This was my second visit to the restaurant and we had Nachos to share and they were without doubt the best Nachos I've ever had. The service was war and friendly, the view from the covered outdoor area is awesome. All in all a lovely visit, nice and relaxed
This is a very nice hotel in the harbor of Delfzijl. The town center is a 500 meter walk. Rooms are clean and the bathrooms are very good. Breakfast is OK tough a little standard. The restaurant is very good, excellent ! In summary a good place to stay.
Enjoyed our stay as a base for a family visit over several days. Our room was small but adequate for our purposes. Second floor view out of the full width window of a working harbor is very unique and interesting. You can walk out of the hotel on to where the ships are moored from the parking area. Larger bathroom with luxurious fittings and nice shower, well maintained. Very clean with the exception of the stained carpeting in our room. The staff was especially accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast selections very much and being seated in a lovely dining area with a nautical theme was very fitting. The lack of a lift made it difficult to get my wife's large suitcase up the stairs but I'm sure if we had asked for assistance it would have been provided. We would definitely consider staying there next time we visit.…
decent sized and nicely furnished room overlooking the harbour, with comfortable bed with a good sized bathroom and decent shower. Had breakfast lunch and dinner, all tasty and wholesome. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. All in all a lovely place to stay!
Breakfast and Dinner both excellent, but always wise to stay alert in case of a (food)allergie... Employees committed and very friendly Free wifi Very warm in the hotel; No elevator to reach first floor
Very friendly and helpful staff. Secure bicycle storage. Large modern comfortable rooms with fabulous shower! Opening windows! Close to town and shops. Easy access by bicycle to LF routes. I did not like the senseo coffee maker!
Great restaurant with tasty food, The rooms (only 1 type except a family room and 1 suite; in summer booking the harbour facing rooms are not a good idea as the large terrace is in front and hence window needs to remain closed) are decent value for money. Good beds (a bit narrow), free fruit bowl with daily refill, coffee maker. (Hot tea water is from a tank on every floor, but usage is cumbersome due to a child lock and no instructions present.) Bathroom is luxury but has a badly designed rain shower, leading to consistent flooding on the main floor. Good breakfast with plenty of choice, All in all both the check-in area and the hotel rooms look like a bit of an afterthought for the, excellent for local standards, restaurant.
Holland does industrial landscapes well - cranes, pontoons, container sheds, windmills etc. so if you want to see a busy and clean port in operation try the views from this hotel. Not a place for a romantic break but very interesting. A short walk from the railway station if like us you are using inter-rail passes but there is good parking as well. A good size room with fridge and drinks cabinet & added advantage of some fresh fruit every day. Good selection of food in restaurant - their starters are huge and good value e.g smoked duck or a seafood mix with bread. Buffet style breakfast on the first floor was fine. Suggest you try to get a room on the 1st floor to take advantage of the harbour activities on view. A tip - take a universal plug for the sink!
A modern hotel outside the sea wall - we had difficulty finding our way through the sea wall when walking from the station! Great views of an industrial port. A clean and well equipped room - but get one on the top floor if you can - for the views. Helpfull staff. Not a wide range on the menu but good dutch cooking. A short walk to views out over the tidal Ems river, if harbours don't appeal to you. Don't count on the weather! Also usefull if you are travelling on an Interrail pass, as we were, from Stockholm to East Sussex in England. An unusual place within walking distance from the station - at the end of the line! Worth a detour, not a trip!
This is our second visit and review after 4 years and the hotel is still excellent by our standards. Great bathroom, beds, room spotlessly clean, staff is very friendly, easygoing and can improvise. We had a little dog with us this time and it was very welcome, also in the restaurant. Dinner at the restaurant is good and gives value for money. Our compliments once again
