Hotels in Lausanne are very pricey and it was hard to decide but Swiss Wine hotel looked lovely online and seemed a good location with transportation nearby. It is those things. It does look lovely, it's modern, the train/tram stop is right outside the door (Bessieres - 3 stops from the main station), the staff at the front desk were friendly, the room is nice and right in town. But the priority is getting some sleep, not just a pretty property. While we had a room on the backside with a nice view of the cathedral and bridge (not the front / street side), but we did not have much peace. Being so close to the church, the bells ring constantly + often + during the night. The first night, happy partiers over near the bridge also carried on till 4 am. Since the rooms have no A/C and are stuffy (even with the ceiling fan + table fan), you have to have the window open to sleep so you're subject to all noise. The second night, there wasn't as much partying outside, but it was still stuffy and lots of church bells. If my booking were not non-refundable we would have moved for the second night. We also confirmed on check in that our booking was prepaid. They still double charged us without telling us and thankfully refunded it four days later. Very fortunate our credit card had room for their mistake. If you're interested in watching TV, there are very few English channels (though obviously not a priority when choosing the hotel). Their breakfast is expensive so we didn't try it. There is a kettle and tea/coffee packets in the room. There's a minibar with things for purchase but you cannot use it as a fridge. The bathroom was modern and did have shower gel + shampoo. Their bar is not open but you can buy a bottle of wine from reception (we arrived at 8pm and nothing nearby sold wine). There is a grocery store nearby but it is closed on Sundays and closes at 5pm on Saturday. If I stay in Lausanne again, I'd choose either their other property Agora Swiss Night by Fassbind or the Ibis Budget as both offer A/C and quieter locatio

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and we were disappointed with our stay. Yes, things are expensive in Switzerland but I still felt that for the price we were paying, our stay could have been more comfortable. I think the main problem was that there is no air-conditioning and we were there when the weather was pretty warm. The room was hot and very stuffy so we had no choice but to open the window only to be woken up several times during the night by people shouting in the street. The next night we decided to leave the window closed but we were very hot. The breakfast is expensive for what it is.
However the staff was very friendly and location is good.

The Hotel Swiss Wine by Fassbind is located at extremely convenient place. It is right on top of metro station Bessiere. The hotel can be a base to sightsee many places, since it is only a walking distance to primary tourist sites of Lausanne such as the cathedral, Palais de Rumine, Palais de la Palud, etc. For grocery, an ALDI and a LIDL are also quite close.

On the negative side, there is no A/C. While we stayed, the temperature was above 30 deg, even at night. We felt like being in a sauna. There was a desk fan along with a fan on the ceiling. During the night, we went out for metro rides because it had A/C. We have to leave the window completely open. The noise from the street was unimaginable (to be fair, it was Friday night). We could not sleep well and eventually had to leave very early before 6 AM. A visit during a hot season would be painful.

The room was large in size. Had a fridge, which we thought was not working. The staff was kind to enough to provide buckets of ice when we requested. The tourist tax was levied at 3.10 CHFs/person/night.

The hotel is in the city center near the cathedral and beside the metro station
I liked the design and the comfort of the room
I can recommend the rooms in th higher levels on the cathedralside to have a nice view.
Hotel is very clean and modern
The "fitness" is really strange and not so useful.
Hotel is also equipped with a Sauna

I would recomend

Superior room at the back of the hotel was quiet and overlooked the cathedral. Compact room but had everything you needed. Excellent shower and clean room. Location opposite the metro was perfect and could use the city travel card given to us on check in

Nice hotel, good location, good value. Badly let down by staff. A problem with the kettle in our room meant boiling water spilled on my hand. When I told the receptionist on checking out (5 March 24), she wouldn't let me finish my sentences before continually interrupting me. She didn't ask if I was OK or whether I needed assistance, and was totally uninterested. When I pointed out they might like to replace the kettle so it doesn't happen to someone else, she just said "OK perfect." It wasn't perfect for me, and she couldn't have been less interested in a burn effectively caused by the hotel.

For first time visitors to Lausanne, this boutique hotel is an excellent choice. Located centrally, the hotel is right next to the city metro, only a few short stops from the central train station. Ask for a room looking out towards the lake, as the views on this side are spectacular. The staff are friendly, and the rooms quite small but with all the basic amenities.

Small hotel, with low price quality ratio. It is nicely located in the center of Lausanne, and the staff is very friendly and helpful, but the rooms are disappointing. The carpet is not smelling fresh, the bed and pillows are extremely uncomfortable and the breakfast is very expensive. Unlike the name, there is no (wine) bar nor place to sit and have a drink in this tiny hotel.

Fantastic location, clean, modern and friendly. I was unsure by looking on the map because of the train station, but I felt very safe. The hotel is actually located on a tram route and the station is underground below. It was walkable to the cathedral, the market steps, several restaurants and the Lausanne history museum. We had a family room to accommodate three of us- it had a kitchenette that we never used. Plenty of space for me and two teens. The hotel gives you free passes for the tram and the staff was helpful.

Nice little hotel right next to a Metro station and near Notre Dame. Staff were very friendly and helpful. But there is room for improvement. We stayed for a few days in May and had a hard time sleeping because the room was too hot at night despite the fan at full power. It is hard to imagine that anybody could get a wink of sleep in July or August. The wireless was also very shaky. There are some nice pubs and restaurants nearby. Do not miss sunset on a bench outside Notre Dame with a glass of wine.
