We stayed here mid June, fantastic weather and this hotel is the best! The terrace of this hotel has the best view of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and over the Eiger, Monich und Jungfrau. Just minutes away from transport to any direction. Nice rooms and all very clean. Great staff and owners, and hospitality. Food very good. All was very positive about this place. My husband and I stayed several nights, and we could not have been more pleased. The Mountain View from our balcony was spectacular, the breakfast is top notch, the room is lovely, and the service is friendly and personal. We are staying in Switzerland for 22 days, and this is our favorite hotel!

What a wonderful stay in an amazing, serene and beautiful town. Words don’t quite capture all that Murren has to offer. You have to visit it to really appreciate this amazing spot. Perched just above the Lauterbrunnen Valley is the Hotel Edelwiess. From the hotel you look across to the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains and also down into the Lauterbrunnen. It is an amazing and captivating location. I picked a nice sized room facing these scenes and it ranks as one of the most dramatic views I have ever had from a hotel. I expected views during the day but total darkness at nite. Instead the reflective glow of the mountains was a 24x7 view with the moon reflecting off the ice and snow of the mountains, it was amazing. The hotel location is perfect with an unobstructed 180 degree view. Currently the CoVid Certificate is required to stay in the hotel. Room was quite comfortable, great shower, great wifi. There is a CoOp store in easy walking distance for snacks or whatever you might need. As others have noted the restaurant in the hotel is one of the best in town. Great salads, steak and wow their French fries were tasty. I found it an enchanting home for the week.…
We we’re 5 Asian Tourist, we found their location undeniably beautiful by the edge of the rock overlooking the Alps. We we’re happy to have our lunch and enjoy a glass of wine together to appreciate the beautiful sunny day of hiking. We order 4 glasses of Chardonnay and 5 bottles of mineral water. one friend offered to pay the entire drinks… By the end of the meal our bill came out - only then we found out that the wine we had was Aigle wine and it was 2 dc l - we were not convinced of the amount of wine in our glasses and worst it was very expensive for such wine even for a 2 dc l. We we’re charged A glass of 2 d.c. white wine Aigle for Chf 15,00, in amount of 1 dc l. Very unfriendly staff and arrogant. We are local tourist, we know the prices and that we we’re offended to have such experienced.…
The hotel is perfectly located with amazing Mountain View’s. The service and hospitality were wonderful. The restaurant had excellent breakfast and the steak dinner was delicious. My husband and I enjoyed our two nights here and I highly recommend.
On our visit to Murren from Lauterbrunnen we stopped at the restaurant at hotel edelweiss and had a wonderful lunch with superb service and a unique rosti with poached apples which doesn’t sound appetising but was fabulously good as was all the other dishes we tried. Thank you to the lovely staff at the restaurant for a lovely meal.
This hotel is in a great location perched on the edge of a rock above the valley below. The view of the Eiger and the Monch is right across the valley and when the sun shines there is nowhere nicer to sit and take in that view. Rooms are small and basic and there are Premium Suites which can be seen in the photos with big rooms bathrooms and big windows to the outside. Food was very good with a broad choice and the terrace was a great place to eat. Staff were great and very helpful when you discussed trips for the day. They provided recommendations to suit your personal choices. This area is fabulous and an outdoor lovers haven so if you’re not here to hike etc you might find things very slow. If you are there to relax then that works too. The temps will be 10 degrees cooler than ground level at Lauterbrunnen so bring appropriate clothing. Very nice 👍…
My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Edelweiss in Murren for two nights in March as part of our 19 day tour de force of Europe. Perched on the edge of a shear rock face, the location is fantastic with breathtaking views of the Alps and valley below from our room. Our room was clean, well-appointed, and quiet and the beds (with their thick comforters!) were perfect for finishing off days we'll not soon forget as a highlight of our trip. The breakfasts were plentious and nutritious and the dinner we had at the restaurant was superb. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly and went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. We will return to Murren again and will stay at Hotel Edelweiss when we do.
We stayed three nights - September 8-10, 2019. Its perfectly located with a short walk from the train station, a bit longer walk to the lift station, and hiking trails everywhere you look. It literally hangs off the gorge wall offering great views of the surrounding mountains which constantly evolve through the day. We definitely recommend that you splurge for a room with a balcony facing the mountains. The rooms are of a good size - ours had two bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is perfect - adequate but not excessive with a never ending espresso machine. The restaurant food is good and well priced. The inn keepers are friendly, and the staff is as well. It's also a perfect location if you're going to paraglide with Airtime Paragliding - you just meet your pilots ten minutes from the hotel at the Schilthornbahn cablecar station. And the hotel's outdoor cafe is a great spot to watch other paragliders in flight during an afternoon respite over a beverage.…
