and around the corner from Solothurn West train station. The staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. The rooms were fairly basic, but have everything you need and are immaculately clean. Breakfast is upstairs in the restaurant, with a nice view out to the old town, and was quite good. The rooms were also quite large by European standards. The wifi signal was quite weak.

It's a very simple hotel, but I've seen nicer rooms in Solothurn at The same price. However The reception is very nice. Negative notes are the broken hair dryer in bathroom, which was also quite small. I couldn't sleep well because of the noise from the street and the hallway lights that are lighiting the rooms the hole night. Breakfast was pool too.

Great hotel with a restaurant on the roof! Everything was great. Highly recommend! Great location, near the station Solothurn West and the old town. Nearby there are restaurants and shops. The rooms are comfortable and big, with a hairdryer and all necessary bathroom stuff. Late check-in is possible.

Hotel is located very central just outside the old city 5 min walk from the river with cafe's and night life... Well nightlife to the extend the law allows ;) Anyway, hotel will, for the routine international business traveler be considered average - but the central location, friendly and nice service, good breakfast and clean hotel rooms it deserve an extra pad on the shoulder. On top of this the price is low for a Swiss hotel and then Solothurn is one of the most charming cities in the world. I love this place. So all in all 4 stars from me :)
