Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When my 4 sons were small we spent many years at this site both camping land in the chalets - it was excellent beside the lake and the park. My husband and I went for a walk through it recently to the lakeside restaurant (some staff still the same) it was ok but the site itself has deteriorated. Not the site it once was. I would love to take my grandchildren but it would need to greatly improve back to what it was.

The title should say it all. I have camped all over Europe and the UK and this place was the worst.

1. It is overpriced - It cost 31 Euros for one night (2 people, small tent, small car)
2. It is noisy - near a main road, gardeners start about 7am
3. There is little privacy from other tents
4. The toilets and showers are very dated
5. Lake Geneva isn't so good anyway - go to more interesting parts of Switzerland

Overall, I cannot recommend this campsite at all. Avoid

We chose to camp at the Eurorelais at the entrance to Camping DeVidy. It is good value at 23CHF which includes electricity and you can utilise all the campsite facilities. In fact you are really close to the services. Bus #2 into Oochy is very close and it is possible to walk into Oochy along the river- quite a nice walk. You are also provided with a Lausanne travel card which allows you to use all trains and busses.
There is no supervision of where you park your vehicle and there is not many spaces so it pot luck if you get a site. Overall, good value for money, especially in Switzerland

Rude lady on reception informed me that I should have told her we had a large motorhome it’s not that large. Booked 3 days in advance and they did not ask the size of the motorhome.

When we saw out plot we drove away. All packed in so tight we would not have been able to put a chair outside

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews of this campsite. This is the second summer we've been and the staff are always extremely friendly and the location is wonderful. You are right by the lake but still close to the city. The washing facilities are not modern, but they are clean and there is also a little shop and nice restaurant.

We were 2 adults and a baby, a little 2 persons tent and a car and we paid 39 euros for one night!!!
the camping is supposed to be 4 stars but I wonder how did they get the 4 stars, I went in 2 stars campings that were way better than this one...
the kids area is tiny, the bathroom is old and broken everywhere. Hopefully it is at least clean... but that's the only positive point.
I really regret I didn't drove further to another capming...

I have read all the previous reviews and can only say "It's all in the way you look at it. It all depends what you're looking for..................." You could have the most luxurious camp site in the world but if the staff are horrid and unhelpful, it would count for nothing. If you're looking for a place where you feel welcome and safe............... look no further.

I spent a fortnight at this site last year and it was one of the happiest times in my life.
The staff are so kind and helpful; nothing was too much trouble.
The site was clean, the gardens well tended.

I have fond memories of having a coffee and croissants every morning at the little café overlooking the lake.I enjoyed the peace there yet at the same time there was a vibrancy about the place.

I arrived a Vidy feeling jaded and returned home feeling rejuvenated.

I particularly appreciated the security on the site; there were security staff who discreetly patrolled throughout the night, (I actually slept outside in a hammock, it was wonderful looking at the stars overhead and feeling safe) there was no rowdieness at any time.

It is a very good site for children and for their parents to know that they're safe. My grandchildren LOVE visiting!

My son lives on the site, by choice, and looks on it as home.

I'm braving the elements to stay at the camp next week for 10 days ( I'm a 70 year old woman and I'm really looking forward to my stay!!

The camp rather reminded me of the series "The Prisoner" (the popular television series in the nineties,) but not for negative reasons; you could leave any time you wanted!!! {:>) ; perhaps it was because the people staying there all looked happy; people going about their business, I don't ever remember ever seeing anyone looking glum.
There are beautiful walks and places to cycle safely within the camp

I felt quite sad reading the few negative reviews; sad that they hadn't had my experiences at the camp.

There has to be a law against this sort of camping. Namely the bathrooms. How can ones first impressions of entering a country in our case from France and you know what standard that country has for camping (diabolical) be so disappointing and we had such great expectations that ones plans for Switzerland where curtailed immediately and we moved on to Germany without doing any of the planned sight seeing after staying in this camping site. Travel isn't about just looking at things we also like some modern facilities that at this camp site we certainly did not get. Although by the prices we paid one would have thought we were getting 5 star treatment. What an image this leaves a tourist when they leave to go home and spread their tale of woe. Shame Switzerland shame. The owners should be made to upgrade or get out of the business. We are a middle aged couple from Australia travelling in a motorhome. Horrible.........

Stayed at this place for one night. And I will share my experience of this night. First of all the woman in the reception when I arrived was very nice and very good in English, but the price she gave me, was not the price I had to pay when I checked out.

Some of the people in the restaurant was very rude, one them even told me to “learn French” since she couldn’t understand when I tried to explain that I would be gone for 5 minutes when I was waiting for the food.
The food they served was ok+.

The showers and bathroom need a fix up, but they was okey, but what was not okey was that they didn’t have soap on the toilets, not even dispensers for soap, so if you care about clean hands, you should bring soap.

For the WiFi you need to pay per hour.

You get free bus tickets, and it’s easy to get from the camping in to the city. And is close to the beach.

All in all i will not recommend this place, because I don’t think it’s a good value for the money.

The campsite is situated on Lake Geneva and the lake is just outside the site, which our dog loved swimming in. It is a mixture of permanent units and tourers, with a separate part for tents. The pitches are grass and completely open, so no privacy. There is a children's play area, bar and shop, although I never saw it open, but this may be because it was low season. The free bus tickets were welcome, but we never found the bus stop as the road it was on was being dug up, so we opted to walk into Lausanne, which took about 40mins. Wifi wasn't very cheap as whatever quantity you purchased had to be used in one go, you couldn't log back in. Also, the WC chemical/grey waste and fresh water was situated in an adjacent field just outside the campsite, which was a bit of a trek and not very convenient. Lausanne was a very nice place and the walk back to the campsite along the lake was very pretty.
