I will tell you how my experience was, and you will decide whether you like it or if it fits your desire. It was the first time traveling in UK and for my surprise I was booked in the middle of Nothing. It was night, could not see anything but the street as got in The Blacksmiths Arms Pub. I...

A warm welcome into a stylish and well appointed dining room, which was unexpected after having driven past on countless occasions. Recently taken over and presumably revamped, the experience as an 'off chance' location was great. The food was excellent, with smart presentation and perfectly cooked - Salmon roulade and salt and pepper squid for starters followed by Cod steak...

Hello David, thank you for taking time to write a review. Your story is very familiar as many guests are discovering us for the first time. We have spent the last 9 months refurbishing many parts of this beautiful 400 year old building, the prognosis is good it's going to be around hopefully for the next 400 years. Great to...

A quick overnight whilst visiting family; a lucky find indeed. This is how a country inn should be. For locals, a warm, cosy pub serving great food. For travellers, a warm welcome, beautiful, comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast. The owners are doing this with real care and deserve every success. We will definitely return.

Hello, many thanks for taking the time to write a review. Your comments made us very happy as this is exactly what we set out to do and hope to improve over time. With such old buildings and businesses it takes a good while to change perceptions and rebuild a new vision with consideration of the past. Slowly and surly...

We were in Lewes looking for somewhere to eat, and happened upon the Blacksmith's Arms, a quaint guesthouse situated in a lovely part of England. The food was delicious very fresh and bursting with flavour, as a real foodie I had to have a bit of everything and it didn't break the bank. The staff were very engaging and the...

The food was really good, the risotto was the best I ever had, I only had a taste of the pana cotta but it left me wanting to come back. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, would recommend it for sure!

I decided to take a break from the crowded London, and stayed at The Blacksmiths with my bf. I have to say that the rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Vintage decor with a contemporary spark. The staff was very friendly, and welcoming. We really liked the food , Fred was very helpful regarding the suggestion of wine. I 'll...

Hello Steve, Thank you for taking the time to give feedback. I am sorry about your experience as it's certainly not what we would like for our guests. We simply took our 'eye off the ball' for a moment. In all my years of international hospitality experience it's always the quiet sessions that the service lacks and team loose focus....

Met my friend here for a catch up. Decided to have food although it was nice the portions were tiny and I'm a small eater. Quite expensive. Make sure you ring in advance because chef goes home if it's quiet. Met friends there on another occasion in February and kitchen had closed early, they managed to produce chips but nothing...
