Very nice room but with a number of negatives; 2 double beds, where only the people lying "in the middle" have a socket and a light switch within reach. The places on the outside cannot turn on a light without disturbing the bed partner or wandering around in the dark. There are only 3 electrical outlets in the room. Although we booked with 3, there were only 2 coffee bags and 2 bags of instant coffee. There are no cups in the bathroom to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth.

The smoking area in front of the hotel is not covered, so a hut does not seem to me to be an insurmountable cost to make it a little more pleasant for smokers when it rains.

The main course for dinner is tasty but really small. Without a starter and/or dessert, you leave the table very hungry. The price does not correspond to the portions

On the day of arrival you can already park in the hotel car park. The hotel was fully booked but at 9:35 there were still plenty of parking spaces available. You can walk straight into the park from the parking lot, which is just as luxurious! Because you can enter the park half an hour earlier for the first attraction of the day, you are guaranteed a free queue!

We arrived at the hotel just before 4 p.m., you can enter your room at 4 p.m. sharp. You can open the door of your room with the app, which works great and checking in is no longer necessary.

We had dinner at the hotel, the choice is not huge but we had a delicious meal. Adjustment due to allergy was not a problem. After dinner, he suddenly stopped by the lobby, a nice extra!

Afterwards we quickly entered the park, the short queues were nice and because of the location you can quickly walk back and forth.

The hotel is a bit older, but you can also see that everything is being done to keep it tidy. The room has nice details, tip: be sure to play a game of the board game!

The next morning a very extensive breakfast was ready. Once again I received fantastic help with my allergies. I only asked if there was cream in the eggs and I received a full menu of things I could still order. 10 minutes later the table was full of delicious products. Little Red Riding Hood came to say hello in the breakfast room, which was a nice surprise for us.

There is no need to check out. Keep an eye on! Around 9:15 everyone wants to leave at the same time, the elevator cannot handle this. So put your heavy luggage in the car or storage room before breakfast and take the stairs after breakfast.

All the staff were very friendly! That was the icing on the cake as far as we were concerned.

This was our first trip to De Efteling, and what a lovely magical one!
Firstly the staff are ALL so very helpful and friendly, much better than in the UK. They go out of their way for the customer!

We stayed at the Efteling hotel for two nights, in a comfort room, which was lovely and had it's own entrance to the park only 5min walk away and early access to some rides at 9.30am. The reception staff there are so genuinely friendly and helpful! They helped us many times with questions. I lost my phone charger which I really needed for medication reasons, and they found and lent me one immediately! They also helped me post some postcards.

The rooms are big, clean, comfortable and well themed, with a nice hot shower, a big TV, and AC. We requested a high floor room with a view facing the park, and they honoured this request, putting us on the top floor.

Breakfast was continental buffet and fresh. The only thing missing I noticed was some sugar or sweetners for tea. The hotel restaurant is very high quality. I had the Venison steak, which was very nice. The only suggestion I have is that the menu was very limited and small, it would be nice to have more choice.

The Bathouse swimming pool at the other hotel was also nice, warm and fun, although it was very busy when we went about 7-8pm. The lifeguard staff were very helpful, to lend us some towels and arrange for us a shuttle minibus to take us back to the Efteling hotel as it was dark and cold after park closing time, and would have been a long walk. We really appreciated the help as I am disabled and would not have been able to walk back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Efteling and hope we can come back again soon! Highly recommend to anyone

I give three stars because
Breakfast and food were very good, nothing was missing. The room ,we had Hansel and Gretel rooms, was lovingly ,furnished but unfortunately very dusty and in some places even dirty. The towels had stains and one even had a hole .That's a pity ,because the staff at the reception and in the service was extremely friendly and helpful. In the room there was a small coffee maker I think Nespresso , a small fridge , but which was empty I would have liked a stocked fridge at the price, so you have something to drink at night. If you're thirsty, it doesn't matter if you end up having to pay a water ,Fanta, or Coke. Conclusion Next time I'll find another hotel.

We visited the Efteling Hotel last October and my son has been obsessed ever since. He was so excited for our second stay but the poor thing contracted a terrible sickness and diarrhoea bug and was unable to visit the park. The hotel staff were amazing, showing genuine concern for our son and did everything they could to help us, including sending medical care, collecting medication from the pharmacy, sending cleaning services and providing lots of extra towels and bedding. Thank you so much to Marreke and Barbara who went above and beyond, sending our son some lovely presents and a card to cheer him up while he was ill in bed. This was such a lovely gesture and we were all touched by it. He was especially pleased with the VIP tickets they gave him to let him skip the queue on a ride, and this meant he got to go on symbolica (his favourite ride) before we went home on the last day when he felt a bit better. I would also like to thank Maarten on reception who assisted with cleaning when other staff refused. He came to the room himself with rubber gloves and cleaning supplies! There were so many other amazing staff but there are too many to name. The fantastic staff at the hotel meant the trip was not a total loss and we will never forget their kindness. We hope for a more successful visit next year! The room was comfortable (pillows were a bit lumpy) and breakfast was fantastic.

