1 night in September 2010 Pro Good size room. Cons Location – 12-15mins from the train station. Located in the red light district but no trouble at all. A little noisy at night. Overall decent place for the price 137CHF/night. Internet is charged at 5CHF/5days - we were only there for 1day so we skipped it, but excellent value for...

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights & was pleasently surprised. Although it is located in zurch's red light district, but I found the area safe & lively with most restaurants & clubs open till late night. The hotel itself is located 10-15min walk from the main train station & is well served by buses & trams. The room was...

Clean, modern, functional room with good facilities inclusing safety deposit box, helpful, friendly staff. My husband and I had breakfast in the hotel, which was extra to the room price, this was very good - great coffee, fresh bread, fruit, eggs etc. The location of the hotel is in the red light district and so makes for an interesting setting!!!!...

The Rothaus sits in the seedier part of Zürich, but as others say it's by no means dangerous or unsafe. At the fastest possible walking pace it still took me 13mins from the Rail station, so bear in mind it's quite a walk from the City, River and Hauptbahnof. What you can't fail to ignore is the attitude and friendliness...

I booked this because of the other reviews and was not disappointed. We'd stay there again. We stayed here for 1 night on the way to Italy by train, and 1 night on the way back. Different rooms each time, both spacious, very modern (no carpets, one purple wall, others white), small but sufficient bathroom, lovely comfortable beds (I'd asked...

First of all, this hotel has a lot of spirit and atmosphere. located in old brickbuilding right in the middle of the red light district you have to walk through a bar tho get to the reception and the rooms. This is definitly cool, which hotel has his own trendy pub instead of normal hotelbars? Once you are in the...

This hotel used to be a brothel and it has small clean rooms in the red light district. It is walking distance to the train station once you know the way, is reasonably priced, $100 Canadian for a single room, and unless you plan to spend a lot of time in your room it's all you need in a hotel....

The hotel itself is great, nice small room, modern and well kept. It is in the red light district so hookers and dealers are around a lot. BUT, it is safe and there are also famlies with small children all around also. I never felt unsafe, it is just different, all kinds of people all the time

I booked a corner room with a balcony. The room was spartan, to say the least, but I was comfortable and happy there. Very clean. The bed was comfortable and I very much enjoyed smoking on my balcony watching the passersby, bicyclists, drunk people, homeless, prostitutes, johns and drug dealers. Despite the "Red Light District" neighborhood, I never once felt...
