This hotel is to be avoided, their customer service and response is appalling We unfortunately had to cancel our trip due to COVID issues, and we were assured a refund would be made in June that a credit less cancellation (I was happy with that) would be made in days Now they just completely ignore any email Disgusting Customer Service
In basic summary, this ApartHotel is not a hotel but a decent quality hostel, similar to an Ibis Budget (not quite as clean, though). It is definitely not what I would consider to be a four star hotel, on a par with Van der Valk etc. More like a student flat, convenient place to stay for those visiting the university next door. Reasons are as follows: Outside is shabby, mould stains on the balconies. Hallway areas messy with old furniture, old carpets Apartment itself very bare, badly painted, paint stains over the door windows, badly painted and rusty pipes Small tv. No kettle Bathroom rusty and stained (see pictures), yellow toilet seat, calcium on the tiles, rusty shower attachment and drains Breakfast decent but items of cheap quality (Aldi yoghurts, no warm food apart from scrambled eggs) Rooms not well insulated, lots of wind noise from the balcony door Plus points: Reasonably friendly staff (our first room had sewage smell and they moved us without problem, sadly second bathroom, though better, still not completely clean) Clean reception area Very good quality bed and mattress Reasonably clean room (minus bathroom and items which hadn't been vacuumed under the night stands) In general, I would have given this place an average or good review if it was a 3 star hostel or 2 star hotel, but as it purports to be a 4 star hotel, I would say this is well below standard. Fine for a student trip, anyone under 25, or a short stay over, but not for a holiday or business. My partner and I booked this for a weekend away and we still had a nice time, I booked through NS deals so had a special offer, but if I had paid full price for this I would have been quite annoyed. …
We were a bit hesitant after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor but what a great place to stay. Very conveniently located to train station Maastricht Randwyck. Just one stop away (3 minutes) from Maastricht station. From there it is just a 10 minute walk to the lively city centre. We booked a very good deal including breakfast via Groupon. Lovely amazingly spacious business room and an out of this world breakfast buffet. For us this hotel has been greatly underrated here on TripAdvisor. This hotel is well worth staying.
Stayed here for 2 nights mid July. The hotel looks terrible from the outside and this theme continues in the rooms. It was like staying in a 1960s dark and stark council flat. No views unless you like concrete. The walls are very thin and sound caused by others carries. Cheap carpets, furniture and beds. The kitchen which we were told we were welcome to cook in had zero cutlery or crockery ! It's just an awful place to have any part of a vacation. The staff were friendly and it's convenient - one stop up the train line from Maastricht, those are the two good points. There is nothing locally, no shops, bars, restaurants it's in the middle of a university / industrial complex. Don't be fooled by the photos, our two bedroom cell did not resemble any of the photos on the website. There are many many more pleasant places to stay in Maastricht, unfortunately everywhere else was fully booked when we tried to move hotels. If you ever wondered what eastern bloc / Russian 1960s government provided accomodation looked and felt like, visit here because it felt like that's where we stayed. Truly awful (and over priced). Avoid.…
The Netherlands has one of the best and most restrictive star category systems in Europe; therefore, it is impossible to understand how this aparthotel has 4 stars. I know that I am an extremely difficult customer, but there are really some places that are unbearable for anyone. Let's start : Location. Too far. Although you can go by train to Maastricht train station, picking such a far location to visit Maastricht is ridiculous. Impossible to park. Private parking from the hotel is almost mandatory. NO airconditioning. Fridge beverages have NEVER been replaced. Noise. The rooms at the back have all the noise from the hotel parking AND from the management school parking. Room doors slam. Clients are not quiet in general. Hygiene. Disregarding Dutch basic HAACP hygiene rules, a waiter was distributing the bread with his bare hands on the displays for breakfast. When I asked him about the gloves, he just said they never had a complaint. Room cleaning. In addition to the fact that we saw a child (yes, a child) most probably helping his mother putting WC paper in a room, coffee mugs were never cleaned in 3 days. For 3 days there has been a coffee stain on the stairs behind reception. Corridors are gloomy. Breakfast rooms are noisy and there are even tables in main hall in front of the reception... Gloomy breakfast areas in the corridors! Back rooms have view on the bins. Suspicious looking towels. Student-looking rooms. Actually, I could go on and on but unless this hotel makes some serious efforts, I do not recommend it and suggest inner city charm hotels in Maastricht.…
