It was to stand in Arosa's finest place and have wonderful views out over the Arosa basin. These were the client's specifications to the Manz brothers from Chur who were responsible for the hotel's construction back in 1915. Our hotel has since enjoyed a beautiful and peaceful location: close to the village centre and just as close to the pistes and famous Arosa hiking routes - ideal for a relaxing break. Its soon to be one hundred year old history.

As in the title we were very happy with the staff and their efforts. All very friendly and polite. Hotel location is perfect for skiing and private shuttle available as needed. Good to mention is the the availability and promotion of local drinks and food. Despite we enjoyed the drinks some of the dishes were rather not meeting our taste and portion size is rather on the „smaller“ side. Sauna was fine as well as steam bath but not easy to find. Pool is for the kids - was not really inviting. Some areas could accept a little renovation especially the carpet.

The hotel is located in a quiet area a bit out of the center, but close to hiking trails. The room was clean and spacious, breakfast and dinner excellent. The staff are very friendly and happy to advise on hiking routes. We had lovely time.

I would like to say a huge Thankyou to Thomi and the team at the Blatters hotel for making our stay so comfortable. Given the situation with COVID it was touch and go whether we could travel from UK to Switzerland, Thomi provided advice on traveling and testing whilst in resort (a quick antigen test at the sports centre one evening). The journey to Arosa is enjoyable from Zurich airport, catching the mountain train to Chur then onto Arosa. The hotel shuttle bus then collected us from the train station (5 mins). We booked the apartment as there was no availability in the hotel, in hind sight this was a great decision as it kept us separate from other guests and safer. We booked half board so we were still able to enjoy all the hotel facilities and the delicious food in the restaurant (the breakfast buffet was a hit with the kids, along with the pool and hot tub). The transport shuttle runs every 20 mins to the kulm chairlift and Marek the driver was always very polite and helpful. For ease with the kids we stored our ski equipment at the inter sport rental next to the lift at no extra cost as we had rented the kids ski’s. Arosa is a lovely ski resort with plenty of choice of runs, I just wish there had been more fresh powder as the off piste looked amazing. My kids want to say a special Thankyou to rinaldo and Francesco who waited on us in the restaurant. A great holiday and a resort and hotel we would come back to. Thankyou the dickson family.

We had a wonderful time in one of the apartments. A special thanks to the hotel director, Mr Blatter, for being so accommodating and generous when we mistakenly booked the wrong week. We could change the booking at no additional cost. The apartments are very spacious, clean and have all necessary amenities. Guests can make use of the hotel infrastructure such as the pool and the shuttle. All in all a wonderful holiday - despite the Covid situation we felt safe at all times and are very grateful that our children could have a normal ski holiday. Thank you Blatters and Arosa!

The stay can just be fine, as long as you don't have to deal with the general manager, who was very unpolite! The food is very good, the location is great and the mountain view is breathtaking. However I need to point out that the prices are outrageous - the prices at the bar are exaggerated. I would no recommend this hotel. In my opinion, this is not a true 4-star hotel. Feeling like having thrown money down the drain!

Response from Thomi Blatter, Owner at Blatter's Arosa Hotel
Responded 3 Jan 2021

I was looking for a hotel in Arosa as it is an area I am familiar with and knew it would be a great location for our children to learn how to ski. I contacted a few hotels and Blatter still had availability for us. We were offered connecting rooms with mountain view & balcony, we booked and certainly do not regret. We really had a great stay. Reception service is very friendly and help wherever possible even before you have arrived. Our connecting rooms had a good size with plenty of storage space and the view as breathtaking. Service in the restaurant is extraordinary - a team of very knowledgable and experienced restaurant managers & waiters took care of us and accommodated our wishes (mainly our girls') whenever possible. Good selection of wines and plenty of extra choices for the children. Breakfast was good, lovely bread rolls and great coffee. Plenty of savoury options, fruit and yoghurts. If you have a sweet tooth or like orange-coloured spreads you might be a bit disappointed. There are no cakes or sweet pastries and the one 'muffin' style cake really really needs reviewing. All jams are red ... so better not bring Paddington. The bar / lounge area is very spacious and a great spot if you need to work. In the evening there is live piano music - nice touch. Housekeeping was ok, beds are well-made, rooms is clean - evening turn-down service was thorough and very much appreciated. Overall the hotel is very tidy and clean at all times. The hotel is a 10 min walk from the ski-school and the hotel bus shuttle works perfectly if you don't fancy walking. There is a short-cut into town if you fancy skating - 5 minutes down the hill and another 10 minute walk or simply hop onto the free public bus which goes every 10 min. We might just have to come back ...

The Bellavista is a hotel of character and chic alpine style which makes you feel at home and relaxed as soon as you arrive. We stayed four nights for a short ski break and loved the hotel, especially the relaxing bar/lounge area. Service is attentive. Spa area good. Food great. I would have liked to swim, but the indoor pool water was so cold, I couldn't get in- shame because the pool looks wonderful. The outdoor jacuzzi could do with being a bit warmer too. We booked the hotel for the alpine style modern rooms but were given a rather bland, non-renovated one with no comment at check-in, which although it was large, lacked any character and there was nowhere comfortable to sit and the bed was rock hard. We asked to change to the room we had reserved and were given a room on a lower floor, sandwiched between two families, which was fine, but as it was hotel's mistake, it would have been nice to have been given a higher room as compensation for the error. It seemed as though they were pointing out our mistake wanting to change after we had been upgraded, but all of this could have been sorted at check-in, if they had been honest and open about their intentions for us. The main dining room still needs renovation, but once this is done and all of the rooms are renovated, it will be a hotel, difficult to beat in Arosa, because it is a family-run hotel with attention to detail and aspires to create relaxing and memorable mountain holidays. You won't be disappointed.

We booked this hotel at short notice because we were let down by the Belarosa who accepted our booking months ago and cancelled it with 5 weeks to go because they had “overbooked “. Blatter’s superb service commenced the moment we arrived at the railway station and continued for the whole week. Every single member of staff is courteous and helpful. The food is delicious and the bar and restaurant service first class. There is a shuttle to and from the ski lifts and the hotel arranges lift passes. The pool is possibly the nicest I have seen in the Alps and the outdoor hot tub is lovely. The hotel has three small private restaurants and one much larger one for half board guests. The bar and small restaurants are decorated in a modern alpine style which is very chic. My only small suggestion for improvement is that the lighting in the large restaurant is too bright in the evening. This means a lack of the ambience which the small restaurants have. This is a minor point. The quality of food and excellent service meant we enjoyed very pleasant evenings. I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved everything about this hotel: the room, tastefully decorated and with all the amenities of a four-stars. The breakfast and dinner are good and well served by a friendly staff. Then the wellness area is superb, with a big swimming pool, two saunas and a steam bath. There is a shuttle to Inner-Arosa where you can take a bus (free) to wherever you want to go. A very good hotel!

Spontainiously we decided to visit family and friends staying in Arosa during Christmas holidays for skiing. It is hard to find any accomodation during high season offering just one overnight. Blatter s Bellavista did, and though we did not even book dinner with them, the service was friendly and considered, the room was clean and nice and even before traveling home we were allowed to use to Wellness area to change. Breakfast buffet is offering any choice from light to cooked breakfast. All fresh and so is coffee. Actulally sad we couldn t extend our stay!