Nice hotel, staff was very friendly. The room was tip top, down to the smallest details (mouse behind the bed, dancing shoes in the closet, etc.) we had an extra guest ourselves, baby Pardoes could come and sleep with us! The breakfast was also absolutely fine! We had to wait fifteen minutes before we were assigned a table, but we took that in stride. We were also allowed to enter the park half an hour earlier, so we could do some attractions before the park opened. Our stay was like the Efteling “fairytale”, we will definitely come back!!

The hotel has its years, but it is renovated. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the digital key system allows you to manage yourself, without having to wait, or go to anyone for check in and check out, or to drop off and collect luggage in the storage room.
The location is ideal for going to the park, they do not take even 5 minutes and, as a guest, can be accessed half an hour early, allowing you to climb without queues to the best attractions.
Breakfast is very complete, with variety of sweet and savoury.

This is our 3rd stay at this hotel. The room was not perfectly clean. So much dust on the floor, particularly between the beds, under the bedside table. I felt like the cleaning was superficial.
In the bathroom, no glass or cup for brushing your teeth. Only two teacups in the room even though there were 4 of us.
But the apotheosis was the evening meal in the hotel restaurant:
First it was cold! Then, we chose à la carte dishes for 24 euros including a risotto. The risotto wasn't risotto, it was Greek risotto-style pasta. The dish was so small that even if it had been a starter, I would have found it small. Greek pasta, 2 asparagus, a little sauce with parmesan: 24 euros!? Why put dishes on the menu if you know from the start that without taking the menu, the customer will not be satisfied? I NEVER finish my dishes in restaurants as I have little appetite but there, after 45 minutes of waiting (during off-peak periods and in the cold of the restaurant which is none other than the breakfast room), I still had hungry after my meal. We would not have been able to eat in the park since the park restaurants close at 6:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. (a little early for dinner) especially since the majority of food outlets in the park are outside. When we open a park in winter, we have to think that customers will want to warm up with their meal and eat something other than fries for lunch and dinner for 2 days! Efteling in summer: yes but Efteling in winter: to review. Or not at the hotel but in a small campsite where you bring your meals and heat them up in the kitchenette.

I will start by saying we have been to the Efteling for our daughters birthday for many years - usually super impressed but this year was SHOCKING

1. We accidentally made 2 bookings earlier in the year I emailed the customer service to have the second one canceled but it wasn’t so they decided to charge us the 200 euro + deposit - answer to all things was “it’s policy”
2. Upon reading to see if anyone else has had similar bad experiences - I found that the hotel (we usually stay by lake but wanted to try something different) is worn down, mouldy, bad customer service, and in need of a refresh- so I call to see if we can change our booking to a 200euro cheaper room in landhauys (I was expecting to not be refunded as it’s our change) upon doing this I was shocked that they also want to clip the ticket again with a 35 euro change fee AND also want us to have to rebook our Caro tickets (for a cost of course!!!)
3. The most surprising part for me was speaking to a customer service team member (as many of the bad reviews Efteling have answered speak to customer service) and that being the most shocking customer service of all- I was told by this team member “yes please leave this review I understand”

The park is beautiful and a great family experience we lots of fond memories of but I’m sorry the customer service is upon the worst we have ever had- the policy is led by money grabbing rather than a positive customer experience.

We had a four-night reservation at Efteling, booked directly through their official website. The entire cost was paid upfront via credit card. Due to unexpected health issues, we contacted Efteling by phone prior to our trip to inform them that we would not be able to visit. The representative assured us that they would get back to us, but no one ever followed up.

We sent multiple emails requesting either a refund or the option to reschedule within a one-year period. Despite our numerous attempts, Efteling has completely ignored us. Not a single response to our emails, no solution offered, and no refund provided.

They kept the full amount of money for our four-night stay without any explanation or communication. This lack of customer care and refusal to engage is deeply disappointing, especially considering the circumstances.

I cannot recommend Efteling to anyone, as their customer service is completely unprofessional and unresponsive. If you are considering booking here, be warned: they do not seem to value their customers or provide solutions in times of need.
